Serious gamers require serious gear. That is why Gigabyte has developed the Super Overclock Series. All of the GPUs in these graphics cards have been cherry-picked for top performance, efficiency and reliability. Innovative GPU Gauntlet Sorting selection process ensures that only the highest-performing GPU processors are used for these graphics cards. Coupled with Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable VGA boards, users can rest assured that the Super Overclock Series graphic cards will not let them down as they enter the digital battleground.

The GV-N470SO-13I features overclocked 700MHz Core Clock (standard 607MHz) and Gigabyte’s WINDFORCE 3X, 14 phase PWM design, OC Guru graphic card smart tuner and voltage read point. Coupled with GTX 470’s full Microsoft DirectX 11 support and NVIDIA PhysX, CUDA, SLI and 3D Vision technologies, the GV-N470SO-13I enables immersive, realistic visuals and explosive HD gaming performance so you can dominate the competition.

  • newegg GIGABYTE GPU Gauntlet Sorting Gigabyte’s proprietary database analysis system evaluates the GPU core engine, shader engine, and memory, and selects the qualified GPU processors for upcoming maximum overclocking ability and stability test using proprietary professional testing toolkit and Graphics benchmark (FurMark and 3DMark Vantage). Final power switching and stability test will pick up those GPUs with the best power efficiency and lowest power consumption, which are qualified for the Super Overclock Series. Thus, the Super Overclock Series have been factory overclocked at optimal stability point (Super OC point), an exact balance between high frequency and efficient power consumption.
  • newegg WINDFORCE 3X: Anti-turbulence Cooling WINDFORCE 3X features 3 ultra quiet PWM fans. The special inclined triple-fan design effectively minimizes the flow of turbulence between three fans. With a unique vapor chamber, WINDFORCE 3X is able to transfer heat from the hot spot to the cool spot as thermal energy becomes evaporated to the surrounding air. By capillary action, the condensed liquid droplets circulate back to the base of chamber. The cycles of evaporation and condensation enhance heat dissipation for greater cooling efficiency. Moreover, WINDFORCE 3X is equipped with three copper heat pipes to strengthen the speed of heat dissipation.
  • newegg Ultra Durable VGA + Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable VGA+ features 5+1 quality components to support top performance in graphics benchmarking. Its five units of NEC Proadlizer (also known as film capacitor) are able to provide 1.6 times purer power supply compared to traditional power design for super overclocking ability.
  • newegg Pure Power Architecture Unlike Standard GTX 470 graphics cards using five power phases, the Gigabyte GV-N470SO-13I features a 14 phase PWM design with 12 for the GPU and 2 for memory, leading to more stable system and better overclocking capability. 12 power phase status LED indicators indicate graphics card’s current power phase, helping users monitor power consumption.
  • newegg OC Guru – Graphic Card Smart Tuner Gigabyte’s graphics card tweaking utility OC Guru puts together the best combination of software/hardware overclocking, with 3 profiles to cater to users’ different needs - OC (for overclocking mode), Gaming (for gaming mode), and Green (for power saving mode). Gigabyte’s distinctive adjustable software offers gamers to adjust tuners for memory, voltage, and fan speed.
  • newegg Voltage Read Point Gigabyte’s specific voltage read point allows users to change the voltage simply through software instead of manually adjusting any components on PCB, offering hardcore gamers an ultimate benching experience at overclocking competition. It is easy for overclockers to master the platform and monitor GPU workload at any time just through voltage read point.

2 out of 5 eggsReview

Pros: Great performance for many games played (genres mostly played: MMO and RTS). Not as bad on heat as thought before purchase. Handles all games on top settings for most (95%) of environments, but the fans working harder is noticeable. Never had a problem with card 'crashing' during play.

Cons: Card can be unstable around start up. Approximately 8% of computer starts, video locks up. Sometimes it shows the starting Windows screen in psychedelic waves (effectively locked) and other times after logging in to Windows and manually starting a program (not tied to any specific program) the screen will go black and will not come back until power cycle (effectively start up twice).

