1 out of 5 eggsNot happy with RMA process

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Price

Cons: Customer service

Other Thoughts: I bought this thinking I would be getting a great budget card. I've been a long standing gigabyte customer. I've always thought their products were great. Unfortunately, this time I got a bad card.

I originally thought my 500w PSU might not be beefy enough, so I opted for an overkill 650w PSU. So there's another 80 bucks. Then I noticed the system was still crashing. I went through multiple troubleshooting steps. I pulled the GPU and put in my 770 from another build and had no problems whatsoever. I then put this 270x in the other build and started crashing that system right away too.

No problem, I understand bad units come. But I contacted gigabyte and it took a lengthy amount of time to get the RMA approved (Past 30 days so no Newegg RMA).

What I was really upset about is I HAD TO PAY TO SHIP THE CARD BACK TO THEM. I even contacted their customer service and the REP kept stating it is their policy to make the customer ship the first RMA back.

To me, that's not right, especially considering I have a gigabyte 770, a gigabyte 270x, a gigabyte mini-ITX motherboard, and a gigabyte ATX motherboard. I've had no problems RMA ing to other companies in the past. It cost me 20 bucks to send this to their repair facility.

So I'm in an extra 100 bucks due to this card. Not happy. We'll see if they send me back the same card and if it crashes the system. I'll update and let you know.

1 out of 5 eggsCard didn't work

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Card worked on different PC

Cons: When plugging card into my system, monitor did not read any input, although fans did turn on. Problem is not with the power supply (600w).

Other Thoughts: Will rewrite review if problem can be solved.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent performance and great looking!

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: The pros of this graphics card are very simple
1. It looks great!
2. It performs very well.
3. The wind force edition gigabyte design is really eficcient at keeping your card cool and making it look amazing.

Cons: If your going to buy an R9 2 series graphics card the best bet for middle ground on graphics and being not to expensive is the R9 280x other than that its a very good low budget card.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow up review

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This card runs great on pretty much any game on high/ultra 1080p. Runs cool with idling on a dual monitor setup.

Cons: Wasn't compatible with my old motherboard, bought a new motherboard just so I could get this running.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the issues I've had, I've been very pleased with this card stepping up from my aging 6850.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks but doesn't at the same time

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Games ran smooth and everything worked but I ran into a couple hiccups.

Cons: I've had a couple problems with this card, now I'm not too sure what the problem is but when I first plugged this thing in, I was getting no signal from the GPU to the monitor (in the x16 slot), but then I tried it into the X4 slot and had no problems. Another thing to mention is that there was this weird beeping sound when I started up my PC, I do have a sufficient power supply for this (700w). Also, just recently my PC crashed while playing Crysis 3 and the same beeping sound came back from the GPU. I can tell it was a beeping sound concerning the GPU because when I used my old one to test, no more beeping. Right now It's up and running in the x16 slot but I'm thinking about RMA'ing because I don't want to run into these instability issues. Maybe I'm just unlucky and got a bad unit, not sure.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Gigabyte product and I was impressive by the cooling and the aesthetics but It's kind of annoying getting a maybe defective unit after waiting. I'll definitely try to figure this out and see if I can get it fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: I've had this card for a while now and it handles almost everything I can throw at it. It's almost hard to beat as it has good cooling, and is one of the best price and performance ratio I've seen. Great card.

Cons: Huge this thing is big, not going to lie. Make sure it'll fit in your case. But it's size isn't worth marking an egg down.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Gets me max (60) FPS in skyrim on highest ultra settings
200+ FPS on minecraft all highest settings
EASY 60+ FPS on Battlefield 4 1080P Ultra settings (when paired with a good CPU)
Easily overclockable
Very good gpu for the money
10/10 would recommend

Cons: Could run quieter but when playing games the noise coming from the PS isn't able to be heard
Very large card but when matched with my NZXT Tempest 410 Elite case, it isn't a problem.

2 out of 5 eggsDefective

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Came with 2 free games. Has good specs for the price.

Cons: Just got the graphics card. I installed the card correctly, but when I started up the computer it didn't work. I thought that was funny, so I looked at the requirements for the graphics card and I saw that I met every requirement. I then installed the drivers and then installed the graphics card again. Still nothing. I just issued an RMA and hopefully the next one won't be defective. Wish me luck.
