5 out of 5 eggsDid you update your BIOS?

Pros: Fastest card I've ever owned. Looks great, haven't OC'd yet but temperatures stay pretty cool. Also, it has reference PCB so I can water cool it when I'm ready without having to buy a special block.

Cons: It didn't work super well at first. Then I updated my BIOS and it worked fine, so that's not really a con.

Other Thoughts: ANYONE SAYING IT DOESN'T WORK, TRY UPDATING YOUR MOTHERBOARD BIOS.

The first week I had the card I was super disappointed with it. Games crashed, artifacts were abundant, and I felt like it was getting much too hot. Of course, I RMA'd it, received it back within 2 weeks, and Gigabyte couldn't find a thing wrong with it.
I troubleshooted everything I could, from my motherboard to my PSU, but nothing in between was the issue.

Then I updated my BIOS and it worked fine, has worked fine since. It's been about 4 months since I did that.

2 out of 5 eggsNice card for non-intensive use - not so great card for the poweruser

Pros: The card looks nice, it is very quiet.

Cons: The card can't support the type of usage that most users would expect when purchasing this card. The system crashes constantly when trying to perform certain types of video transcoding. Any sort of crypto crack testing such as wpa/wpa2 fails miserably and results in computation errors after only a few seconds to a couple of minutes. The only way I found to correct this is to lower the mhz setting to those of the stock gtx 780 - kind of a waste of money to purchase the 780 ti GHZ when the card can only operate at 889Mhz.

I am not much of a gamer anymore, but I still require a GPGPU that can be put through its paces and come out shining - this card is not once of them - and I purchased two from newegg, same issue with both! :(

Other Thoughts: I decided to purchase the gigabyte card because I have had very good experience with their previous OC cards. In fact, I have been using a GTX275OC for the past 5 years - no issues ever, but tasks take longer than I would like so I figured time for an upgrade. Being a gigabyte product user (9 mobos since 2007) I figured I'd go back to my trusty manufacturer of yesteryear, I'm sorry I did. :(

I decided to try a different manufacturer, so I purchased a couple of EVGA 780 TI cards, installed them in the same systems - have not had one issue. They're rock solid, even though they're a little warm.

Even the GTX770 I purchased in January 2014 died a silent death last week.

Gigabyte, what happened to your product quality?

1 out of 5 eggsDon't be fooled

Pros: This card is absolutely garbage .

Cons: -Is NOT stable at the factory overclock
-Drivers constantly crash
-Build quality leaves a lot to be desired
-Zero overclockability
-Runs hot
-Cost
-Gigabyte support does not recognize the card is faulty
-Gigabyte support does not advance rma
-Gigabyte support does not even know when they will get card in stock for RMA, and if not, they do not know what a suitable replacement is("you may even be able to go AMD"

Other Thoughts: Honestly do NOT buy. I bought this first day of release in January, and soon after i started gaming it got constant driver crashes. Also runs into the 80's quite normally

Thankfully because of AMAZING cs, i was able to swap for an EVGA. I went with the superclocked acx and right from opening the box you saw a night and day difference. So this is build quality. Gorgeous card, gorgeous packaging.
Runs perfectly stable at factory overclock(boosts to 1150mhz)
I was able to overclock it (+80mhz GPU clock, +250mhz mem clock) with zero voltage increase.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate: DO NOT BUY!!!

Pros: Amazing performance when if it ever works, which it doesn't.

Cons: Unstable, artifacts, crashes randomly locking up the entire PC.

Here is my story:

Bought this card in Januaray 2014 and worked solid for 4 months. Then decided to buy a second for SLI. Got a second card and looked like it was already opened by someone else. Tried it anyways and SLI started crashing, locking up, BSOD, unstable with artifacts. Put the second card in by itself and it was the same instability. I returned it to newegg for a replacement and got another. Same issue. During the entire process of sending back 2 cards I kept watching the negative reviews of this card pour in every day on multiple forums and sites. Verdict is that GIGABYTE messed this one up with a large bad batch of these cards. This is all occurring while my 1st known good card is still solid so Im thinking that I at least have one good card. NOPE Just the other day after 4 months of use my first card started doing the exact same thing the 2 i returned did. Artifacting, crashing, locking up, you name it. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! GO with ASUS or EVGA, they are known to be good and work out of the box. Doing a quick search on the gigabyte Windforce gtx 780 ti GHz or OC you will see the sheer ammount of people who are having the same issue. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

Other Thoughts: My PC is more than capable of handling two of these cards with a 1200 watt platinum power supply. I have done a clean re-install of windows multiple times. The card is at fault as I have tried it in 3 different PCs.

DO NOT BUY either of the GIGABYTE 780 Ti OC or 780 Ti GHz

1 out of 5 eggsExtremely Unstable Cards

Pros: When the cards function as advertised they are unbelievable. When functioning they can run almost any game I throw at them at 5760x1080 at crazy settings. Sadly this almost never happens for any length of time.

