Other Thoughts: One thing to consider is the size. This is a massive card, make sure the case you get is able to fit this inside it!!!!

Pros: 18 months and still going strong. Paired with a 2500k it'll still put out 60-100fps on a mix of med-low settings in Witcher 3/GTA V/The Division. With an upgraded processor (soon!), those numbers would definitely change. It's good for 1080p gaming, obviously.

Cons: -Coil whine. It's loud, but for anyone who wants a quiet card, don't buy this. If you game with headphones, it isn't noticeable at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought the G1 970 in October '14. It's a decent card. However, two factors play into this not being worth buying in 2016: 1) Nvidia's lies at launch about it being a 4gb card, and 2) it's nearly 2 years old and anyone buying a new card from spring 2016-onward, should buy at minimum an actual 4 gig, whether it's an AMD or Nvidia option.

So definitely look elsewhere.

Cons: Purchased and paid for new item... Product was clearly opened already. Seal on Anti-static bag was broken and resealed... CD envelop was slightly torn from previous opening.... haven't installed yet because need to check with Newegg on this policy.. I thought when I paid for new item it would be new - unopened. Same was true for Motherboard ordered as well for my build. So 2 out of 5 main components for the system were purchased NEW but shipped previously opened items.

Pros: -great value for performance

Cons: -The windforce LED will eat your CPU alive if you have it on anything other than solid with no animations. I have a Intel Core i5-6600K 6M and just putting the LED on the breathing animation ate up 30% of my CPU.

Pros: - Excellent price for the performance you get
- Solid construction. The full metal backplate makes it easy to handle without fear of it bending under its own weight
- Whisper quiet. It may be in part due to a well sound-dampened case, but this video card makes for a very quiet build

Cons: - The infamous 3.5 out of 4 GB usable memory bug with the 970's
- It died after 15 months of solid use. Playing ARK: Survival Evolved, the screen went black with a hard reboot. It never came back up. I promptly smelled burning electronics. The card was completely dead after that.

Other Thoughts: - No HTTPS on Gigabyte's RMA website (ggcs.gigabyte.com). They want you to create a login with password, and enter personal info including name, address, and phone number. I called support about this and was instructed that the non-HTTPS RMA site is the only way to submit an RMA. The best they could do was send me an email which directed me back to the RMA site.
- Hardware fails sometimes, I get that. I would have only taken 1 egg off for the dead card. Making your customers submit personal info and login credentials over an insecure connection is unacceptable.

Other Thoughts: I have never had a product with as short a lifespan as this card. I have never overclocked or even used it beyond 1080p gaming which it should have been able to easily handle. Extremely disappointed.

Pros: The base clock is amazing and combined with the 3.5/4gb vram I got over a double in fps with higher graphics. Has 4 copper heat pipes with 3 fans which keeps it cool. (has not gone over 61 degrees)