Other Thoughts: PS: Corsair - Enthusiast Series CMPSU-850TX 850W

1 out of 5 eggsSo close to being awesome

Pros: Lower power usage, quieter, more overclocking options.

Cons: Quality/stability.

Other Thoughts: I got two of these, both were not stable at stock speeds. It's really caught me off guard because they really emphasize that they use better quality components and a non-reference PCB to give better performance. My thought is though that they just simply cut things too close. Both cards I got were not able to pass a simple OCCT GPU test. My overclocked Zotac GTX 470 can handle it just fine ( 760Mhz GPU/ 1920Mhz Mem). I have been very disappointed in the quality of these cards considering I have been a Gigabyte use for years and have never had any problems.

1 out of 5 eggsBUYER BEWARE

Pros: "WHEN" it works, it's fast.

Cons: BEWARE OF GIGABYTE!

I've already RMA'd this card once because it locked up constantly with artifacts on the screen, or would lock up at boot up time.

I received my RMA'd video card back, with the same serial number, but didn't receive any communication as to whether they had fixed any problem or done anything at all.

Now, I'm back to lockups during games and lockups during boot time.

While the card was being RMA'd, I used a GTX 8800 without any problems.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GIGABYTE PRODUCT.

Other Thoughts: I have a Gigabyte motherboard, a Corsair 750W power supply, and a well vented Thermaltake case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Three working Fans

I like this GPU. just waiting for the price to to drop into the 1xx area do i can run SLI with these.

Cons: Fans are facing down... shouldn't they be facing up? thats where heat goes... up.

Other Thoughts: The green and orange led lights make my case look nice in a ALL blue set up... :)

Software can be improved or remade into a better one. something that will be usful to the user. wouldn't they like us to buy there GPU card and then RAVE about their Software that came with it or do they rather hear us say, software stinks and MSI Afterburner is way better??

WORK ON MAKING A COMPLETE BETTER SOFTWARE AND THEN RELEASE IT TO US!

5 out of 5 eggsking's chip

Pros: Great perfromance, on par with 570 gtx
Tessellation, dx11, shader model 5, 1280 mb ram
Run stone giant demo, unigine, endless city to see what its all about, what tessellation & displacement mapping can do for detail and overall polygon count

Cons: a little warm (45 C idle, 70s C load), recommend running a scaling autofan profile with a program like msi afterburner or evga precision

thought the software was garbage, dont need to use it tho

Other Thoughts: idles cooler than my gtx 260 in the same antec 1200 case

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card, But Long

Pros: - Runs cooler than reference GTX 470, 37°C @ Idle, 90°C @ full load.
- Runs every game I throw at it, including Dirt 3, Homefront, BFBC2, MOH etc. maxed on 1920x1080
- OC'ed to 805, 1610, 1425 with head room still available.
- Fits well in the mATX InWin Dragon Slayer Case, about 1.5" to spare

Cons: - Cooler design blows hot air throughout the inside case rather than straight out. At the same time the design successfully keeps this cooler than reference fermi's
- Long, make sure you have room in your case. The card is 11.5" long

Other Thoughts: @ Righteous Fury - Your heat build up problem is likely due to dust build up on the gpu cooler. Simply take the card out and give the cooler a good vacuuming until you cant see any more dust.

I have had mine for 6 months and the temps are still consistent. I noticed in my old case, that didn't have dust filters, the temps would start to raise and a vacuuming the gpu would remedy this. Just wear and anti static bracelet or ground yourself while doing this so you don't fry your card.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great, for awhile...

Pros: Decent price to performance

Cons: HEAT
Size
Weight
...did I say heat?

Other Thoughts: After 3 months, this thing has started to run over 100 celsius constantly. I have yet to find the reason. I have changed nothing since putting this systems together, other then updating the driver, which I rolled back once this started to occur, to no avail. At this rate, the card will likely burn itself out soon. I really do not know what to do, and thus far, Gigabyte support has been of no help.
