Good HTPC card
- Pros: Makes a nice home theatre PC video card - no fans to create noise, can run 1080p and sound through HDMI without problems. I use it with Win7 Media Center, and it works nicely.
- Cons: None at the price - not a great gaming card, though it could be pressed into service for some games.
- Other Thoughts: Not a large card - fits nicely into small form factor boxes - doesn't require extra power.
HTPC
- Pros: Inexpensive
Passive Cooling Quiet
- Cons: No Cons at this price/noise level
- Other Thoughts: I put this in my wife's computer/HTPC (AMD 5000+, 2GB ram). It works fine driving a 720P projection TV. She even played through Dragon Age on it (somewhat choppy at times, but still playable). It runs win7 64 media center with an avermedia TV tuner just fine.
- Pros: No fan, newer ATI tech, great outputs. I needed a card to put into a business system that I wouldn't have to worry about the fan breaking down and this fit the bill niceless.
- Cons: Considering it's not meant for a gaming card, it will still play some games at lower settings just great. It's more powerful than most laptop graphics cards by far.
- Other Thoughts: I want to see more fanless midrange cards. fanless 5350 or something would be awesome.
