2 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for...

Pros: It was pretty cheap at the time I bought it (around 30 bucks). Also, I liked the fact that I could run an S-video cable to my TV to use as a second monitor for watching movies.

Cons: It didn't like to keep up with some higher resolution videos. Also, sometimes I'd go to start my computer up and the whole display would be messed up (grainy, static, couldn't see the screen). I would restart one or two times and it would be OK but it was pretty annoying. This card is finally giving up the ghost as it keeps crashing and is not displaying properly. I've just come to expect 99% of consumer electronics to be complete junk and to need pretty frequent replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsrecommended

Pros: Silent, runs cool under normal loads
least expensive PCIx available

Cons: single monitor capability
older chipset

Other Thoughts: With good air flow though my case, it was no more than warm to the touch. Only tested it with email and web surfing. Not intended for heavy gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little card for price.

Pros: Makes it possible to run dual playable instances of a MMPORG on low in my backup machine, while before one instance on low was hardly playable. Fast new egg shipping.

Cons: None so far....

Other Thoughts: Youre not going to spit out good framerates on intensive games, but this is a huge improvment over onboard GPU.

4 out of 5 eggsGood basic card, no problems

Pros: Works flawlessly under Windows and Linux. Good basic implementation of the RV516 core, with its relatively low power consumption compared to other Radeon cores in the same series.

For a fanless card, this works well for desktop productivity or HTPC use. It's very well supported by recent versions of the open source "radeon" driver in Linux.

Obviously this is not a product oriented toward gaming - if your primary use will be desktop applications and general video playback, it works great.

Cons: Not a negative, but you should make sure you have good basic airflow in your case since the card is fanless.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade to a basic home computer

Pros: Needed a simple upgrade to my onboard video for the home office. This did a great job at a reasonable price. Runs most older games without any issues. Also does great for 3D screen savers and has plenty of memory for using large displays.

Cons: Not at all good for newer games. Technically this card is weaker than a Radeon X800 Pro, even though it supports later features.

Other Thoughts: I can get Knights of The Old Republic, Unreal, and Final Fantasy 8 working fine with good framerates. Anything from Half-Life 2 and later will probably run too slow for serious gaming. Unreal 2 and Unreal 2004 are playable with medium settings.

1 out of 5 eggsBummer

Pros: When it worked it worked well. Was purchased to play a specific game and had been happy with it until it died 33-days later.

Cons: Died after 33-days of use.

Other Thoughts: I will RMA this board and re-install it once repair or replaced. I have heard good this about MSI support so I hope they come through! I will post again if my review changes after the RMI experience.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Deal!

Pros: Runs WoW well enough that I don't have any problems in the expansion city and I can keep view distance well above minimum. No problems in cs:source either. Includes an adaptor to allow normal vga monitors to plug in.
Also very very cheap.

Cons: It's annoying to bump into the big heatsink when I have to rearrange things in my tower. I wonder how many jolts it'll take :) Also; the adaptor, which is included and required for the common vga monitors, protrudes a bit; so you have to be careful not to be rough with it.

Other Thoughts: I'm running it on the intel allendale E2200 processor with 2gb pc2-5300/ddr2-667 ram. It's a PCIe x16 graphics card, so make sure your motherboard can handle that. I read that PCIe is compatable with PCIe 2.0 in all cases, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. Also, I read that GDDR2 is not DDR2 by JEDEC specifications... doesn't matter cause it works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Basic Gaming card

Pros: I bought this card as part of a friends <$250 gaming machine. He had one requirement: It had to play wow. This card has been in his machine for over a year now, and it plays without a hitch. We even got together and played left 4 dead a few days ago, and he ran smoothly. Given, all the settings were at default, but for $25, you can't GET a better deal.

Cons: Its rather large for a relatively low performance card (I have a lp GeForce 8400 from PNY that is half the size), but not much of a con in a big case.

Other Thoughts: MSI is awesome. One of my top brands.
