The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation, and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world-class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant, power-efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing; at low framerates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology, which enables a new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic GeForce experience.

5 out of 5 eggsOverPowered

Pros: This little card pacts a huge punch for it's price. It can run Skyrim on High Graphics with only a Core 2 Duo.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsMean little card

Pros: The two reviews on this sight were highly misleading, very subjective, and almost caused me to purchase a more expensive option for no reason.

This little card packs a punch for it's small size and small price, the large number of Cuda cores/Processors make it a good choice as a low budget 3D rendering card.

By itself it only renders at between 1/5 and 1/4 the speed of a single one of my GTX 680's, but that's more or less what I expected, and that is stellar performance for it's size and price.

Cons: None in sight so far. For my purposes it seems "you get what you pay for," so if you want a more powerful and versatile card, then purchase a more powerful and versatile one.

This card is also not the best (or cheapest) option for video playback. So once again, buy something else if you want a card for playing high res movies and TV shows. This is a low end gaming/rendering card and for that purpose it does it's job very well.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this as a "last PCI slot" choice to work alongside my 2x GTX 680's for rending in Blender Cycles. Obviously it doesn't hold a torch to them, but it adds an edge to my rendering times so I'm satisfied, especially for the chicken scratch that I paid for it and the nil time I spent installing it.

The card slid in between my PSU and two large GPUs with ease, didn't have to fiddle with it at all to get it in, didn't knock out any power cables or get in the way of anything.

I wouldn't use this for gaming unless I was majorly cash stricken, but as a choice for a supplementary rendering card it stands out as a good high value option.

3 out of 5 eggsgood enough for physx

Pros: finally got it to work for hybrid physx.

fits in my packed pc case (got trifire hd 6970's hogging all the space) with the help of a pci-e extension cable. the sparse design and efficient fan keeps it cool.

single slot, low profile compatible (brackets included).

low power usage, no aux power need.

Cons: nvidia. that may explain it to some, to others who wonder what i mean, i offer this explanation:

nvidia have added another mark to their endless supply of bull and lies when they began to actively block hybrid physx mods with their recent drivers. a year and a half or two back two representatives of nvidia went on record saying they were not planning to do anything to stop hybrid mods from working... just like they don't do anything to stop amd cards from producing equal graphics without alot of (if not for nvidia trying to be crafty) unnecessary tweaking and workarounds. they are shady and care nothing for their customers, only their gpu sales (and only the high end ones, at that... judging by their unwillingness to allow amd and nvidia cards to work together in a gpu+ppu combo, though you buy a new card just for physx...).

however, after alot of trying (around 12 hours) i finally got a successful config with 3 hd6970's as the primary renderers and the gt 630 as the physx unit. no thanks to nvidia... after this i hate them more than ever. but they hold the keys... so i had to buy this gpu if nothing else.

Other Thoughts: i knew what i was getting into before my purchase, and i realize some people do not have the trouble i did getting hybrid physx to work. my problem is that i am fully aware that the problems with getting it to work were 100% artificially placed in the road by nvidia themselves. they foolishly believe that if they frustrate enough people those people may just give up and buy their product exclusively...
and it would have worked, aside from the glaring fact (they apparently didnt consider, lol) that when someone is ticked off they don't want to buy your products. they make enemies daily with their policies and efforts to sabotage amd at any cost (financial or moral). installing a simple physx card became a nightmare i don't want to repeat, and all thanks to nvidia. jerks.

1 out of 5 eggsdowngrade from radeon HD 6570

Pros: can run some games at pretty high quality with little stuttering

Cons: Almost everything like new games and streams from twitch on fullscreen stutter pretty bad...

Other Thoughts: I'm assuming the 64bit bus speed is the cause of my problems... I will replace this card if I cant find a fix.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Little Card!

Pros: No PCIe power connector! (Good for me!)
Uses very little power. (about 25W?)
Runs FP32 AND FP64 tasks OpenCL! (Good for me!)
Typical excellent Gigabyte quality!

Cons: It isn't free! Could cost a little less...

Other Thoughts: I tested this for use in a GPU Farm setup where power is more important than speed. It beats the 9800GT Akimbo 738MHz (OC) in the GPU-Compute area for my purposes and uses 5 times less power doing it! Very good for my headless farm systems!
