5 out of 5 eggsInsane...

Pros: Have two of these in a CrossfireX setup. They eat up everything I can possibly throw at them (from Crysis at 5640x1024 (3 x 1280x1024 in Eyefinity) to Milkyway@Home). No issues whatsoever (no driver problems, no artifacts, nothing). Overclocks very well.

Also works as a room heater at this time of year...

Cons: None so far

4 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

Pros: Really powerful performance. Quiet when idle.

Cons: The card is expensive, big, and runs warm. The included drivers seemed really old. Takes up two case slots.

Other Thoughts: The prospect of running three monitors with Eyefinity seems cool. Some freebies game-wise would have been nice.

2 out of 5 eggsCan't wait for it to work

Pros: Nice looking box. The only reason for the (2) eggs was NewEgg's painless return policy.

Cons: My first card didn't work. Even after uninstalling the prior graphics card's driver (Nvidia GTX 295) and updating my BIOS all I got was a black screen. R.M.A it back to newegg. Hopefully the second card works.

Other Thoughts: Can't wait to play on three screens

5 out of 5 eggsFast card

Pros: This is a blazing fast card. A must buy if you want to play all the current games in DirectX 11 max settings. Crysis... piece of cake :P

Cons: Runs hot, very hot.

Other Thoughts: -Noisy when using 100% of fan.
-This card is big, make sure it fits in your case. I have a Cooler Master HAF 932.

5 out of 5 eggswhat an upgrade

Pros: I upgraded from a 4-port 2gb ati pro workstation card. got 3 of these cards running on crossfire on my mobo in order to power a 5-screen 3d editing workstation. With the Eyefinity, it gets surprising FPS on all displays. i expected lower FPS, which it did, but not by much even though the other 2 pci express 2.1 card slots were x8 max. With one card and one display i get up to 48 fps, with all cards and all displays I get an average of about 37. not bad.

Let's just say, for layman's terms, i can run any game, any 3d program, any 1080p anything on full settings just on one card with 2 monitors. and same deal when its on all my cards and monitors.

Cons: o my f***in lord these are huge. went about 1/4 inch past my full atx board. thank goodness my case is pretty long. id be f***ed.

HEAT!! even with my 5 case fans, 2 ddr3 mem fans, HD fan and liquid cooling processor fan i had to buy yet one more! they kicked up the temp about 25 deg. F, but i guess its cuz i got 3. put a pci slot exhaust fan in there and now its back to normal. I also needed to upgrade bios to allow manual fan support. something i did not need to do on my old card. ah well.

It was difficult trying to get the driver to run well on my Debian Lenny. the open source ati obviously had much less framerate. Had to do some googling in order to find ati's official driver for this card for *nix, but then had to resort to calling ati. The tech support directed me to a workstation graphics driver. guess the hd 5000 series is similar to the firepro 7000 series. very interesting.

Other Thoughts: this card quadrupled my work speed. It gave me better, higher quality design schemes, and I am just glad my job allows me to work from home. It allows me to use the power for flight simulating and other massive-graphical games, which i can now run at max.

if you are shopping for ati cards, and you wish to crossifre, MAKE SURE IT HAS EYEFINITY! The data transfer on the system will enable much higher framerates and in some cases resolution.

also, one trick to get insane 3d, which im sure you all would like, is to NOT OVERCLOCK YOUR AMD PROCESSOR. this will lower the embedded graphics cache, and overall lower all graphics. unless you do not have a graphics cache on the processor, in which case go for it.

it may seem expensive, but no. worth every penny

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great card, plays Crysis at 50 fps on max 1920x1200. Direct X 11 Games look incredible. Received the package on the 2nd business day after ordering

Cons: VERY large. I had to remove one side of my HDD racks to give it enough room to fit in my box. This card is 14 inches long. Not much pretense of value at this price point.

Other Thoughts: For a die hard enthusiast this is the card to have at the moment.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, Reliable, Cool

Pros: Great solution for high performance computing, aesthetically pleasing, matches the Asus Crosshair IV color scheme. If you are considering 2 5870s vs a single 5970, at stock speeds the 2 5870s will outperform;however an overclocked 5970 can be just as fast if not faster. If you only have 1 PCI slot for graphics just get the 5970. The quality of the card seems very high, It won't be outdated until DX12. Play everything maxed out, and bends Crysis right on over. You won't be disappointed. Overclocks well, really well. Just find the AMD Overvolt tool and there are some really good overclocking guides that take this thing to the next level.

Cons: This thing is bigger than my 295!

Other Thoughts: I Want 2 of these cards!

5 out of 5 eggsAwsomeness

Pros: This card is amazing!!!!!! Im having absolutely no issues with it. Plays all of my games maxed, and is still asking for more. I purchased 1 card and loved the performance so much, that i had to run and buy another one. AMAZING!!!! Right now i have both cards oc'd at 900 mhz core clock and 5000mhz memmory clock (1250 mhz x4). I think i'm going to try and push it even farther.

Cons: instead of putting two 5850 gpus on these cards (5970 in general) they should come with two 5870 gpus. Thats the only con i could possibly come up with.

Other Thoughts: Asus Formula IV
Phenom 965 ocd at 4.2ghz
OCZ SSD SATA III
GSKILL 2000 mhz CL9
x2 gigabyte 5970 @ 900/1250
antec 1200 quatro PSU
antec 1200 shell

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Runs everything maxed out with room to breathe. Increased bluray copy speed by 5x from my 5770.

Cons: Large enough to divide a room with. Fan at 100% is extremely loud. However, at normal settings it is barely audible and running cool.

Other Thoughts: For those people that have fan issues, try seating the fan by pressing it in place.
