3 out of 5 eggsNice Card, but Died at the 2 year mark

Pros: -Worked very well and gave good frames with any game I threw at it.

Cons: -Finally died after 25 months..
Out of the blue the card stopped sending a signal to my monitor and the fans started blowing full blast nonstop. After troubleshooting to no avail. I had to swap it out with my old 560 gtx until I can find a replacement.

Other Thoughts: -I was hoping it would last a little longer until the new Nvidia Pascal cards came out. It looks like I'll have to hunt for a different gpu in the mean time.

3 out of 5 eggsFast card/Failed in less than 2 years.

Pros: -Fast Card
I used this card steadily for gaming and video/animation work. It was extremely fast for rendering in AE and other programs. I never had any issues running games at near max settings.

Cons: -Failed after less than 2 years.
-Without warning, the card stopped sending a signal to the monitors. The card looks brand new after blowing some compressed air through the fans. There is no reason this card should have failed. Previous cards I've owned have lasted several years and usually don't just "fail" out of the blue.

Other Thoughts: All my previous video cards have lasted me between 4-5 years without issue. I turned on my computer today and have not been able to receive a signal from the monitor. I've had these kinds of issues with systems in the past and just figured it was a loose cable. After checking the cables, completely taking apart my system and removing all the various parts, trying a different PCI slot, etc. After several hours of trial and error and various system configurations, the card still is sending no signal to the monitors. I've now determined that the card has failed.

Fortunately, I was able to re-install my 5 year old backup AMD card and get back up and running without any downtime. If this is a hardware failure after less than 2 years, I am very dissatisfied. Especially for the price of this card when I purchased it, I would expect it to function for more than 2 years.

I really liked this card and I think I may try buying a heavier PSU as one last ditch effort to get the card working again but I don't think it will make a difference. My current PSU is 650 watts, which by all calculations should be plenty, and WAS plenty to keep this card operational for the last year and a half.

2 out of 5 eggsWas fun while it lasted

Pros: Was a beast of a GPU while it lasted. tore up anything I threw at it while staying around 75 celcius max!

Cons: Started getting a non responsive black screen, so apparently it was actually crashing the GPU completely. Turned the fans on amnual to get higher spin speeds and lowered the voltage a little to see if it would help. Everything was fine for about a month, then my GPU driver started crashing and restarting. Then gradually it started crashing again, and that leads me to where it is now, I can't even start a game or anything that uses the GPU without it crashing after 4 seconds. The entire time this was happening I was monitoring the temperature and never got above 80c.

Other Thoughts: I guess I'll call to see if I can get it repaired, I will let you know how that process goes...

1 out of 5 eggsAwful piece of garbage

Pros: 1) GTX 770
2) Great cooling system

Cons: Extremely unreliable

Other Thoughts: I've owned 3 cards of this model.

First two were bought for a SLI system and worked fine for several months. Then the main GPU died (no video signal) and was replaced by vendor.

The second card died in about 8 months after that - no signal from DVI. And I can't replace it, because now I live in a different country (just GREAT customer support).

The third card (the replacement) works for now, but its fans are running at 100% RPM all the time, so I'm guessing it's about to die also.

Why sell an OC version of a GPU if you can't keep it working even through warranty time?

I will never buy a Gigabyte-made video card again. Wasted a ton of money for nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Graphics Card Ever

Pros: I have had this card for just over a year and it runs great. It is fairly silent considering how many fans it has. It runs all my games on ultra, I run it every day to the max and I could not be more pleased. If you have a high budget, I would certainly consider choosing this for your build or even to upgrade.

Cons: Nothing that I've noticed so far. It is very big, but that doesn't really effect anything.

Other Thoughts: Great graphics card. Great price for the performance. Run it on 3 monitors everything at max settings. Love it.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely happy with this card

Pros: -Destroyed just about anything I threw at it

-Relatively quiet

Cons: -Got pretty hot with a few newer games

Other Thoughts: Great card overall, very happy with my purchase. I'm now upgrading to a EVGA SSC GTX 970, but have really liked my time with this GTX 770 and would highly recommend it to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsCard died after 9 months- Gigabyte unable or unwilling to fix

Pros: Was a great card - while it worked. Not sure if the 3 year warranty is a Pro. See below.