Cons: The factory overclock on these cards is very unstable. They run extremely hot despite having a good aftermarket cooler and a very cool case. When stressed while gaming they will not slow down, like nearly every other card I have ever dealt with, but instead crash to a black screen with no warning and require a total reset of the computer. Adjusting settings in games does nothing to alleviate this issue. Whenever the card gets stressed what so ever it crashes. I am sure these issues could be resolved with some effort put towards down-clocking the card but that is an unacceptable option given the price of the cards and that fact that they should function properly at the stock settings Gigabyte sends them out with.

Other Thoughts: I have held on to these cards longer than I should have with the though being that it was other elements in my system causing this problem but have managed to eliminate everything else but these cards. A quick search online reveals that many others with this line of cards are experiencing the same issues. Don't make the mistake of wasting almost $1500 like I did and choose a more stable option.

1. Be sure the power supply unit is at least 600Watt.

2. Are you running a fresh new Windows installation or pre-existing.

1 out of 5 eggsReview Update: Second replacement and still bad

Pros: My first card still works great. But I cannot for the life of me get a second working one so I can run them in SLi.

Cons: This is the replacement for my second card. The card does the exact same thing as the first faulty one I received. It causes crashes and artifacts very badly. All in all its very unstable.

Other Thoughts: Interestingly enough, the serial numbers of this card and the previous bad one which I RMAed to newegg are only 2 least significant digits in difference. This has to do with a bad batch of cards from GIGABYTE.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

Pros: Great clock (not right away. read other thoughts)
great temps(same ^)
ok noise levels (ish)
really good on power consumption.
Great out of the box boost clocks (after a day of burn in) 1084 stock OC / 1215 boost core

Cons: Clocks at first
temps at first
rattling noise
some artifacting at first... not sure if it's gone for good now, but hope so.
BENT SHROUD! minor, but for $730 I think this is unacceptable, as should anyone paying a premium.

Other Thoughts: so for the first half a day I ran it hard with benchmarks and heaven benchmark.
So for the first few hours the temps were around 83C and the clocks would only go to 1110 MAX! after a few more hours it boosted to 1215, WITHOUT ANY overclock applied! BUT this made the heaven benchmark crash time after time. BUT (again) after a few more hours it was stable and holds solid at 1215 core clock and usually no higher then 75C.
so in after a few days of benchmarks being periodically run on it, I think the thermal paste has settled, the clocks are stable and all is well... for now.
I hope to not be another reviewer to come back a few weeks from now telling you about how it failed horribly. also, for a binned chip, why is my asic score only 66.1?! I thought it would have been better then that.

Now about the rattle. Toward the IO shield the shroud around the end fan needed to be lightly zip tied to the other shroud/back plate piece to stop an annoying rattle when at load. might be a design flaw, but I think it was more so that something happened to this shroud cause the other end (toward the PCIe power connectors) is bent out a little and looks like it was bent back but not completely flat, there is still a bump. also the aluminum fins at the very end are bent in a little, like someone dropped it slightly on the edge of a table or something.
I take video of all my unboxings and I have a feeling this may have been a reboxed card. normally this would not bother me... but again, I must reiterate... this is a $730 premium graphics card, it should have gotten to me in perfect condition!

This card may, and hopefully will last me for years, but it will be the last time I buy from gigabyte for quite a while. This card should not have passed QC with bends on any part of it, or a shroud that was going to rattle when the fans spin over 2000RPM's

in the end, as long as the card does what it says it does and after the first day, I am having no issues and HUGE out of the box boost clocks, the rest is merely cosmetic and only worth an egg off in my opinion. to you it may be worth more then one egg off.

Gigabyte, work on making your cards quieter, please. We all know you could have done better.

1 out of 5 eggsCard is unstable

Pros: Great performance out of the box.

Cons: Card is unstable. Causes random system crashes during gaming and am unable to revert without doing a hard system reset. I tried everything and anything to make it work from updating BIOS to latest rev, re-installing windows, drivers, removing my CPU overclock. Nothing worked.

Other Thoughts: I currently own 2 of these cards. The first I bought a month ago and has been rock solid ever since. The second one I bought on 2/26/14 to use in SLi with my first card. SLi performance with these two cards is unbelievably amazing. But i am unable to game for more than 30 minutes without a driver crash and a hard lockup system freeze. I put in the latest card by itself and the issue was the same. To make matters worse, upon removing the card to repackage it and have it replaced by newegg, i noticed dings and scratches on the metal backplate and it looked like someone tried to go in and cover them up with a black marker. I can tell a black marker rework when I see one. Not only that, the anti-static bag that the card came in was torn up. I can only imagine that someone RMAed this card before me for the exact same issue I was having and somehow it ended up getting sold to me. I have RMAed the card back to newegg for a replacement and and hoping to get a brand new working one in return. Hopefully not all of these cards are bad as it seems my first one is working extremely well. Im assuming the unstable ones are a bad batch from GIGABYTE so please GIGABYE fix your product and don't sell us $730 dollar paperweights. So far both of my cards have been a REV 1.0 PCBs.
