3 out of 5 eggsGood capabilities for the price when it works

Pros: Building my new computer on a budget, this was a great card for the price. Upgrading from my old computer with a Radeon HD 6850D, I was relieved to be able to play old games on ultra with 60fps and new games on high with little trouble. It runs League of Legends on ultra with a constant 60 fps and even runs Witcher 3 on high with a steady 45fps.

Cons: I was dumb, I didn't buy the warranty, so after two months passed, and the in-game black screens started happening, I had to make the most out of it. In addition to these in-game black screens (the games didn't actually crash, but rather weren't able to be displayed) I found on Witcher 2 and 3 a checkerboard pattern of display corruption. Not artifacting, as the checkerboard wasn't a pattern of colors across the screen, but rather just a small box in the top center of the screen that looked like the image had very bad lag in a checkerboard configuration. During both black screening and checkerboarding, I always rushed to CCC to check the temperature, and at it's hottest, has only gotten to 60 degrees Celsius. It's rather unfortunate that I can't take it back, but I will be buying a new amd card not from from GIGABYTE. I'd give Nvidia a try, but I hear complaints from people who use that too, as well my mobo can't use Nvidia.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks great, but has issues

Pros: It can play a lot of games with high settings, for me being Diablo3 and league of legends.

Cons: I went through 2 of these, I'm still using it because I'm hoping to figure anything that might resolve the issues. plus paying MORE shipping fees is getting stupid.

the first graphic's card had quite a few issues, the biggest being, i was unable to log onto my computer without multiple attempts. i would also have to hard reset after a reboot.
that was fixed when the second card arrived.
the issue i'm having now, and i've had with both cards. is this rectangular pixelation that appears in both games and even sometimes on desktop/Firefox.
I've contacted gigabytes about it, but they didn't say anything much except to send it out for them to look at it. without letting me try to troubleshoot anything myself.(I've never seen this before, so I'm not sure what to do about it). they also don't seem to understand that when i say random. i mean random. it happens when i first boot a game. after several hours, or can not happen during a game.

It sucks because it's a very beautiful quality for the games i play, but the random pixelation is annoying, and i don't want anything worse to come of it. I'd easily give it a 5 star if they could help me fix this. this is the SECOND r7 260X graphic's card, I've received, so it has to be with the product :(

Other Thoughts: Right now i can't recommend it because it might not work for your computer. if it runs well, then it's a visually great card. Right now, however, I've had too many issues with it, and very little assistance with gigabyte on their website.
they weren't rude! just didn't seem to be very tech-savvy.

2 out of 5 eggsWaste of time! alot of problems with this card!

Pros: Decent FPS on most modern games.

Cons: Random Pixilation
Locks up the entire system and force reboots
Random Black screens
BSOD can happen out of nowhere!!!
Poor overclocking... cant hold it for long before Pixilation happens.
If you play World of Warcraft don't buy this card!!!
Cant play battlefield for long!!!!

Other Thoughts: This card is rubbish for the current times... I would RMA it if I could but I had it for far too long trying to see if I could fix some of the problems but its a card issue from all the research I have done... save your hard earned cash and move along!

5 out of 5 eggsGood low end card

Pros: Great card for the price. It plays games like League of Legends on highest settings @1080p @144fps. Does WoW everything on high 1080@60fps constant. Good for a child's pc and or a gift for a cheap home theater pc.

Cons: Fans get loud when they ramp up so be sure you have good case airflow.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card.

Pros: Good budget card. Can play Shadows of Mordor on high/medium settings at 70-90 fps.

Cons: So far the only con is that if you dont have good case cooling, the card will run hot unless you underclock it a little or dramatically increase fan speed.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't work in crossfire mode

Pros: Seems like it could be a good card when it works

Cons: Won't work in crossfire mode. First card failed within 8 months of super light use.

Other Thoughts: I have had good luck with Gigabyte products in the past and they honored the warranty but it took a month and a half to receive the same card I shipped them. In the meantime I ordered another card because I wanted my wife to have a working PC for Christmas and assumed I would just put them into crossfire mode when I got the RMA back. The returned card was jittery and wouldn't work in crossfire so they shipped me a new one and it still wouldn't work in crossfire.

I reconfigured my own gaming PC which also normally runs in crossfire and tried to get crossfire to work and although both PC would show it as active, FurMark GPU stress test only showed one card. With Crossfire disabled it showed both cards. None of the rendering changed with crossfire enabled or disabled. I also have a Gigabyte motherboard and their tech support just gave up and now I am stuck with a card I can't use since the Newegg return period expired. I won't be buying any Gigabyte products after this ordeal.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, needed to fix minor cooling issue

Pros: Been gaming pretty heavily with this, and quite pleased. Only one negative issue, which I was able to fix (see below).

Cons: The issue I had though is my entire computer would freeze, and I traced the problem to this graphics card...it was overheating, and would lock up to cool itself. Perhaps some light dust caused it to overheat after a few months, but I noticed the fan was stuck at 40%. I adjusted it to 50%, and now no problems (room temp, lots of use). I was surprised it doesn't automatically adjust. It's still very quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsExceeded my expectations

Pros: Exceeded my expectations by a great margin. As of this review 2014 all of my games including recent ones stay at very playable framerates set on highest settings with the resolution set to 720p. The drivers from AMD where easy to install on windows 8.1 x64, I already had a AMD apu so it was ready when I booted up! Linux was much the same with the drivers.

Cons: I recommend setting a manual profile for automatic fan control (stays at around 130F on default under load), also on high demand games disabling the GPU governor or setting it to performance settings. The clock scaling is in much the same woeful state as the fan control.

3 out of 5 eggsNope

Pros: Works great, In SOME computers

Cons: If it doesn't work then it doesn't work

Other Thoughts: AMD products to me have always been bad
My friend told me to give AMD 1 last chance and said how much better they are at supporting motherboards then they use to be... So i bought it put it into my computer it ran fine for about a week then my computer started to blue screen 2-3 times a day.

I wanted to love this card....
So 3 months of putting up with 2-3 bluescreens every day
I bought a new power supply because my friend told me maybe my power supply was bad....
Still bluescreen 2-3 times per day

So i finally broke down and bought another graphics card
EVGA 750 FTW 2gb plugged it in been running fine since

I gave the R7 260x to my friend because he has a more stable motherboard then me, and it works fine for him

So unless you have a decent motherboard... Don't buy AMD graphics cards

I have bought 3 AMD graphics cards over a period of 6 years and all 3 of them had issues with bluescreening/driver issues

So its not just this card in my opinion its AMD altogether

For the same price i paid for my 260x and then had to buy a 750FTW i could be sitting here with a 970

Thank you AMD/Gigabyte

Use Nvidia//EVGA and know its going to work.
