5 out of 5 eggsGood Video For Current Price

Pros: Purchased this unit for my personal Media PC and it has served us for almost a year now with no issues at all and this PC runs 24x7 at all times. Our media PC is in my office at home and I have the HDMI out connected to my Mits 65" DLP 3D TV and I could not ask for more as I use it. Even the 3D content when I use the Blu-Ray in the PC looks just as good as it does when played through my Samsung 5500 3D DVD player. I run the output of this card to my Onky NR-616 receiver and then the receiver to my TV and have had to issues witht the Onky and the last 2 video cards I tried in the media PC had issues with the Onky keeping HDMI Sync, this one speaks the same language as the Onky finally.
I also keep a 19" PC monitor attached at all times mounted in my A/V rack.

Cons: None really, not a gamer so I can't speak to how it performs in that arena but with 160 streams and PCIe 2.1, Direct X 11, I would think it would do fairly well when mated up with the right combination of motherboard, cpu and memory on a single monitor.

Other Thoughts: Just a rock steady card with great video that will produce a fantastic picture on a HD TV with HDMI and Full HDCP also. Passes every audio we have threw at it, HD, HD Master Audio, etc with no problems at all. Full 1080p video with no artifacts anywhere in the video.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Basic HD Card

Pros: Got this for my wife's PC which has a middle of the road dual core Intel and a single hard drive in an inexpensive Lenovo package box. The built in graphics were just OK for browsing but it was a bottleneck. This is the overclock version though that seems odd since it would be better to get a more powerful card than to try and push this one to the limit. Taken for what it is, it works quite well.

Though they claim you should have a 400 watt or better PSU, this Lenovo box came with a 200 watt PSU and the card runs fine for browsing and streaming movies from Netflix. My wife does some light gaming and it works well. Overall a good budget card capable of full HD and draws little power, and Gigabyte products usually last a long time. If you want to upgrade from some low end built-in graphics this could be the ticket.

Cons: None really since I am not expecting a $35 card to perform like a $300 card. Folks complaining that it might not be able to keep up with some games probably should have bought a higher end card to begin with.

Other Thoughts: Had no problems installing the latest drivers and Catalyst control center software as I skipped the included disk and just downloaded the latest package from AMD and it installed normally.

If you want a decent low end card then this one is fine for the money, but if you are a gamer, then you'll need to spend considerably more for a powerful GPU to satisfy those needs.

Overall you are getting a well made card that will give you full HD, and work fine for everything except moderate and above gaming, and it comes at an affordable price.

3 out of 5 eggsSorta low profile

Pros: Quality video
Lowish profile, bracket included
Quiet fan

Cons: You lose VGA connection using in low profile
No DVI-D adapter included
Vertical VGA pinout extends higher than the bracket

Other Thoughts: Although I have a low profile bracket for the ribboned VGA port, the ribbon is too short to allow its use in an adjoining slot.

Affter purchasing a DVI-D to VGA adapter, it worked fine until I tried to move it to a new, narrower case.

The VGA pinout extends vertically 1/4" higher than the pcb card and bracket and touched the case side panel. I had to cut off the pins.

If the VGA pins were mounted horizontaly to one side rather than vertically the VGA port cable would have been usable in low porfile as well.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job and does it well.

Pros: Easy to set up.
Does a great job for the price.

Cons: Drivers were a hassle for me.

Other Thoughts: When I first used this card, everything seemed fine, drivers installed correctly, everything was perfect. I turn off my machine, and it suddenly decided to freeze every time I reach my log in screen, even when I boot into safe mode. I resorted to reverting back to my old card, uninstalling the new card's drivers, then re-installing the drivers, ever since then I have not had a single problem with this card. It might not play demanding games like BF3 as well as I'd like it to, but it's still good enough for my budget build.

5 out of 5 eggsGood so far!

Pros: *Low Power
*Single slot
*Idles anywhere between 30c to 40c (decent cooler)
*1GB memory
*Works in a pic-e x16 slot at x4 bandwidth just fine
* quiet
*Overclocks well for being so cheap
*Plays some games a relatively good FPS
*Gold Plated HDMI port (but VGA and DVI isn't)
*Fits in slim line cases
*shipping was vary good, and vary fast, unlike the 2nd day air from UPS

I just got this thing today and was messing around with it, Reason I bought it because my HD5850 has a flicker problem with dual monitors, Can't seem to even fix that with a bios mod it seems. I plugged the card in a pci-e x16 slot running at x4 bandwidth and it seems to run pretty good. shockingly it even ran bf3 at low settings keeping it above 50fps, shocking really. So far clocked the core to 800mhz, and memory to 900mhz and its running really well, with room to spare.

Cons: *Does not come with a DVI to VGA adapter
*The DVI port does not allow you to hook up just any adaptor or cable, the port does not have 4 pins on the 1 end on the bigger pin, real bummer but the VGA still worked just fine, no delay like the old 5450.
*The card was not secured in the Gigabyte box, so it moved freely. (not much of a con)
*Giant manual that is almost pointless. Most was in different language.
*The ribbon for the VGA port looks kinda cr@ppy, but I knew that.
*Not all ports are gold plated, only the HDMI (good idea, since it also carry's the audio signal, less noise/ststic)

Other Thoughts: System:
AMD Phenom II 1100T 3.9ghz 2912mhz CPU-NB
Corsiar H60 with push pull config 110cfm
8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 1792mhz
ASRock 970 Extreme 3
Gigabyte HD5850 OC/Gigabyte HD6450 OC
Wireless Lan Card
Caviar Black 1TB/Seagate Barracuda 1TB/Seagate LP 2TB
Thermaltake V9 Black Edition (poor wiring management) lol

1 out of 5 eggsBCCode 116 - ARGH!

Pros: Cheap, low profile, great set of connectors, quiet, no dedicated power lead needed from PSU

Cons: BCCode 116 BSOD errors every time from a clean Windows 7 install as soon as I install the latest Radeon drivers with or without the Catalyst front end. ARGH!

Other Thoughts: Trying to build a secondary HTPC around this card. Have an older Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L motherboard with an E8400 CPU and 4x 1GB of memory that this would be perfect for. Figured "Gigabyte to Gigabyte - what could go wrong?" Nope. Installed Windows 7 from scratch multiple times - sometimes loading all the Microsoft patches up first, THEN the AMD drivers for the card, sometimes not, etc. Could not avoid the dreaded BCCode 116 driver errors - worked great before the drivers were installed, but afterwards, forget it. Not a temp issue either; case open, 66°F ambient no load. I have an nVidia 520 card coming that I'll try out in this rig instead; if it gives me the same issues from a clean install, I'll post a mea culpa up here and up the rating, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

4 out of 5 eggsGood not Great

Pros: good for HD Videos, ok at games

Cons: laggy when on high settings in games.

Other Thoughts: overall good quality picture. great for high def movies but only ok at high def gaming. overclocked it and now it can barely play Skyrim on very high setting. good for the price but im looking to crossfire with another to boost performance

2 out of 5 eggsBad design

Pros: Inexpensive. Performance about as expected

Cons: Poor low profile design. VGA connector pins add height to low profile. Couldn't get case to close properly. Had to return. Be sure to include free AMD software coupon or will get billed for it!!!
