4 out of 5 eggsMSI DIdn't give Promised REBATE!

Pros: Great Performance
Flight X, Crysis and others all fine. Occasional hiccup in Crysis (may be due to Crysis issues not video hardware/software)
Good due to MSI failure to followthru on Rebate
Newegg Delivered Quickly as Promised

Cons: Bought based on price performance and Rebate was part of calculation. 2 months later NO rebate or response of any kind from MSI

Other Thoughts: RIght after I purchased this the GT series came out. Supposed better performance and less cost (even count my suppposed rebate). My Bad timing I guess.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Card, Lousy Manuf.

Pros: Nice card. Runs every game I have very smoothly.

Cons: I was supposed to get a rebate, but never got it. They never even acknowledged it. You can get cards just as good or better from a different manufacturer that might deliver what they promised.

Other Thoughts: I would have given this card 5 stars if it wasn't for the rebate issue. If you buy this card, buy it for reasons other than the rebate. If you factor the rebate into your purchase, you'll probably be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievable quality

Pros: Superb quality with DirectX 10 in Windows Vista. The environmental effects are simply amazing. DirectX 9c doesn't come close to matching it.

COD4 is running at full detail and resolution on a 22" wide monitor, and still runs well over 60 FPS flawlessly.

Crysis apparently didn't optimize their video as much. I had to drop it to medium and 2x antialiasing during most of the game to avoid a headache. The FPS dropped to around 10 with all settings on high.

Cons: Double-wide card, but sits close enough to the second adjacent PCI slot that it really becomes a triple-wide card.

You could shove a PCI card next to it, but risk blocking airflow and frying a $300+ video card.

Considering most newer motherboards' PCI slots are becoming scarce, this could be a bigger con for you than it was me.

Other Thoughts: This is what gaming on the PC is all about. Those console systems can't touch the quality of DirectX 10.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Card!

Pros: Handles most games that are out today with the eye candy turned on.

Cons: None really. It is a shame that when I bought this card there was no such thing as the 8800GT.

Other Thoughts: Good card but other are coming out now with better performance and lower price.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: very fast, runs cool, quiet cooler (compared to my x1800xtpe). Was able to overclock it to 681 core, 1644 shader, and 1014 memory (2048ddr).

Cons: none yet...other than it wasn't free

Other Thoughts: hit's about 68c on load, which is much less than some reports of 80c+ I've seen. Running with a Q6600 + EVGA 680i SLI and 2Gb Adata Extreme running at ddr1066.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Card works well with vista premium 64, XP 64 and Fedora 7. I run resolution of 1900x1200 and removed a pair of sli 7800GT's and this single card out performs the pair of sli'ed cards without a problem.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This card is large so make sure you have a good size case.

5 out of 5 eggs3dmark benches

Pros: 3dMark 03 score: 30836
3dMark 05 score: 14896

Cons: 3dMark 06 score: 9273 (kinda wish it was higher but then again 06 version requires higher end cpu than mine)

Other Thoughts: System build: AMD 64 X2 6000+ @ 3ghz, Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 @ 2gb, MSI NX8800gts 640mb OC, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS gamer edition, MSI K9N SLi Platinum mother board.

5 out of 5 eggs3 months and still kicking it strong

Pros: it's been exactly 2 months since i've installed the MSI NX8800gts 640mb OC and nothing has gone wrong yet. It's still owning every game I test including crysis beta demo. My monitor's max resolution is 1440x900 wide screen which all of my games run at and 16x AF + 8x AA. I have looked into the 8800gt by evga and yes the specs are better but then again the gt just recently came out so for those people like me who invested in this MSI months and months ago we didn't have the option of buying the gt version so stop bashing this card.

Cons: None so far. Heat isn't an issue anymore since I installed the Antec spot cool fan which is aiming at the gfx card plus a 120 mm side case fan helps too.

Other Thoughts: My current spec is AMD 64 X2 6000+ cpu @ 3 ghz AM2 Socket, 2 gb DDR2 800 Corsair XMS2 memory, Antec TruePower 550 watt power supply, MSI K9N SLi Platinum mother board. By the way, my friend is the one who recommended me to buy this card because he's been using it since spring of this year and his is still running every game at max settings with a system that's slower than mine: AMD 64 3200+ @ 2ghz 939 socket, 2gb DDR 400 G-Skill ram, MSI neo4 platinum mother board and 650 watt psu.
