1 out of 5 eggsVsync doesn't work in Windows 7 Pro

Pros: Decent performance for the price.

Cons: AMD's Windows drivers are garbage. Vsync and triple buffering do not work at all in Windows 7 Pro. I get extreme tearing even at 30 FPS. (Strangely, these features work just fine in Linux.)

Other Thoughts: If AMD doesn't fix their drivers before my next graphics upgrade, I'll go crawling back to nVidia.

1 out of 5 eggsErrors... errors everywhere...

Pros: Sometimes it recovers from the crashes, leaving all kinds of artifacts on the screen, so that I can manually reboot. But just as often, it hard resets the whole machine.

Cons: Crashes. A lot. 15 times in the month of August alone, according to Window's error logs.

I bought it in November, the crashes started in February. It's been every other day since then, some times more than once in a single day. I actually bought 2 and the other works fine. If you're considering buying, those don't sound like great odds.

Other Thoughts: GIGABYTE customer service says they don't believe me (even with details from the crash logs and documentation of those crashes) and I have to pull the card out and ship it to them in order for them to consider honoring the warranty. But it'll take a week to ship and then, they say, THREE WEEKS to make a determination. So they might decide to just send it back to me. That means I could be without my computer for over a month and still not end up any better off.

I will not be buying another GIGABYTE product again.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Correcting my Earlier Commentary: See 2 Star Rating "Works well on linux"

I found after extra testing a bit of inspiration. Ignore the suggestion on Gigabyte's website. This card was only stable for me with the versions of drivers available through Gigabyte's website and the disk that came with it.

Cons: See earlier comments

2 out of 5 eggsGood Card, Bad Driver Support from ATI

Pros: Works great on Linux, good profile, well designed, runs very cool even with a little overclocking.

Cons: Does not function with Windows 7 ATI Drivers, at all. Constant crashes and can't even handle aero functionality in Windows 7.

This problem is widespread and easily found in google. Some of the fixes out there work for some people, none of them worked for me. Spent the last 48 hours doing nothing but playing with driver tweaks, voltage settings to the GPU, and reformatting my drives. Stil do not have it working for longer than 40 min at a time.

Other Thoughts: If ATI were to fix this 3 year old issue with their driver sets, or you are going to install this on a system that is not running one of the commonly affected OS's then I recommend this card. But as it does not work well with Windows 7 I cannot recommend this for most users.

3 out of 5 eggsHuge for a budget card

Pros: Quiet, 2GB ram, good performance, 2 dual DVIs, price

Cons: This card is gigantic. I understand building a PC around a video card, but that only makes sense with a high end video card and this is a budget card. Pay close attention to the physical dimensions.

Would also rate higher if ATI had better Linux support (nVidia isn't great, but better).

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great but...

Pros: Running this card with 2x22" monitors. Everything is clear and looks very nice.

Cons: I got this in order to setup 3 displays using one card. Was recommended from another site to get this. In the details of the card it states that it is Eyefinity compatible and has a display port. That was enough for me, but after getting it in, there is no display port and looking it up on Gigabyte's site it does not have Eyefinity

Other Thoughts: This would be a good upgrade or replacement for a busted card with decent power. Just false advertisement on new egg's part. I will call them to see what can be done.

3 out of 5 eggsDriver Problems

Pros: Very nice card, has nice outputs and performs well.

Cons: Has driver issues. Play WoW and every 10 minutes, you get "Driver has stopped responding and recovered" and crashes the game, as well as whatever other programs you have running. It plays the game very well, then out of nowhere, *crash*

Other Thoughts: AMD blames the programs you run for the issues with driver problems in their knowledgebase.. It's strange that nVidia doesn't seem to have this issue.

4 out of 5 eggsNice card

Pros: The card seems to have good features, runs good right out of the box, good deal for the price.

Cons: Neither Newegg nor the Gigabyte packaging tell you that the DVI ports are DVI-D, your average DVI adapters and cables will not work. The difference is that on DVI-A and DVI-I there are 4 pins by the blade on the plug. DVI-D will not accept them and your adapter won't fit. Turns out, DVI-I can relay both analog and digital signals. DVI-A can pass only analog, but DVI-D will only pass digital.

Other Thoughts: I have not had the chance to test the performance yet, as I can't hook my gaming monitor (2nd display) to the card, because I need yet another adapter. *facepalm*

4 out of 5 eggsGood performance

Pros: It runs very cool, quiet, and is high performance. It will run most games including Battlefield 3 and Metro 2033 at ultra or high settings even at low settings. 1080p doesn't work on many titles very well on this card however.

Cons: It gets display driver errors every now and then. I checked to make sure it was installed correctly, and it was so I called up Gigabyte and basically told me they don't know what to do.
