5 out of 5 eggsGood entry level card

Pros: Got this for my dads computer and it still works after 18 months. HDMI out and HDCP ready so he can hook his comp up to his big screen and watch a video. No fan to die, and no heat issues.

Cons: 1080p video seems to stutter slightly over the HDMI connection when he uses the 40" Tv, but it plays fine on his 24" monitor, may be an issue with his Tv.

2 out of 5 eggsONE MONITOR ONLY

Pros: Not much -- sucks.

I could find good to learn CUDA computing in LINUX as a secondary card when not using it for graphical output with no monitors hooked up.

Cons: NOT GREAT FOR LINUX!!!! OUT of the BOX ONLY ONE MONITOR WILL WORK. ALL resolutions will get massively messed up.

good to learn CUDA computing as a secondary card. Card got recognized by kernel

Other Thoughts: Get it if you wont use it as a display but as a FERMI CUDA core device.

1 out of 5 eggsVery poor PC board layout, NOT FOR LP SYSTEMS

Pros: Don't know yet. Card won't fit in Low Profile systems such as the HP dc5750 and HP dc5850 business systems that Newegg frequently sells if one needs to use the VGA connection; see the "Con" comment for more details.

Cons: If you need to use the VGA connection, be advised the card will NOT fit in Low Profile systems such as the HP dc5750 and HP dc5850 business systems that Newegg frequently sells. The problem is the board connector is vertical when the card is in a PCIe x16 slot and doesn't clear the system's cover; the cable itself is too short to be placed 2 slots over (from the PCIe card) due to the "thickness" of the heat sink. Someone at Gigabyte clearly didn't test this.

In contrast (and luckily I had one on-hand), an MSI LP card has the board connector for the cable running to the VGA connector properly configured so it easily clears the cover on my HP dc5850,

I wish I could post 2 pictures showing the problem, but it's (now) obvious if one examines the magnified picture of the card.

Other Thoughts: Newegg (or its vendors) should provide specs that show ALL of the dimensions of such products as configured for the intended usage. Again, it appears no one at Gigabyte truly tested this on Low Profile systems.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Works right out of the box. Large heatsink means one less noise coming from the desktop.

Cons: Swapping to low profile brackets difficult. The screw just above the HDMI was tagged with a bead of Locktite, making it nearly impossible for the 1mm screw to be removed without force.

Other Thoughts: Dear ATI, don't use Locktite on something you intend to be swapped out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC

Pros: This works great for my 'spare parts' home theater PC build. It supports audio over HDMI and if you enable NVidia's VDPAU extension, it can handle decoding all the video you playback leaving your CPU to handle other things. Well made card and stays plenty cool under load (~35c) in my case.

Cons: It does take 2 slots due to the heatsink, but Gigabyte did this really well by maximizing heat transfer surface, making it look good, and saving you from having to replace a crumby fan in 6 months. So, not really a con.

Other Thoughts: I would buy again - great price with rebate.

4 out of 5 eggsBest LP Video Card for the price

Pros: Easy to install. Great quality for LP video card.

Cons: Be warned, it takes up two slots with the heat sinks.
The cable to attach the VGA part for the LP bracket was too tall for my LP machine so I can't do dual screens with it. But I only needed the HDMI output.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs all my games on max or high settings (Red Orchestra, BF Vietnam, Street Legal Racing Red Line.) They are older games but require a decent graphics card. Heat sink is nice goes 36'C idle and 60'C when playing. Easy OC software.

Cons: -

Other Thoughts: Put an extra 120 mm fan in front of it to help with OC
I have the PCI Ex16 1.0 so my memory clock is limited to 720 MHZ

2 out of 5 eggsCool and Quiet. Not A Good Buy.

Pros: Large heatsink keeps it cool.

Cons: Takes up two slots because of large heatsink. AMD 4000 series built-in video is better.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: It stays cool.
It gets a 6.4 windows rating for 3d graphics.
Direct x 11.
Improved FPS a lot

Cons: Made my system seem kinda slow when first installed, but when I installed the drivers, windows knew what to do with it.

Other Thoughts: I have a fan sucking hot air off of it to help keep it cool. It stays around 45 degrees C. under load. Idles at about 30-35 degrees.
