1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Service

Pros: it ran great for a while with good stability

Cons: it started off as a game crashing here or there, but went to full blown black screen and causing my whole system to crash. I tried troubleshooting it multiple times and to my dismay, I failed. The card was faulty and I had received the AMD display driver has stopped working MULTIPLE times before giving in and RMAing it.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte has terrible service. They received my GPU on a friday (confirmed by ups when I paid for shipping) and didn't even say they had it until wednesday of the following week. I was told on the phone that I would be recieving a new card within 5 days of my card being delivered to them. It has been 3 days and now I'm being told they wont be shipping the replacement for at least 4 more days, not to mention the amount of time I'll be forced to wait for delivery unless I pay for rush shipping, after paying 20$ to ship it the first time.

I will not buy from Gigabyte again, there service is atrocious and there customer service reps are unreliable and unfriendly. Not to mention that their website design is awful and difficult to navigate for something as trivial as a phone number.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty card and abysmal RMA

Pros: When it doesn't crash, it can pretty fast

Cons: Faulty card - would cause system to crash randomly when playing a game. Sent in for an RMA, and they sent the thing right back after a month - no comments, and the problems are STILL THERE. Functions normally otherwise.

Other Thoughts: Pretty useless video card at this level if it can't handle games. What frustrates me the most is the lack of communication on Gigabyte's end. Sending back the same card with no comments on what was wrong / tested / fixed / anything - completely UNPROFESSIONAL.

2 out of 5 eggsBurnt

Pros: Great card if you get one that works

Cons: everything else

Other Thoughts: I had this card for a few months now, It worked flawlessly untill a few days ago. I started seeing artifacting while playing games or even just cruising the net. Now I'm lucky if my rig will boot with this card in it, if it does it will run for about 5 min before going to a black screen and freezing my rig. Tried 3 other cards and they all ran fine just to make sure it was the Vcard and not something else.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Well, I bought it when this generation of card was first coming out, so I got it for $300. At that price I would have to say it is a good card. It runs BF4 maxed out at 35-50fps(hopefully this will improve with Mantle), and it has had zero problem with any other game.

Cons: At the $400+ that these cards are selling (at the time of my writing this review) I would not have gotten this card. It is simply too much. One of the major selling points (besides the price at the time) was the Mantle support, but I have yet to see its release.

Other Thoughts: I would go for the 770 given the choice now. Nvidia has much better software features and tend to run cooler and faster.

2 out of 5 eggsSwing and a Miss

Pros: Worked great until it didn't.
Price

Cons: This card worked great and then started to flicker. Sent it into Gigabyte for RMA.
Might want to find another manufacturer based on my RMA experience.

Other Thoughts: RMA process with Gigabyte is completely annoying. It took 2 weeks after requesting the RMA to actually get a response from them. I was notified by FEDEX that the package arrived on 1/24. I did not hear from Gigabyte that they had received my package until 1/31. It took a week for them to open the box? Stay away from Gigabyte!

3 out of 5 eggsI can't believe Gigabyte actually did this...

Pros: -Windforce cooler keeps card cool(60C under full load)
-Relatively quite fans at high RPMs
-Solid out of box overclock
-Better for crossfire than the 7970s
-High Kh/s rate
-Performs decently in most games

Cons: -High power draw
-No performance increase over 7970
-Dumps heat back into case
-Low PPD for Folding@home compared to 7970
-Locked card
-Just like 7970, is not capable of using all 3GB of Video RAM without significant performance hit
-Ludicrous pricing increase(bought mine for 319.99, now as I'm writing this it is $429.99)

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte and MSI have been the cards I have been buying in the past couple of years and they never really let me down. However, they both now lock their cards voltages and leave little to no overclocking room for Benchers, Miners and Folders like myself.

I was very disappointed after plugging these cards into my computer only find out that the reviews claiming the voltage was unlocked was a hoax. I understand the point of a business is to make money, so locking the cards so one can't reach the performance of a card costing more than it makes sense. But lying about a cards abilities is just a huge spit the face of the people who buy and trust your products.

Therefore; I will never buy a Gigabyte card again.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice to performance Monster

Pros: -Price / Performance 10/10 ($300)
-Plays all games extremely well (High/Ultra 1080p)
-Absolutely wonderful cooling
-Great for cryptocurrency mining (700 kh/s + [litecoin])

Cons: -Card has gone up in price, was considering buying another but and increase this big is a dterrrent

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an asus 6870 because it is literally 2x faster; like if you look at the fps/ kh/s ratios on the 6870 its double. Very Very good for the price, completed my rig for around $750 and it compares to a 1200 rig.

2 out of 5 eggsLive Fast, Die Young

Pros: This Card was a Beast, for the price at $300.

Cons: Card last a month, I don't think il buy a GPU form gigabyte ever again, card lasted 1 month. feels cheap I think it's made in Africa not in China.

Other Thoughts: don't buy card this card for $400 it's a rip off now, and specially this brand, gigabyte just lost another costumer, this card is not even worth $250.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's been good to me

Pros: I keep on reading reviews on here about this card I haven't had any problems with mine. I have it overclocked to 1150 highest I have seen temp wise was 55. Bought it a week after they came out. Maybe I just have better cooling in my case.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsLook for another option

Pros: Great gaming card
Stock OC is higher than most 280x are even capable of.

Cons: Gigabyte mislead customers about voltage control.
Terrible cooling.
Does not dispease heat well at all.
Temps of mid 80s are to expected with mid to heavy gaming.
Fans are starting to rattle due to high temps.

Other Thoughts: Consider another card if you are a high end gamer or gpu miner. The cooling on this card is terrible. Not worth your time. The rev2 should be much better but still voltage locked.
Support is not much help. Asked for bios updates that may address the above but received no help. All the told me was they have a 3 year warranty so if the card melts I can RMA. They didn't care that the fans were already on the way out. Ignored it completely....
Bad customer service is a deal breaker for me. Had I know this ahead of time I would have looked elsewhere. I suggest Asus or MSI if you are in Canada like me. Avoid Sapphire if you are in Canada as they do not honor their warranty. Gigabyte seems nearly as bad...
