WINDFORCE 2X 100mm Fansink equipped with "Triangle Cool" Technology GIGABYTE always dedicates to providing the best thermal solution for serious gamers. GV-N660OC-2GD features WINDFORCE 2X cooling technology which includes two 100mm inclined fans and four pure copper heat pipes. With 100mm fans, the card is virtually silent that its noise level runs 31dB at full loading. Each fan has 30.5 CFM airflow to enhance heat dissipation. With king-size fans and inclined fan design, heat can dissipate quickly by the most effective airflow. GIGABYTE WINDFORCETM 2X also adapts Direct Heat Pipe Touch technology. This means that heat pipes physically contact with GPU directly. Processor’s heat will transfer to heat pipes and fins more efficiently.

NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. Major upgrade from my GTX 460. Looks awesome. Cons: Might be a tad loud for some people but doesn't bother me. Other Thoughts: Lets face it, you came to the reviews to see what games it would run and what FPS you would be getting. Here are my specs so you can use them as a comparison. All games are running on the highest settings using 1050p (1680X1050). AMD FX-6300 (stock speed, 3.5ghz, stock heatsink), GTX 660, 8GB crucial ballistics DDR3 ram, 1TB HDD, Turbolink 500W power supply. GTA:IV - 70 fps, 30-40 fps w/ Ice enhancer+ultimate textures 2.0+realizm v6.2. I was wrong it fried the power supply after 5 mins. Now I have to purchase a new power supply. Only wholesale optimizations as deemed fit by Nvidia. * Only one free game (a terrible excuse for a con, I know) Other Thoughts: Originally purchased elsewhere, I bought this card because it was well-reviewed and had very few reports of RMA or defects. I've FINALLY been able to play all my favorite new games on ultra with no problems (Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, etc) - it's really great to see what the developers intended the game to look like. It's also pretty quiet for suich a large card (I went from an HD 5670 to the GTX 660 - big jump) Cons: Not much. I guess I could complain that it's not supported by Steam's "Update Drivers" function that's currently reserved for ATI cards... I do miss that. But that has nothing to do with the quality of this video card. Other Thoughts: A lot of games have PhysX support which is great if you have a strong Nvidia card. I know it's kind of unfair for ATI owners - I have been one of them for over 8 years. But I do definitely notice a difference in certain details with PhysX. I'm happy with my purchase... If you happen to get the rebate it's even better! Cons: The vibration noise mentioned by a few reviewers happened to me as well. A solution is a small piece of doubled up electrical tape placed between the cross piece under the left-most fan enclosure (closest to the video ports) and the heatsink. At first I was worried about heat affecting the tape but it seems to be doing well after multiple check-ups. The vibration noise has stopped completely. Not a problem at all! Still would have liked to see Gigabyte fix it. Other Thoughts: Buy it! Very powerful card for a mid-range price. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you? If all you want is a surround enabled card with some mid range quality then this is great Cons: If you're trying to get a really good surround setup with max quality this won't do.
