GIGABYTE GV-N640OC-2GI GeForce GT 640 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: I wanted the cheapest Triple Digital LCD capable card I could find, this was it, and it works as advertised. No dealing with Display Port adapter non-sense as with many other multiple monitor capable cards.

I have 3 22" Dell 1080P LCDs, 2 hooked up with DVI, 1 with HDMI to DVI. All working perfectly.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Not really a con, but if you use an HDMI to DVI adapter, it won't really fit next to the DVI plug without some modding...I cut the rubber around the HDMI adapter to reduce it's width and allow it to fit...working perfectly now.

You could always use a female to male HDMI cable to get around this issue.

Pros: When it did work the display was nice

Cons: The drivers did not work properly. Anytime I tried to reinstall the driver, it would crash my system and I would have to boot in safe mode. I had several other techs look at my computer and they said that it was just a bad video card. Also, there was no updates for the drivers in the month that I waited.

Other Thoughts: dont waste your time

Pros: Surprisingly fast for a low end card.. the fan is silent!. low power.

snappy on the desktop.

Cons: the digital outputs are a must for usage of this card, because...

the analog output (vga 16) or blue jack, my/your monitor will show " light wavy Interference lines in the background on light colored screens" it does not appear on the dvi-d outputs...

the dvi-d output can't use an Adapter on the dvi-d outputs to allow output to an analog monitor (using an adapter avoids the Interference lines problem)

Other Thoughts: the moirè patterns on the analog vga output is a moot problem, becase every monitor now have digital inputs.
it is just a heads up for those using analog monitors or the analog inputs on a monitor.

if you are a "second life" player this card is a perfect low end card, and by extension i would assume for "WOW"...

Pros: Can run 4 Multi-Monitors Extended

Easy Just Plug and Play

Other Thoughts: I only have one PCI-e slot and i needed to run 4 multiple monitors. I tired to install a pci video card and pci-e but on 64 bit windows 7 but i had nothing but trouble. So i need to find a card that could do 4 screens .

I was a little worried because of the price but this card is great it was just plug and play. I didnt have to configure anything my computer recognized it right away. I am now running 4 screens extended desktop.

For Gaming. I am a causal gamer. I have steam and i do play games. It runs my games smoothly. But i am also playing half life 2 an older game. I havent tried any newer games but i am not a hardcore gamer. So this card is perfect for me.

Pros: Small profile, easy to install, quiet

Cons: was expecting just a bit more out of this one based on the specs and reviews of this gpu

Other Thoughts: after a week ive had to request a rma as the card crashed and no longer responsive...based on my experience i would say be wary and perhaps spend a couple bucks more on a different card...

Pros: The card is only $99, you can get better cards for that but lets keep reading. 384 cuda cores gives it good power and at only 65w (you can put the 640 in a pc even if you dont have a powerful PSU). It runs cool 30c idle 40-45c at load. for light gaming it will do fine but dont expect much.

Cons: You can get better cards for a $99. It has a bad mem. bandwidth.
thats all I can see as a con as of now.

Other Thoughts: I am using this card as a physX card and for that purpose the 640 dose great. Its high cuda count is all that is needed for physX.

Pros: Good Price and the customer service at "Gigabyte" was outstanding

Cons: I Didn't get to use it and Dell customer service was terrible.

Other Thoughts: This Video Card is not compatible with the Dell XPS 8300. It Meets all requirements to be compatible, but possibly, the dell motherboard does not supply enough power to run this particular video card. I spoke with Dell directly and they don't know why. I spoke with Gigabyte directly and they tested the same video card in the exact same XPS 8300 plus they swapped out the power supply with a 750watt power supply and after several attempts to modify the bios, they could not get it to work either. Please inform your customers.

Pros: Price! Although this is the weak link on my new build I knew it would be. Just can't justify the prices of the high end video cards. Performed great out of the box. even as weak link it still scored a 7.2 running two 19" screens,

Cons: None so far.

Pros: All the latest tech has been included in this compact card. Four (4) display outputs (you can use 4 monitors without fuss). Cool, idles at 30C, doesn't go above 45C under load. Reasonably fast. It runs Crysis 2 fine @ 1366x768 on Extreme settings. Practical: full HDMI (no need to spend on additional adapters). Supports the latest generation of nVIDIA PureVideo HD (great for HTPC). Power-efficient, does not need any cables to run, feeds entirely from PCI-Express slot. Quiet (a 100mm fan runs at 48% @ 1500 RPM) but you can make it silent with a quick bios mod (at the expense of higher operating temps, of course). Overclocked out of box, it's a little faster than the usual stock models (with a littme memory overclocking, you can further tweak the card to match your particule needs). 2 gigs of VRAM, great for developing. Runs rock solid with 301.42 drivers.

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: Please, be aware that this card was not designed for high-resolution gaming (look for the 600 Series with GDDR5 memory onboard instead), in lower resolutions without AA, it's quite capable, though.

Pros: Good presentation, with protection over each connector, PCI-Express powered, good 3D Performance for it's price.

New nVidia Kepler architecture, ideal for CUDA and OpenCL GPGPU developper!

Cons: Nothing I could think of, maybe the fan is a little noisy

Other Thoughts: Having 2GB of VRAM is ideal for GPGPU development, I would dream of a Radeon HD7750 with such amount of RAM!
