1 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY!!!!

Pros: Cheap

Cons: High Defective rate. Outdated Bios

Other Thoughts: I bought this card and it had the known issue of white lines across the screen. I updated the bios and that fixed the lines but now I get Blue Artifacts all over the screen.

Don't buy this card

3 out of 5 eggsBIOS Needs Updated

Pros: Inexpensive.
(BIOS update utility downloaded from manufacturer's website was easy to use.)

Cons: Had to update BIOS from F21 to F22 to remove white line flicker in the top half of screen.

Other Thoughts: Went too cheap, for only $20 more could get much better specs.

3 out of 5 eggsBad QC from GB factory

Pros: The HDMI connection works flawlessly. There is little to complain for this card in its class of gpu once you eliminate the nasty screen flicker problem.

Cons: The F20 BIOS it came with needed to be updated to F22 version. I was ready to return the card when I came across a post in this product review that said how to eliminate the screen flicker problem by updating the BIOS of the GPU.

Well, it is one of the most difficult type of updates I had ever done. You need to download the proper BIOS and one app, that app will want to change the GPU setting to XP instead of Win-7 and then half of the info in its window will become semi-readable... along with the gpu doing its normal flicker as usual! One mistake and you might lose the gpu altogether on the next boot up.

Anyone contemplating buying this card should find that post which explains how to update the BIOS ... from F20 to F22 (or from F18 to F20, or similar) and understand how to do it.

Other Thoughts: I would have given it 5 eggs had it not been for the bad quality control on the part of Gigabyte. Didn't they test production batches before putting them out to distribution channels?

1 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE VIP Support Team

Pros: None

Cons: This is a follow-up review for GIGABYTE VIP Support Team.

The "personalized service and analysis" is absolutely not personalized. They did not bother to read my review.

I said in my last review that Gigabyte BIOS update did not fix the problem. With DVI, the screen is just completely dark. When I contacted them, they asked me "Does the flickering issue occur in windows or during POST/ BIOS screen?" in addition to a list of other generic questions.

In my last review I also said I gave up since Gigabyte will not pay both way shipping for replacing the defective card. When I asked “GIGABYTE VIP Support Team” the same question. They answer is to read their RMA policy.

What a waste of time again.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Cheap

Cons: DOA. Thought this would be an upgrade from my 9800GT card. Wrong. Got black screen. Tried multiple time but never work. Plugged in my old 9800GT card and the old card works so can't be my other equipment. Very disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Bought it two months ago with rebate. Didn't have time to install until now so too late to RMA. I guess I will have to deal with the manufacturer.

4 out of 5 eggscan be one star or five stars

Pros: cheap, has DVI, HDMI

Cons: slow video card, not better than builtin video card.

Other Thoughts: First all, there is flickering horizontal lines on LCD and it will never disappear without flashing new BIOS (F11). Flashing VBIOS is very risky with gigabyte's utilities. I do suggest you use ATIFLASH 3.9 from a USB flash disk, which is much safer.

Second, this video card is a low end card with HDMI and DVI interface. The performance of this card is pretty low, and overclocking (CORE 750MHZ, Memeory 650Mhz) is doable and stable, but will not make any difference as to performance.

3 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Read Other thoughts

Cons: Read Other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Dead on Arrival. It happens. I'm not going to give it one egg because of it, In the end I made a decision to RMA it for a refund, save up my money, and buy a higher quality card with either better Quality Control or Safer Shipping. Plugged into my motherboard of my rig I just bought all the parts to (this card was one of those). Was breadboxing it, shorted it to turn it on. PSU Glows blue and spins, CPU fans spin, I can hear the HDD on and the DVD Drive opens and closes. However the Graphics Card did not output video, and did not turn on. However later after testing I realzed that the motherboard itself was also DOA. (I only know the card was for sure a DOA because I happened to have a GeForce 210 on me, and although it didn't output video, the fans spinned, and the card was most definately on). Oh well, can't put One Egg just because it was a DOA. It happens to the most prestigious brands and their most expensive products.

5 out of 5 eggsNot Bad.

Pros: Paid $30. Got it to replace terrible integrated chipset in a friends pc and to run source games and does so beautifully. Runs on a 5-6 year old, mediocre 300w PSU. Has DVI, HDMI and VGA.

Cons: None.
