5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, and no Noise!

Pros: Plays COD 4 great, FEAR, ect. No annoying little high speed fan noise! Silent

Cons: None really, software included is not the best though.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have space, the heatsink is big, but well placed to make room. Can't wait to order second for SLI setup, should run with the top single cards w/o the noise.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

Pros: Fanless, silent. Dual-link DVI, HDCP compliant. Awesome for a HTPC. Suprisingly good gaming performance. DVI-to-HDMI adapter and HDMI cable included!

Cons: Should have a PCI-E power plug, not a 4-pin molex. Strange choice.

Other Thoughts: Running 1280x720 to my plasma, looks so much better through HDMI than through VGA (DSub). Runs FEAR at 1280x720 maxed settings smooth tests %96 over 40FPS. COD4 runs smooth as well at max settings! I can hardly believe it. My gaming machine runs an 8800 Ultra and I didn't expect this much from the 8600GTS. I may add another for SLI and try Crysis on the big-screen. I'm extremely happy with this card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy!

Pros: Super cheap and a huge performance boast, I had went from the 6600gt and now i am get atleast 20+ fps in every game i have played in my line up. On average in WoW my hallmark game i am getting over 30 more frames at a nice 60 +fps in even well populated areas.

Cons: Came with some bloated software i would not install these save your self a system reinstall and just download the drivers from Nvidia.

Other Thoughts: I am using this in a prescott core psu with over 3 gigs of ram

5 out of 5 eggsfit in my HP 8100N - Barely

Pros: Dual monitor setup, solid performance, totally silent, low price.

Low power requirements when compared to some of these other high horse power cards - good choice if you have limited power supply.

Cons: You need to make sure this thing will fit in your case - it's over sized heat sink forced me to re-arrange some components inside the case - I actually had to completely remove the HP "personal media drive" bay (which I didn't use anyway) to allow this beast to fit... You need to partially disasemble the pc to do this so make sure you are comfortable taking PC's apart...

Other Thoughts: bottom line: Installing this card took my windows Vista performance score from 2.4 to 5.9 - I can now use all the "aero" settings etc. that I could not use with my GF5200 dual vga card...

Playing Microsoft FSX with all setting maxed out with no issues whatsoever.

You may want to check out the "open box" version of this product, I went that route and saved $30 - have not had any problems; the add states to not expect any accessories with the card, but I received all the accessories, including HD component cable and dvi-vga adapters with mine!! luck of the draw I guess. As long as my 300watt power supply holds up I am extremely happy.

5 out of 5 eggsNew Model not as Pictured

Pros: Card works great. Was using old ATI card that I have had for 3 years and my frame rate was sub par. With this card got my frame rates up with out breaking the bank. Card I received is same model listed here but their have been some design changes as well as differences in contents of box:
#1 Came with a DVI/HDMI adapter AND a HDMI cable
#2 Included a cable to allow you to feed your SPDIF out of your sound card, into the video card so you have sound and video coming out the HDMI cable.
#3 Still includes the component video break out cable and DVI to VGA adapter.
#4 includes a fan control cable. Looks like it allows you to have auxilary case fan controlled by video card. (documentation barely mentions it)

Cons: Only Con I have so far is one small thing due to change in box contents. Card no longer had the small 4 pin power plug on it, and doesn't come with the Y cable adapter shown. Instead is had a standard 4 pin harddrive/floppy power plug on it. Nice as you don't need an adapter, but sucks if you have a modern power supply that is short on connectors. Mine has many SATA connectors but few of the old school 4 pin power plugs. Had to make a run to a local electronics store to get a Y cable so I can hook it up.

Other Thoughts: The inclusion of a HDMI cable and the DVI/HDMI adapter connector is a very pleasant suprise. Looks like on my 1080p samsung tv. (Hey, had to try it) Overall is a very good card, am using the lasted NVIDIA drivers instead of the included MSI drivers. Not sure if all of these cards are now comming with the HDMI cable or not. There is nothing on the box that mentions that it was included, it just was.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card

Pros: Silent. Fast.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Had this card for 5 months now and have been happy with it. Heat pipes work, no overheating (mind you the airflow in my case is excellent). A good WoW card.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother

Pros: Was great when it worked

Cons: Lasted 2 weeks, still fighting for a repair a month and a half later.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card from Newegg as an open box item for a new system build. It was great while it lasted, until the system just shut down 2 weeks later. When I restarted it there was no display signal coming from the card. Tested with a known good card to verify the MSI NX8600GTS was bad. Seeing how it was an open box item Newegg wouldn't cover it so I RMAed it back to MSI, which took 2.5 weeks. I got the card back, put it in, fire up the system, and guess what? Still no display. MSI support stinks and now I am going on month 2 with this machine down. Last product I ever buy from MSI.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's quiet, but it's runs a little warm

Pros: It is quiet with no fans mounted to it. Fast enough for the game I play the most, Live for Speed. It fit in my case with a little room to spare, but watch out in a small or desktop case, it may not fit.

Cons: GPU temperature is 60 degrees Celsius at idle, just running Windows. Heatsink paste that MSI put on the GPU is a hard puttylike substance that can't be good for heat transfer.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card with the intention of running it without fans, but because of the high temp I took the heatsink off, cleaned the GPU and heatsink of the goop that was on there, put arctic silver on the GPU, left the stick ons that were on the memory alone, then ordered 2 60mm Vantec Silent case fans and zip tied them to the fins. Now it runs 18 degrees celsius cooler, which makes me a lot happier, and it's still quieter than most active cooled video cards.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a great silent card. Decent Specs especially for the price.

Cons: Is physically rather large. I guess it has to be in order to disperse the heat well enough but still, be aware if you have a smaller, cramped case.

Other Thoughts: Good bang for your buck. Careful not to squeeze the heatsink.

2 out of 5 eggsNot working for me

Pros: nice looking, not very noisy.

Cons: I could get it to work in Windows, but in game (WoW) it just crashed. I had to get a refun. It could just be bad because this is an opened box item.

Other Thoughts: ABIT IN9 32X-MAX, 2GB Kingston DDR2 8500, Intel E2160, 250GB WD, Antec case /w 500W.
