4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: The 270X is a very nice card for the price. Will run MOST games at highest settings and will stay cool with the nice trifan design Gigabyte has made.

Cons: Having 3 fans is a nice thing, but has one problem that worries me and made what would be the perfect card with the perfect price and with a great cooler, a 4-egg rating. A 4-egg rating isn't bad, but the card has some really bad flex when installed to a case.

Other Thoughts: Its not loud, its not quiet. Mid-high ranged GPU that can easily run any game at highest settings.

Cons: It came broken. Period. That's it's con. It's also a very long card.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Budget GPU

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This is my first build and I've been playing not-so-new releases, like Sleeping Dogs, at max settings with absolutely NO issues. I plan on doing some minor overclocking because this GPU runs cold. 10 minutes into furmark and it hadn't even reached 60C yet! I bought this as a combo with some other part in my build (don't remember what it went with) so this was the best bang for my buck for my ~$600 build.
The fans are also very quiet (my other fans, not so much LOL).

Cons: This does vent into the case, obviously, which isn't really ideal for my smallish case. Luckily, my case (Raidmax Blade, which is eh at best) has a fan mount in the side panel. I don't have a fan in there, but the GPU lines right up with the vent so ~50% of the hot air from the GPU gets blown outside by its fans, which isn't a bad idea especially if you OC on stock cooling. This happened by complete accident in my build, and it doesn't disrupt the front to back airflow in my build, so it may be something to keep in mind for this card.
Oh, and it's kind of long as it has about an inch of the card resting on a internal drive slot. No biggie, just get that ruler out.

Other Thoughts: Overall, not a half bad card. I honestly really like the trifan look. Get the card, or don't. Just be smart and don't waste your money on the wrong parts for you!

1 out of 5 eggsNot happy with RMA process

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Price

Cons: Customer service

Other Thoughts: I bought this thinking I would be getting a great budget card. I've been a long standing gigabyte customer. I've always thought their products were great. Unfortunately, this time I got a bad card.

I originally thought my 500w PSU might not be beefy enough, so I opted for an overkill 650w PSU. So there's another 80 bucks. Then I noticed the system was still crashing. I went through multiple troubleshooting steps. I pulled the GPU and put in my 770 from another build and had no problems whatsoever. I then put this 270x in the other build and started crashing that system right away too.

No problem, I understand bad units come. But I contacted gigabyte and it took a lengthy amount of time to get the RMA approved (Past 30 days so no Newegg RMA).

What I was really upset about is I HAD TO PAY TO SHIP THE CARD BACK TO THEM. I even contacted their customer service and the REP kept stating it is their policy to make the customer ship the first RMA back.

To me, that's not right, especially considering I have a gigabyte 770, a gigabyte 270x, a gigabyte mini-ITX motherboard, and a gigabyte ATX motherboard. I've had no problems RMA ing to other companies in the past. It cost me 20 bucks to send this to their repair facility.

So I'm in an extra 100 bucks due to this card. Not happy. We'll see if they send me back the same card and if it crashes the system. I'll update and let you know.

1 out of 5 eggsCard didn't work

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Card worked on different PC

Cons: When plugging card into my system, monitor did not read any input, although fans did turn on. Problem is not with the power supply (600w).

Other Thoughts: Will rewrite review if problem can be solved.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent performance and great looking!

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: The pros of this graphics card are very simple
1. It looks great!
2. It performs very well.
3. The wind force edition gigabyte design is really eficcient at keeping your card cool and making it look amazing.

Cons: If your going to buy an R9 2 series graphics card the best bet for middle ground on graphics and being not to expensive is the R9 280x other than that its a very good low budget card.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow up review

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This card runs great on pretty much any game on high/ultra 1080p. Runs cool with idling on a dual monitor setup.

Cons: Wasn't compatible with my old motherboard, bought a new motherboard just so I could get this running.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the issues I've had, I've been very pleased with this card stepping up from my aging 6850.
