5 out of 5 eggsOne Shot one Kill

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: I am a serious BF4 hunter (sniper) and now I get to say wait until your see the pupils change from shock, then pull trigger. I love the card and it doesn't get hot while playing at Ultra. Would be higher if I had more ram and now....not a DOA quad processor. But wow what a card.

Cons: It will not train my dog or daughters to not jump in my lap during a map play in BF4. Hard enough to survive tanks... but harder with a German Sheppard in your lap.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: For the price I dont think there is a better card. 4GB is probably overkill, but why not right? Very easy to overclock and runs cool.

Cons: It is big. Keep that in mind. Not really con for me, but for some it is,

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: At idle it is at 35c and while running BF4 full blast with everything up it gets no higher than 70c. Even though there are three fans, they can not be heard ever, even when playing my games. Right now FPS is perfect in all of my games (well above 60fps in War Thunder, BF3, BF4, Black Ops 1, Everquest 2, WoT) All games are at my monitors max rez of 1440x900, so I am sure it would slow a little on my 32inch TV at 1080p, but I dont need it that large.

Cons: Only con at all was installing it in my old Atlas (The Lian-Li rival from back in 2002) tower. I had to remove the hdd cage, but I had slots above that cage for my hdds, so not a problem. The board itself is not that big, it is the fans/heatsink that make it that large.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow Up to Review on 5/7/14 - Glitch Issue Fixed!

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Great Card. See Previous Review on 5/7/14...

Glitch Fix below in Cons....

Cons: A lot of people have complained about the card being glitchy. I noticed this for the first time the other day. I was in a FPS game when all of the sudden the screen began to flicker and lines would run though it. Then the problem went away...only to return later.

As the game progressed I noticed the issue was more frequent when I was starring at light sources that required the card to do shading and lighting angles.

After I finished the game I investigated the cause. I had just installed a second one of these and Crossfired them. Apparently when I did that, Windows loaded an old driver from June of 2013!

These cards (the R9 2xx Series) was not released until October of 2013, hence a driver from June of 2013 will not work! I downloaded and installed the right driver from AMD and the issue corrected itself.

I am not sure why Windows installed a driver from June of 2013 when all I did was add a second of the same card in Crossfire.

Seems like more of a con for Windows 7 than the video card itself.

3D Mark Demo Score:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the Money

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Great Performance for a 256-bit Card, and great price for 4GB of GDDR5 for this Series.

I originally bought (1) for a new build and I was so impressed that when AMD offered the "Free Games with Purchase" Promotion I bought a second card and Crossfired them.

The (3) fan design keeps the card cool, even under heavy load and with Crossfire the highest temp I have seen is 50C - and that was after hours of graphic intense gaming.

I have bought Gigabyte Motherboards in the past, this is my first Video Card. See other thoughts....

Cons: They are BIG cards, I believe they are slightly larger than the specs on the website.

However, I was able to fit them in my case without removing my HDD cages, which is good. There was about 5/16" Clearance between the edge of the video cards and the HDD cage.

My case is a Rosewill Blackhawk.

3 out of 5 eggsSometimes Glitchy

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: When it's running properly, great card. Handles most games I play on ultra settings.

Cons: The card is very large, I had to send back the mid-size case I originally purchased because this card didn't fit in it.

Also, sometimes when I boot up, I see green speckles and black lines randomly appearing in parts of the screen. I have re-seated the card, and it still happens fairly often. I may have received a defective card, still looking for a possible fix.

Also, a bit loud, but not a big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money!

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: I'm playing Planetside 2 on high settings and this card takes it like a champ. I will wait for the price to drop and will definitely buy another one later.

Cons: I did get a DOA card at first but both Gigabyte and Newegg were very helpful in fixing the situation. Thanks again guys for being helpful.

Other Thoughts: Now that the price had dropped 20ish dollars since I bought my first card I might just get another one.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Beastly, 4GB of RAM. Fast. Bang for your Buck. So far it has run the few games I have thrown at it at full settings and running Fraps. No lag at all. I've tried Burnout Paradise, dual screen and Just Cause 2. Looks amazing. Card stays very cool. Doesn't even seem like it's breaking a sweat. Looking forward to GTA V for PC.

Cons: The card is really large so you need to make sure your case has room for it.

Other Thoughts: I was going to go with a cheaper video card but I thought I'd spend $50 more for a card with 4GB of RAM. I didn't think you could get something like that for less than $400. Not that you really even need that much RAM but the fact that you get it, and a really cool looking card, it was worth the extra money for me. It just looks like some insane $1000 card. I mean what video card has three fans! Just love it's extremeness.

3 out of 5 eggsGlitchy

This review is from: GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-4GD Radeon R9 270X 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Works fine when not playing games.

Cons: In game it glitches everywhere, even when i switch the game quality down to medium the entire screen turns black and weird glitches happen when theirs a lot of activity. It does this in every game I play, the entire screen just goes black for a while.

Other Thoughts: I think I got a defective product and would like to exchange it. No complaints with the rest of my new egg shipment.
