1 out of 5 eggsFrustrating Game Crashes

Pros: This card works fine for moderately graphics intense games like Skyrim, Dishonored, Borderlands 2. No problem at all cranking up the settings to ultra.

Cons: If you'd like to play BF4 for more than a few minutes without it crashing on you, this is not the card for you. We initially thought it was driver related, some people said it was a DirectX issue. So we attempted every "fix" we could find to no avail. Most recently we adjusted the card fans to run much faster. No luck. Now reading the reviews after it has been out awhile, it is really sad to see we are not alone---there is a serious problem with these cards and since we've had it for a number of months now, we can no longer RMA. We are out nearly $700. Our Dream Build has been terribly frustrating because of this one component.

Other Thoughts: The price on this card is no one near low enough to risk having the problems we've had. I would avoid Gigabyte cards, especially when you're looking at such an expensive, high-end card. Not worth the possible problems.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ok guys, just wanted to write a quick update on this card. I've had it since March / 2014. I've noticed a lot of folks are having the "random crashing" problems. Here is what the issue is as I have since run into this and found a solution. The stock fan speed profile is simply not aggressive enough. Because this is a factory overclocked card, heat has an even bigger impact on it than on a reference clocked card with regard to stability.

As it got into summer and the temps in my house warmed up, I started running into random crashing in games, but the card was fine in the spring when it was cooler. I downloaded Afterburner from MSI and didn't change the clock speeds or voltage at all, simply used the built-in custom fan profile tool to design a more aggressive fan profile configuration.

Cons: Cont'd from above -

Since enabling this more aggressive fan profile, I have not had a single crash on my system. Temps on the card never go above ~75*C (fan speed is usually around 75-80% at that temp with my custom fan profile).

Other Thoughts: So anyway, just wanted to share with you all as I've noticed a lot of reviews mentioning the crashes -- I'd bet money it has to do with the temperature of your cards since these are factory overclock models and they don't have the tolerance to heat that a reference clocked card will have.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works as advertised, no issues with ordering, shipping, installing, or configuring

Cons: too pricey to justify buying

Other Thoughts: replaced a pair of 5870's with one of these; I intend to buy a second one in a few months

2 out of 5 eggsQuestionable

Pros: TBD

Cons: Just received the 780-TI in the mail today. The gigabyte box looked like it has already been opened and they may have sent me a used graphics card. I don't want to RMA and deal with re-stocking. Seems like others may have been experiencing the same thing. I hope this doesn't relate to others having problems with this graphics card within the first few months. Kind of disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Runs everything maxed and then some, stays cool. Not too loud.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Purchased because it was the cheapest by far at the time of purchase. Would of went with EVGA, after reading some of the negative reviews, but no issues so far.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from this card!

Pros: Looks good, stays cool

Cons: This card does not work. Mine keeps crashing my system and crashing my games. I play Battlefield 4 and before I got this card, I had no issues. Then after this card I spent weeks trying to figure out why my game and computer kept crashing. I thought it was related to the game bugs, but once I finally removed this card from my system and replaced it with a different brand card, I never got a crash in my game or on my computer again. Unfortunately, I can't return to Newegg because it's over 30 days, so I have to RMA the card to Gigabyte. I sure hope the 2nd one I get (assuming they replace it) will be better.
If I could, I would get my money back and go with another brand. Don't buy this card if you can help it! You may have nothing but headaches. Just search Google for problems with this card - there is a thread at the nVidia forums where a bunch of users are having problems with this model. Artifacting, crashes, etc.
STAY AWAY and with me luck with my REPLACEMENT!

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte 780Ti OC Ed

Pros: Baller, top of the line, smokes everything, destroys all games out of the box in ultra with all the extra extra stuff on, etc. I OC this thing from power up first time. 1150mhz all day long. use evga software. plan on aleast two more later.

Cons: none, I wish 3 more came out of the box???

Other Thoughts: have a good PS, they will draw 450w if you let them.

I've never let this thing get hot, have the fans kick on 100% at 60c "130F" if they get that hot, they do, fans have no problem holding it there either, BF4 ultra all day long,

Baller

3 out of 5 eggsGTX 780 Ti

Pros: Fits in Corsair 250D, only takes up 2 PCI slots.

Cons: The problem I had with this GPU is that it 'restarts' itself randomly. My screens will randomly go black, my music keeps playing but sometimes does that thing where it does one repetitive tone after a system crash. It only lasts for a few seconds and then everything comes right back up as if nothing happened, but I get an error message pop up on the bottom right of my screen from Windows saying that the display driver has stopped working and recovered.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers twice, made sure I had the most up to date drivers, physically removed/reseated the GPU and power connectors, tried a different power supply, isolated each of the two sticks of ram I have (using ITX mobo so only 2 slots), and even did a full system wipe/restore. The only thing I didn't change out was the CPU or mobo because at that point I might as well build a whole new system from scratch.

When the 'GPU restart' occurs, the fans stop for a second or so, then spin back up as if the entire system had restarted. It mainly happens during 'graphically intensive' situations, like mass zerg particle effects in GW2, for example. It hasn't caused my whole system to crash yet, but I imagine it's only a matter of time. I will going back to the red team and try out the 290X. I have never had an issue with Radeon GPUs. This was the first NVIDIA GPU I've bought in over 5 years, and only because it was about $30 cheaper than 290X at the time. Performance wise, they are very close together. It's possible I just got a bad one from the batch of otherwise good GPUs. Either way I need a new GPU.

Other Thoughts: The GPU worked fine for the first month. After about 2 months, it started giving me the restart issues. I also undid the mild CPU overclock I had going on to see if that was somehow affecting power distribution but the issue remained. Up until the issues started, the GPU was good for the money. It runs hot, as expected, but otherwise good. I did read that other people had somewhat similar issues with 780 Tis, but theirs were whole system crashes and BSOD's as opposed to just GPU 'restarts' like I have. Price was good, but like all products, sometimes you just get a bad one. I will not say not to buy this product, but shop at your own risk, as always.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective out of the box

Pros: - Great price at the time, one of the cheapest 780 Ti cards available
- Good cooling design
- Fast when it works
- Maxes most games @ 1080P with 144fps depending on my settings (when it worked)
- QUIET

Cons: This card was giving me artifacts out of the box. I had thought it was great at first but then I started seeing green/yellow images and games crashed after about 10 minutes of gameplay. Ran 3DMark and confirmed the artifacts. I contacted Gigabyte because my Newegg warranty had expired by the time I found out the issue. RMA process through Gigabyte was fairly fast (I am fortunate enough to live near their RMA walk-in center) however they stated they found no issues and could not replicate my problem. Very disappointing.

Other Thoughts: I researched Gigabyte's 780 Ti and found many other users who've experienced the very same issue I am having with this card. Check out the Newegg reviews from the non-OC 780 Ti card and you will see they're having the similar issues as well. I knew I should have went with my gut and bought an EVGA card instead. My brother vouched for his Gigabyte 670 Windforce, so I decided to give this card a shot too.. boy was that a mistake. Please save yourself time and frustration and stay away from this model from Gigabyte!
