5 out of 5 eggsBeast Mode

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: -This thing is a beast. I upgraded from a GTX 660ti when my son managed to spill a cup of tea through the top grate of my rig resulting in the ruination of most of my hardware. Runs everything I throw at it on max settings.

Some games I play.

-Witcher 2
-Rome Total War 2
-Skyrim
-War Thunder

Cons: -none

Other Thoughts: -It is a huge piece of hardware, but fits fine in my HAF 932 case.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful Card

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Performs great! At 1920x1080 there are very few games this card won't max out with only one installed. Bang for your buck is huge with this card as the top of the line cards are always ridiculously overpriced.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Combine this card with a good mobo and CPU and it will scream. I haven't needed to push this card at all (no overvoltage nor further OC). So I cannot speak to there being any further room to OC.

2 out of 5 eggsA bad apple

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Very fast
Barely made any heat

Cons: Stopped working after a month,
very loud

This was the first card that I had ever bought and was informed that it was very well made and would last me for a few years until the rest of the computer world caught up with it. I still think that's true based on the specs and the little performance I did see but after one month of moderate use I cant even load windows anymore without my computer giving me an error with the card. I assume that i just received a faulty one and am now in the process of trying to attain another. So long as it works, I would suggest this product to a friend.

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable Product Horrible Manufacturer Support

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Decent improvement over dual 260's

Cons: crashed within 2 months of purchasing. refused to allow my pc to boot. Gigabyte's customer service and manufacturer's warranty are just awful. While it was installed ran hotter than any other card that had been installed previously for no particular reason.

Other Thoughts: Just to be clear this has nothing to do with newegg, just Gigabyte if you think it's a good deal just go with a different product it's worth it to not have to deal with them as a company and to get a more reliable product.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card for the Price

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: High powered card for the price. I bought it because of some benchmark vs price charts I looked at. I was not disappointed. Upgraded from a PNY GTX 660. Now I'm running Dayz on near max settings getting ~40-60 fps. The recommended settings for Watch Dogs is High and not Ultra for this card, but it still runs well. The cooling system seems to not run at 100%, but I might need to tweak it a bit

Cons: I haven't seen the cooling system run at 100% using NVIDIA system monitor, but I might need to tweak the settings some.

This card gets hot. I've seen it get up to 70 degrees Celsius when playing Watch Dogs for an extended period of time. I even have 8 case fans at 1800 rpm.

Other Thoughts: I might need to invest in some liquid cooling to cope with the heat. This card runs large, so make sure your case has space.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, not good, not great.

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Speed
Price

Cons: Noise
Other issues

Other Thoughts: So to start out, I pull it out of the box and here's this lovely large heatsink. Stuck it in my machine and booted it up. Everything was fine. I'm playing a game, then I hear this faint lanwmower sound. I get closer and it's one of the fans on the card. It would come and go. Totally annoying! Along with a bit of a HISS sound, not coil whine, but more hiss like wind blowing through a window crack. Totally annoying! I'd be browsing the internet and BLACK SCREEN....Display Driver has stopped responding. Totally annoying!! I boot my machine up in the morning, have the HDMI going to monitor speakers, and I hear this garbled crashing scratchy noise. It was the windows boot up sound. I click on the speaker in the task bar and it makes this other garbled sound, like it's playing slow motion, but worse. Totally annoying!!

I don't know if there was something wrong with the card, but I'd never had that on any other of the 30 graphics cards I've used over the years.

I just got a replacement, the Gigabyte Windforce 770. It's quiet as the grave and is Totally not annoying!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: This card is fast and seems well put together. Some of the z fighting issues I had with my MSI GTX 670 seems to be gone or minimized. Stays cool and looks cool too.

Cons: The price.

Other Thoughts: For the incremental increases in performance nvidia and ati are spoon feeding us, I feel like we should be getting much more for our money. Back in the old days you could get a card that played everything for pennies on the dollar compared to the high prices these days. Good card, fair performance increase, but for 300+ you'd expect more. With the top of the line cards pushing 500 to 1000 dollars these days it really makes me wonder. The 300 dollar card I bought 8 months ago is now selling on auction sites for 200 bucks. That and all the re branding that's going on. Like the 760 is really like a 670 but a little slower and uses less power but selling for 250 when the 670 was 350 not so long ago.
