Excellent Choice
- Pros: Quiet, efficient, Cost-efficient, Plays WoW, Oblivion, Guild Wars, etc, PIECE OF CAKE. It is blazing fast and smooth with everything, no lag or patching, absolutely the best card I have ever had or purchased.
- Cons: Kinda a pain to install the software. NOTE: if you are running Windows Media Center like me, then DO NOT install the MSI Live! or MSI Live! updater 3, because you will get bsod's all over the place on every boot up. I havent found the solution to this, but I dont see the software as necessary, just the drivers, and they all check out just fine.
- Other Thoughts: Look, if you play mmorpg's, first person shooters, or any type of game, and need an upgrade without a serious downgrade to your wallet, get this card. There is no better choice. Trust me I have done the research. Save yourself some more time for your games and just get this card. It has been the best card I have ever used.
Great card @ great price
- Pros: Exceeded my expectations...looks cool, silent, good fit on Abit KN8 Mobo, easily OC'd to 750/2200, works w/ Vista. I can play all of these games maxed out at 1024x768 w no lag...Bioshock, GRAW, Far Cry, R6 Vegas, Overlord, COD2, MOH Airborne. Stock--3dMark05-11,041 3dMark06-5,523. Overclocked--11,544 and 5987.
- Cons: MSI software. NEVER USE IT. Get the latest drivers straight from NVIDIA. I didn't even use the cd that came w/ the card after reading the reviews here. I wouldn't try to put this in a prefab DELL, HP, Gateway, etc., due to lack of space and cooling in most.
- Other Thoughts: Make sure it will fit in your case and motherboard. No problems in Mid Tower w/ KN8, even w/ a big heatsink on the Northbridge. Only blocks 1 of 3 PCI-E x1 slots, which I don't even use. Stays cool and quiet in my case w/ 4-80mm and 1-120mm case fans plus 120mm on cpu above the video card. OC'd to 750/2200 and played Bioshock for ~3 hours and video card temp never exceeded 120*F(49*C), and got 60fps maxed out at 1024x768. AMD x64 dual core 3800+ OC'd to 2.4GHz, 2GB Patriot DDR gaming RAM, Dual booting XP Pro/Vista Home Pro, 430W Thermaltake PS, 2-SATA 3.0Gb 7200rpm HDD's.

Works great, and no Noise!
- Pros: Plays COD 4 great, FEAR, ect. No annoying little high speed fan noise! Silent
- Cons: None really, software included is not the best though.
- Other Thoughts: Make sure you have space, the heatsink is big, but well placed to make room. Can't wait to order second for SLI setup, should run with the top single cards w/o the noise.
Very Impressed
- Pros: Fanless, silent. Dual-link DVI, HDCP compliant. Awesome for a HTPC. Suprisingly good gaming performance. DVI-to-HDMI adapter and HDMI cable included!
- Cons: Should have a PCI-E power plug, not a 4-pin molex. Strange choice.
- Other Thoughts: Running 1280x720 to my plasma, looks so much better through HDMI than through VGA (DSub). Runs FEAR at 1280x720 maxed settings smooth tests %96 over 40FPS. COD4 runs smooth as well at max settings! I can hardly believe it. My gaming machine runs an 8800 Ultra and I didn't expect this much from the 8600GTS. I may add another for SLI and try Crysis on the big-screen. I'm extremely happy with this card.
Excellent Buy!
- Pros: Super cheap and a huge performance boast, I had went from the 6600gt and now i am get atleast 20+ fps in every game i have played in my line up. On average in WoW my hallmark game i am getting over 30 more frames at a nice 60 +fps in even well populated areas.
- Cons: Came with some bloated software i would not install these save your self a system reinstall and just download the drivers from Nvidia.
- Other Thoughts: I am using this in a prescott core psu with over 3 gigs of ram