Cons: A three year warranty is great. However a 6 to 8 week turnaround time borders on the unacceptable. Furthermore, Gigabyte technicians appear incapable of diagnosing or even repairing hardware problems. No one contacted me to ask for my troubleshooting information. Repairs were not identified by technicians. From my perspective it appears I spent $15 to ship a defective card on a road trip across the country.

Other Thoughts: Just in case someone from Gigabyte sees this post:

My RMA# is: RMA# USA-1481465

Windows 7 disables card with the following "Windows has stopped this device because it has

reported problems. (Code 43)". Even after it was "repaired" by Gigabyte "technicians".

I sent the card in to Gigabyte to be repaired under the 3 year warranty. The RMA process

was convoluted in places and took an extraordinarily long time - nearly 6 weeks.

Before sending the card in for repair, I did extensive troubleshooting by placing the card

in multiple Windows 7 machines to verify it was indeed defective. After many weeks of

waiting for the card to be "repaired" and returned, I received the card with a "minor

repair" completed per Gigabyte RMA site. There was no explanation of what the "repair"

actually was. A visual inspection of the card prior to shipment and post receipt implies

nothing was actually repaired.

The "repaired" card was installed in a Windows 7 machine. Windows immediately reported the

card as having an issue on boot up. I installed the nVidia drivers anyway, just in case.

Windows refused to start the driver because the card reported an issue.

I downloaded the Microsoft hardware resolution program. The program again identified the

card as defective and tried to reinstall the card and drivers. Both failed, again. I'll

be happy to share the Microsoft generated report and screenshtos of the card failing.

The card is defective. I still have over 2 years on the warranty and no faith in Gigabyte

being able to repair a clearly defective card. I use this card for simulations.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It runs games well

Cons: Main complain:
One of the fan motors is dying, can't tell which. When the fans spin at a low RPM (idle) I get a CONSTANT clicking sound. The only way I've found to fix this is to manually increase the minimal fan speed.

-It's heavy and sags more than other cards.
-The extra width added by the Windforce logo, which is facing DOWN in a standard ATX build, is completely unneeded.

Other Thoughts: Considering this was my first full build from scratch, I took a gamble on picking who to buy my 770 from, and I will say I made a mistake in choosing Gigabyte.

I will be looking at EVGA, MSI or ASUS for my next purchase in the 900 series.

5 out of 5 eggsIt'll Huff and Puff

Pros: It'll chew through any game setting you through at it at standard resolutions. It's a solid trooper for it's price range, and not just solid in performance. The beast has three "Windforce" fans and heat sink that combined with the innards itself make this 11.5in a brick of a GPU.

Oddly enough I only hear it if I open the case or I crank up under load, and even then It's mostly just the draft it puts out. It doesn't technically get hot, maybe highball around 65c under load, but that plucky trio of fans moves it all out and about you case. I have a 200mm top exhaust fan on my case and my rig moonlights as a small blowdryer due to this fact lol.

Cons: This big bad wolf will blow your house down and make you check your PSU specs/modularity. With a lowball TDP of 230W, 2x 8 pin power connectors(as of rev.2) and the profile of a small J.R.R. Tolkien novel, finding enough power and then getting it to it can be a challenge for some people/rigs. A 450W PSU is the stated min.req. so if you have a beefy 750W far-reaching kraken locked up in your case you should be fine.

The industry has been rolling out new and reworked architecture for their GPU lines for more power efficient models so expect to see models like these lose price/performance value.

Other Thoughts: The packaging was quite nice, form fitted foam cutouts kept it safe on it's way to its new home. For it's price range and performance, it was my choice over pairing two cumulatively equal lower tier cards.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 2 months.

Pros: Crushed every game I threw at it.

Cons: I started to get green artifacts on the screen after 2 months. Then it reverted to 800 x 600 resolution and I coudn't get it to go higher than that.

Other Thoughts: It was nice when it worked.
