1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: The 3-fans are quiet!

Cons: Intermittent / inconsistent performance, poor mechanical construction, the video card bends - droops, calls to Gigabyte Tech Support were a total waste of time. I am very disappointed with the product quality and Gigabyte's support.

Other Thoughts: Tried this video card with Asus and Intel branded motherboards and various drivers. The results were all equally bad. Even default setting cause endless problems and issues when using ordinary business applications (non-game uses). My prior experiences over the past 5-7 years with 20+ Gigabyte video cars used for our office and home office workstations / computers had up until this point been very good.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: It is a great card to get if you want to play any game out there today to just about max settings and are willing to sacrifice a few FPS for the added flare. The fans keep it below 73 at all times even under heavy load. The only time I've gotten it beyond 70 is when i'm overclocking it.

Cons: I am using the included OC software which is relatively easy to understand and it is over-volted to 1.2125V with the core set to 1170 and OC set to1235 with RAM set to somewhere around 6.7Ghz. This along with my i5 4690 gets me PC mark score around 5796 which is well above the average score the card has of around 4990. The hottest I've seen it hit under the load of Watch_Dogs and Arkham Origins has been roughly 73 C but roughly once a week the "Display Driver" crashes but then fixes itself within 2-3 seconds. Nothing huge seeing that my games pause themselves and all I have to do is click on the icon to resume. Just a heads up for OC junkies and perfectionists.

Other Thoughts: It came with everything you need to have fun and not break the bank. The heat sink is amazing and temps are always relatively low with even lower noise. Even with the display crash i still give it 5 eggs because I don't get those problems on stock settings. I just keep it overclocked because the added %17 boost is too good. Watch_Dogs is great and runs well on almost maxed settings without the OC and it runs at around 25FPS on maxed settings with the OC.

3 out of 5 eggsRuns way too hot.

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: This card puts gives me around 140 fps while playing FFXIV ARR for a solid hour

Cons: after booting up the card will sit at about 40 degrees celsius...after about 30 mins of gaming the temps skyrocket to around 70 degrees celsius. At this point I begin having lag issues and even random freezing. FPS drops from 140 into the low 30's.
My case has more than enough cooling so this should not even be an issue but after less than a month, I am just left feeling like I got ripped off.

Other Thoughts: from reading other reviews it looks like I simply got a bad unit. I shouldn't be having these problems on a new card. I know this is an OC edition but the first thing I did was turn the power of the card down as I want this to last me for awhile.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is HUGE!

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: AMAZING GRAPHICS! I love being able to run everything on max settings!

Cons: Make sure you have room in your tower to fit this card. I had to modify my tower slightly to get it in there.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat when it works.

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: When the card is working it is great in game. I utilize this card with dual monitors and it was working flawlessly for quite some time. For the price you get the kind of performance you would expect. If I didn't experience the issues I had with both the RMA service and the card being DOA I would have given it a five star rating for the enjoyment I got while it was working.

Cons: A few weeks after I got the card I noticed some green pixels on images and video playback. I thought it was due to my upgrade to Windows 8 and decided to wait out the next round of drivers. As a few months went by I didn't mind the pixels so much because they were only appearing in non-gaming related situations, but then it got worse. Eventually it began unexpectedly rebooting the PC (confirmed hardware failures in the PCs event log), pixels appeared during gaming etc... more green pixels were appearing on images etc... I swapped out the card with two other video cards that I had to make sure it wasn't my build and I confirmed that both the other cards were working. After Googling this issue online I found that other people have had this same problem with this card.

I was excited to find out that I was still within my GIGABYTE RMA warranty. I spent at least $20 in shipping and received my card back in two weeks, to find that they "found no problems with the card". I decided to take their word for it and try the card out again, thinking maybe through some of their testing they had corrected the issue (perhaps it was driver related or something else). Alas two days after re-installing the card I'm having all of the same issues. I'm incredibly discouraged by GIGABYTES RMA process, lack of communication with their customers and refusal to replace a product that was obviously dead out of the box. Shame on me for not sending this back earlier, but I clearly had more faith in this brand then I should have.

2 out of 5 eggsInconsistent performance

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Works when it worked.

Cons: Fails after 6 months

Other Thoughts: The 760 worked for 5 months until it started acting weird. Every time I restart, the card feels like its throttled differently. Using Diablo 3 framerates as measurement, sometimes I will get capped at 30fps, sometimes 60fps sometimes back to normal at 140fps in town.

The drop in performance is also visible on the desktop. Explorer Windows and Browsers will render slower and frame drops when moving around the desktop

The weirdest part is that I do not get any BSOD or game crashes, it simply just feels like the computer is being throttled differently everytime I restart the computer.

CPU Z and GPU Z all reads the computer and GPU to be running at normal factory frequency. So I can't even tell where the throttle is happening.

Things I have tried:
- re-install video drivers
- re-install Windows
- Reflash Bios
- RMA'd GPU (gigabyte sent back the SAME CARD and said no errors found)
- Set back to Stock speed, Overclocked and Underclocked CPU/GPU
- Set Windows power setting to High performance
- Set Nvidia drivers to high performance preferred
- disabled Speed Step/ Intel turbo boost
- blow out dust and re-seated the GPU
- Re-seated the rams
- Unpacked all cores

I am seriously out of ideas at this point.

My rig:
i7 4770K
Gigabyte z87x-d3h
Crucial 16gb @ 1600mhz
Corsair 750 PSU
Gigabyte Winforce 760 GTX OC 2gb
SSD+ 2 HDD
Dual monitors 27" and 23" vertical

2 out of 5 eggsGood for 2 hours

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: This thing is fast! And it can run some of the latest titles like Watch Dogs and BF4 on High/Custom Ultra settings.

Cons: Not sure if I got a bad card, but after 2 straight hours of playing Watch Dogs, the game starts horribly lagging and this card gets HOT HOT HOT!

1. Are you running the latest graphics driver from Nvidia?

2. Be sure your power supply unit is at least 500Watt.

5 out of 5 eggsGood, Quiet and Simple

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Makes latest games look awesome (as you would suspect of a 760). 60fps w/ Far Cry 3. Quiet... really quiet. My roommate has a blower and when it starts up = Jet Engine. The start up is about as loud as my system gets after that it takes it down to hum. Its also honestly a really good looking and simply card. Not flashy. I like that because the cooler I am getting is going to have LEDs and my MB already has LEDs.

Anyway I am in love with this card since I dont have to do much OC to get games to look beautiful and it is quiet.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!!!!!

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-N760OC-2GD REV2.0 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready WindForce 3X 450W Video Card

Pros: Overclocks like crazy (+400MHz)

Doesn't overheat

Fans are quiet and move tons of air

Cons: Huge.. Might not fit in a small case

Needs lots of airflow or it will keep recycling the air in your case

Other Thoughts: It's not letting me increase the voltage any more so I'm trying to figure out how to keep increasing that... Because mine is only running 100% load at around 84c
