5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: I have purchased three of these cards from Newegg in the past year and have never had a problem with any of them. All three are being utilized on Windows 7 machines with the Nvidea 280.26 ( driver. GPU temps are in low 30's at idle never exceeding 50 under load. 2D and 3D performance are excellent. Sorry to hear others are are experiencing problems with this card.

Cons: None for me.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly thing worse then the card is support

Pros: It's pretty. I might hang it on the wall.

Cons: After several months with this card it started to act up. Video driver would start to crash. It tooks weeks back and forth with tech support to get an RMA. Of course I paid to ship it to them, and waited weeks to get the card back. Then about 6 weeks after I got the card in again, it started to act up again. They may have even returned the same card I sent without doing anything.

Other Thoughts: So do I start the 2 month process of trying to get the card replaced again? I think I'm going to cut my looses at this point. I can't stand the thought of fighting with tech support again. I think I'll just buy an ATI card not made my Gigabyte.

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Pros: Ever since the 500 series came out, the best things about these cards is the price. Two fans seemed appealing, and having two DVI ports with an HDMI (mini) gives lots of options.

Cons: Where oh where do I start? I bought two of these for an SLI setup. They didn't really work when I got them, having a number of issues to begin with. Stupid me, I didn't RMA them right then and there, but I am a certified professional PC technician with years of experience and I thought I could fix them. After switching the cards positions on the mobo, they worked okay for about 2 weeks, and then I started having driver issues. I re-installed the latest driver and it seemed to fix the issue for a while. This continued until the problem got so bad that I tired installing the latest driver from Gigabyte's site (as opposed to Nvidia,) and that didn't help any. The death rattle of these cards was my screen turning into black and white pixels that looked like the snow on a TV. Needless to say, they wouldn't work after that. I was beyond the 30 day return limit from Newegg, so I turned to Gigabyte for support. They approved an RMA and I had to ship the cards to them...

Other Thoughts: (...continued) at my own expense. They kept them for a while and finally returned them, literally, saying they have been "tested". They worked for two days before the same issues that I sent them in with came back, although this time the pixel snow was in technicolor. I contacted Gigabyte again and demanded 'new' cards, which they finally approved and were nice enough to send a pre-paid shipping label for the two bad cards. A long time later, they sent me two different cards, same model though. I installed them in my machine and launched World of Warcraft when immediately turned my screens blank and crashed my computer. Rebooting the computer crashed trying to load the OS. I swapped out the video cards for the ATI 4670s I have on hand and everything's fine. I'm expecting a refund from Gigabyte, but bottom line for you reading this, this is a bad card design, there is no support, conclusion: AVOID THESE CARDS AT ALL COSTS!!!

4 out of 5 eggsSLI?

Pros: I have two of these boys bought separately within about 3 months of each other and both are running flawless without any problems.

Cons: I wish it came with a freakin SLI Bridge, it's hard to find one alone without digging around the internet and having to wait another week to get it.

Other Thoughts: I can't find a SLI bridge!

1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte support worthless

Pros: 2/3 cards work

Cons: 1/3 cards BSoD, fuzzy desktop, video only in safe mode.

Support sucks. They've been jerking me around for almost 2 more weeks, their only suggestions are to try the card in another machine, try the BETA drivers, and maybe windows update caused it. Now they are out of "ideas" and referred me to another department's email address.

Same problems after RMA "repair", card "tested". WORTHLESS support!!!

Other Thoughts: Did I mention support is WORTHLESS?

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Card Ever

Pros: Worked good for couple months the first time. Sent it to gigabyte they said there was nothing wrong with it. Once I got it back it froze as soon as windows screen came up. RMA it back to them replaced with same card and this one lasted 2 days.

Cons: Freezes on 3 of my system. I also tried my in-laws and friends computer froze on all their computers also.

Other Thoughts: If gigabyte can not figure it out I will be done buying any of their products. So hopefully this next RMA goes smoother.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and cheap card.

Pros: This is a very good video card. Can run a lot of games at the highest settings. May not be the highest end video card, but still an amazing choice for the casual gamer. Runs Fallout 3 without a hiccup.

Cons: You need an alright CPU/processor for this amazing video card to run flawlessly. Anything above 2.9 GHz is enough to run most modern day games at highest settings.

Other Thoughts: Great card, I'd recommend it to anybody.

4 out of 5 eggsIf you're having issues with this card...

Pros: A Gig of GDDR5 memory, SLI Supproted, It's not an ATI, Nice price for a low-end GPU. Fairly quiet.

Cons: Can't do 4-way SLI. Only 2-way SLI is supported. IMO, this card runs a little on the hot side. 76C=168.8F!!! If you've gotten yours over 76C you might want to consider replacing the Thermal compound on the heat-sink. The factory compound gets hard quickly at high temps. Too many hot-n-heavy gaming sessions and your card might start giving you fits and crashing because the GPU is overheating at idle due to the thermal compound hardening and not transferring the heat to the heat-sink. This is something I've seen with several GeForce-based GPUs from a number of manufacturers.

Also, after reading several of the reviews I noticed 2 things:
1) When people talk about downloading the latest driver from NVIDIA and how they don't work, I have to laugh at you. These cards are only BASED on NVIDIA's chip-sets.
If Gigabyte built the card, you HAVE TO GET THE DRIVERS FROM GIGABYTE. Using drivers from a different manufacturer might cause more problems and even damage the GPU. Don't mix-n-match!

Other Thoughts: I also saw in several reviews that people running Win7 seem to be having the most issues. Here's a thought: Go back to XP! OK, set up a dual-boot and load XP. Do all the updates and bring all the hardware up to date too. I'm talking BIOS updates, micro-code for your HDDs and burners, sound cards, Mice\joysticks, your MONITOR and anything that can possibly be updated. Do these things BEFORE installing the card in XP. Then do a clean install of the latest driver from Gigabyte and proceed to test for stability. If you can't make it crash in XP then the problem isn't with this card, it's with your other hardware.
Now that your hardware is up-to-date, try running Win7 again and see if you can crash it. If you do crash it, you may want to try a clean install of Win7 and repeat the XP experiment steps, installing the video drivers last on a clean install. These basic steps could mean the difference between enjoying your favorite games or filling out an RMA request.
Good luck. Hope this help

2 out of 5 eggsDriver issues

Pros: Good price, nice looking card, two fans and runs cool. I'm usually very satisfied with Gigabyte products so not sure what happened with this one.

Cons: Started using in early April and only had about 1.5 months before continuously getting error messages about the display driver stopped responding and has recovered. I originally installed the drivers that came on the disk (ver. 259.22) and also updated to the the most recent ones on Gigabyte's website (Ver. 265.58) and continue having the same issue. I even moved to another mother board slot resulting with still the same issue. Problem seems to be getting worse.

Other Thoughts: I contacted tech support and they did respond quickly but didn't really get much support. They told me to use the latest drivers even though I specifically told them I already was. They then immediately suggested I submit an RMA which is what I'm doing.
