5 out of 5 eggs9800 GT

Pros: Running great after 2 years of use. Runs all my games (albeit older ones) at max settings without issue.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Getting a little date but still does everything I need it to with out issue.

5 out of 5 eggsServed me well.

Pros: Was fast and reliable, it was able to run everything I threw at it on max.
It ran EVE on max, GarrysMod on max, HL2Ep2 on max.

Cons: I found nothing wrong with the card itself, nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price

Pros: very quiet, compatible with windows 7, fit easily into my dell inspiron 570 case, runs starcraft 2 smoothly with all settings on ultra (except for textures; on high) great price, even if the rebate never comes (purchased as a combo with OCZ 500w power supply for $110)

Cons: may be a little dated, but for the price i cant complain

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a Video Card, Runs Half Life 2 EP2 at 1920x1080 Never Slows Down

Pros: This card is an absolute monster! I hooked my PC to my 1080 HDTV via this card's HDMI (plugged the SPDIF into my MSI P55-CD53 motherboard), and this card played Half Life 2 Episode Two (the most graphically demanding one) and I couldn't believe my eyes to see it play at 1920x1080 resolution with ALL Video adjustments set to the highest settings (High and Very High), and it never slowed down below the 60FPS limit of my 60hz HDTV!

The HDMI audio never stuttered either, which is a pleasant change from my friend's ATI Radeon 5450HD which stutters the sound a LOT when you play games over HDMI.

nVidia has the best drivers too, compared to ATI whose CCC drivers require the ridiculous Microsoft .NET 2.0 package and load hundreds of MB of it into memory at startup! nVidia is pure C code, lean and mean.

Works awesome in Windows XP. I even Hibernated in HDMI at my TV then Resumed in DVI at my PC and it worked automatically! My friend's ATI stranded me on a black screen doing this.

Cons: The manual doesnt contain ANYTHING mentioning the 6 pin PCI-E power connector... leaving me to wonder if it even has to be connected? I did to be safe, but ...?

The heat sink fan looks like a proprietary design that I can forsee , years down the road, when it wears out and becomes noisy, I won't be able to source an easy replacement... However most video cards are like this.

Other Thoughts: Nice blue plastic caps for the HDMI, DVI, and VGA ports to seal dust off.

Just works great! I LOVE nVidia's ForceWare drivers for Windows XP. No fooling around.

By far the most powerful video card I've ever seen... but I'm not a high end gamer. Back in the day I dropped well over $300 for 2 state of the art 3Dfx Voodoo2 12MB in SLI just to get 1024x768 at 30 FPS. This $89 card does 1920x1080 at wayyy over 60 FPS!!

Half Life 2 "Source Engine" games look incredible, the flashlight casts real time shadows on the wall! If you walk behind a jail fence with a Flashlight, the fence posts move on the wall as you strafe sideways.

I never heard the Fan either, so that's a good thing. GPU-Z reports all the stats no problem, if you like to monitor things.

5 out of 5 eggsRecommended for Starcraft II

Pros: *Price is right
*Specs make sense
*Seems to run cool - the GPU temp never goes above about 75C under load (extender furmark sessions)
*S/PDIF passthrough cables included
*Seems like a solid, sturdy build
*Not overly thick so you probably won't block all of your PCI slots. :)

Cons: *looks like it might be getting harder to find?

Other Thoughts: The card is obviously large but so are most comparable cards.

I have two of these in SLI but I only need one to run Starcraft II beautifully (high-ultra). Not much else to say about it. The gigabyte gamer HUD is kind of cheesy but apparently you can use it to O.C. the card. I haven't messed around with that.

Based on the specs, this is actually a better card than the new Gigabyte GeForce GT 240 which is replacing it. If you can, buy this card over the Gigabyte GV-N240D3-1GI GeForce GT 240 1GB 128-bit - especially if you want SLI.

Specs:
Phenom II X2 555 BE (unlocked to x4)
ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3
OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ600MXSP 600W
2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3320418AS (RAID 0)
Windows 7 64-bit
2x 2GB A-DATA DDR3 AX3U1600GB2G9-2G @ 1600
2x GIGABYTE GV-N98TGR-512I GeForce 9800 GT (SLI)
Antec Three Hundred ATX Mid Tower

5 out of 5 eggsA Deal

Pros: The 512 MB RAM combined with a 256 bit interface makes a perfect graphics card. It runs Star Craft II at maxed out graphic settings beautifully. I am running this card with a Core 2 Duo 2.93 Ghz, a Bio Star Mobo, Crucial Rendition RAM, and a Thermal Take 450W power supply. So far its fan is fairly quiet as well.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsmore than expected

Pros: pretty cheap for what you get, 512mb 256bit gddr3

comes with some software for minor overclocking, easy/simple to use

has hdmi and comes with s/pdif connector

Cons: the only problem i had was connecting the s/pdif to my mobo, but i guess thats not a fault of the card itself, merely my poorly labeled (and positioned) mobo.

Other Thoughts: I dont actually do too much gaming, but it ran starcraft II flawlessly (not that its too demanding of a game).

Overall, im happy i went for this card

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Value for what you get

Pros: Price (fingers crossed for the MIR)
Power (not a bad card, will play most modern games on high settings)
Reliability (gigabyte is probably your best option if you're in the market for a 9800 gt)
EASY to overclock (and for the price, why wouldn't you want to?)

Cons: cooling solution kinda sucks
could look cooler
doesn't cook me bacon

Other Thoughts: be sure to download the EVGA Precision utility to control this bad boy (and overclock if desired)

I'm playing battlefield 2 maxxed out with 8X AA and it's smooth as silk.

Just buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsThe G92 chip continues to impress

Pros: Price with rebate can't be beat, reasonably good stock cooler, good history with Gigabyte (both usage & support), hardware automatically ramps up clock speeds when 3D is needed, stock core clock is 600MHz, not 550MHz as the specs say

Cons: With latest nVidia drivers, the fan defaulted to 5%. I had R***Tuner installed anyway, so I bumped it up and even at 100%, it was fairly quiet. Another odd thing is that there is a cooling pad between the cooler surface and only one of the 8 RAM modules. Why only one?

Other Thoughts: My first card was DOA, but I chalk that up to luck of the draw with PC components. Newegg's turn-around was good, as always. What I got the second time was one sweet overclocker. With stock cooling, I got the core up to 740 and the memory to 1000MHz. Later, I added a Vantec Iceberq 6 (CCB-A6C) and the temps improved a bit, but 740MHz seems to be the max stable core clock. I'll take it for the price paid =)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang-for-buck!

Pros: - Surprisingly fast!
- SLI Ready and Willing
- Very Inexpensive, Reliable Rebate program
- Specs for card were unexpected, see "Other Thoughts" below.

Cons: - Gigabyte Gamer HUD doesn't always launch properly at Win 7 64 Startup, throws an error, but simply launching it from the menu fixes this.
- Read Rebate submission information carefully, "Packing List" means the slip that came in the box from Newegg, not the UPS Packing List, which I submitted and was rejected, I was given a second change to submit however.

Other Thoughts: Manufacturer: nVidia
Series: GeForce 9
GPU: G92
Release Date: 2008-07-29
Interface: PCI-E 2.0 x16
Core Clock: 600 MHz
Shader Clock: 1500 MHz
Memory Clock: 900 MHz (1800 DDR)
Memory Bandwidth: 57.6 GB/sec
FLOPS: 336 GFLOPS
Pixel Fill Rate: 9600 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate: 33600 MTexels/sec
