4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the $$$

Pros: I'm very surprised at the quality of the graphics with this card, and especially for the low price. Also do you don't need to have the worlds largest power supply to operate it!

Cons: None really, it seems to stay quite warm sometimes but you know, I'm used to seeing 20 to 30 degrees C on nominally operating circuits. This card tends to operate at 42 degrees C while under idle conditions.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly good

Pros: I put it in a HTPC and it works fine. Works with VDPAU in Linux for hardware accelerated HD playback.

Cons: The fan is kind of noisy, it causes a lot of vibrations in the case. However an aftermarket fan fixed that.

Other Thoughts: For an HTPC it works well, it just might need a new cooling solution if you want it to be dead quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsBudget HTPC

Pros: Native HDMI
PureVideo HD
Low Price

Cons: The stock fan is a bit louder than I'd like for a HTPC.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card for a HTPC I build. The card works very well for offloading H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2 video to the GPU. 3D performance is pretty decent as well.

4 out of 5 eggsCUDA

Pros: Price. I recieved a 5.3 WEI for 3D gaming performance. again thats great for the price. When CUDA becomes mainstream the nvidia 9 series will be doing much of the CPU work.

Cons: I only recieved a 3.2 WEI for Windows AERO performance.

Other Thoughts: I would have thought the gaming performance would be lesser than that, while the AERO performance would be higher. The scores are Windows 7 Experience index (WEI), which people say are inaccurate, but who knows. If I ever run a 3D mark I will post back.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks on 220Watts

Pros: Upgraded from iGPU Geforce 8200 in my Acer Aspire X1200 Slim Desktop (Nvidia Forceware 8.15.11.8585 Vista 64-bit Driver Version). Tested on Crysis @1280x800 Mainstream which impressed me. i'm having 220W pSu with 14A on +12V where it runs perfectly (so far), clear and crisp on my Acer P201W Monitor with DVI-Dual Link connection. Played on Atlantica Online @1680x1050 with Highest Settings and still ran smoothly!!! Ran VideoCardStabilityTest and Benchmark of 71 (well, as expected). The Fan is quiet. Overall, I'm happy for this GPU!

Cons: Desktop performance for Windows Aero dropped from 3.4 to 3.3; but i don;t really care! Temp 40C-50C in idle/no heavy graphics loaded. Temp 50C-75C on gaming with 50% Fan speed. I can't see what is the Memory Type, Texture Fillrate, Bus width and Banwidth using TechPowerUp GPU 0.3.3

Other Thoughts: planning to add 1 fan and working on mail rebate...

4 out of 5 eggs9400 GT low profile

Pros: before GMA X4500HD, upgraded to this and WEI score for 3D Gaming increased from 4.2 to 4.9 while score for Windows Aero decreased from 4.6 to 4.2

Cons: Low profile card. Slightly lower in performance compared to 128-bit 9400 GT

Other Thoughts: 32 cores instead of 16 equalized the lower 64-bit memory bus width effect....

Pros: VGA/DVI/native HDMI connections. Color is crisp and clear.

Cons: I lost native sound when I use the HDMI port.
