5 out of 5 eggsVery impressed

Pros: Still in the early stages of owning it but it seems to be running great so far. At full load im hitting around 49C and about 40C at idle. I have fan set to auto and it runs around 60% and quiet. When set manually to 100% its pretty loud. I had auto tune begin oc'ing the card and it got up to 56C at 100% load at over 700 clock. I ended up leaving it at 625 just for the fact i havent had a need to oc yet. Games tested so far all on max.....cod4, bioshock, l4d, and fallout 3. All ran flawlessly and look amazing. I wanted this card due to my limited cooling in a antec sonata 3 with only 2 fans (yep, front fan fit with card installed :)) and it is working great and keeping cool which is what I wanted. Great card.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsTwitchy OC, Great Performer to Price card

Pros: A great price for a mid-level card. I got this card in three days after ordering it! Easy install. It is running at 37C with the fan at 60%.

Cons: It is a bit twitchy when you try to OC it. Downloaded the latest driver from ATI instead of using MIS driver.

Other Thoughts: Since I got the card, I have been forced to buy a 24 inch monitor!! I came from a 3650 Radeon and couldn't be more pleased with the cards performance. If it was for the OC problems I would have rated it higher. But come to think of it, its performance on the standard settings is still well worth the price I paid! I am very pleased with the card.

3 out of 5 eggswould work good if it want busted due to mis handeling

Pros: This card is twice as good as the rx3870 runs just about everything except mirrors edge on high, I am glad newegg.com gave me a refund on the junk 3870...

Cons: when I received the card; the box actually has impact marks on it so it seems it has been crushed or dropped.
Also I am getting the original problem I returned the 3870 for,(ATI2dvag, please lower the process exceloration or contact vendr, windows has recovered from a serious problem.)"although this time its not a bluescreen of death!" If I get an RMA I will go straight to MSI, This is very disapointing due to the fact that it took forever to get this thing because the original rep told me I could not get But a 10 dollar rebate off next purchase so I sent it to MSI in CA and I like in central NY so I had to pay for a package intercept because when 3 days later I bought a 500gb WD HD they told me I could get a refund and I was too late so all in all it took about a month and now the D@mned thing they gave me was thrown around!!!!!! This stinks totally!

Other Thoughts: I am really sick of newegg.com sending faulty products it happened with the rx3870 two times and with a 250gb WD HD one time a a few sets of ram and a 120 mm thermaltake fan! newegg is starting to suck

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: - Fan is very quiet after adjusting the fan speed to 40%
- I have never seen it get above 50 degrees when playing games
- Plays most games completely maxed at 1440x900 (Farcry2 is the only game that I have that doesn't completely max out)

Cons: - No crossfire bridge

Other Thoughts: I dont know what people are talking about with this card being huge. It fits in my Coolermaster 690 case easily. Temps are much lower than my friends 4850.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card, great price

Pros: Easy install, good performance, excellent price.

Cons: None so far..................

Other Thoughts: I bought this as an open box, but it shipped with all the adapters and the driver cd, in the original box. I see a few people have said the card is big, but it fit into my MATX case with no trouble. I was just running the motherboard graphics prior, so of course there's a huge increase in the graphics quality. I loaded the drivers straight from ATI, didn't use the included disc.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome card

Pros: plays CoH, GoW, UT3 max at 1680 x 1050 res with 0xAA nice and smooth. Its really quiet and the temp always stays between 35c-40c. Haven't tried overclocking it yet, don't really need to anyway.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: thought it would barely fit my case but it fit in just fine in my sunbream transformer case. Super loud case xD. I would probably get quite a bit more fps if i had a better cpu, using 6400 x2 BE right now 2gb ram ddr2, m2n-sli 560, ocz 700w psu, msi 4850.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat overall budget card

Pros: Can play CS: Source at 65-85 avg fps depending on the map. When considering my current cpu (amd x2 3800+), I am very impressed.

Runs EXTREMELY COOL... I only have one fan besides my PSU fan, which is a good one, and the fan on this card. This card stays below 40 C until I start playing games. On CS: Source my card didn't go ver 42 C.

Cons: I am not able to stably overclock it as much as I was hoping.

Other Thoughts: More than likely the overclocking instability is from my current setup. I just purchased a amd x2 6400+. I'm thinking that the bottlenecking that I'm seeing now is from the OLDDD cpu im currently running. I think once I make this upgrade, I should be able to blaze through all current games running at least medium graphics settings.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI HD 4850 - very fast and cool running

Pros: Keeps the card very cool - 40 idle -50 C (under load)
Performance in Games is an enormous upgrade from a 7900GT KO edition. Plays Mass Effect, TF2, HL2-EP2, DoW-Soulstorm, WoW at max settings at 1920x1200 res. (0xAA on Mass Effect only). 60+ FPS for all games.
Fairly quiet at 60% fan speed. Much much quieter than the reference cooler, and does not go up to 79+ C when under load either!
Overclocked to 685/2200 stable for gaming. Higher speeds caused corruption in Mass Effect and caused FAH:GPU to fail to complete work units.
11500 3DMark06 default settings with OC AMD 6000+ X2 @ 3.36GHz.

Cons: Does not overclock more than 10% without artifacts/corruption.
Extra large heatsink takes up alot of space, mine did not include the rear exit grill, but the pictures show a design change to include this now.
Had to do a profile mod when I first got it to raise fan speed to at least 40% for proper cooling. The new 8.512 ATI Catalyst software includes this in the Overdrive settings.

Other Thoughts: Great purchase for anyone looking for GFX power on a budget, and I am considering putting another one in Crossfire if I can save some more for it (maybe).
3DMark06 score was bottlenecked by my CPU at stock clock speed of 3.0GHz (10211 Marks)

MSI HD R4850-512m with dual slot cooler
AMD 6000+ X2 @ 3.36 GHz
T240HD 1920x1200 HDTV/Monitor
2GB DDR2-4200
Arctic Cooler 64 (works well with arctic silver)
Asrock AOD790GX/128M motherboard
700W OCZ StealthXStream PSU

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, handels well

Pros: Great Product! I never owned a MSI vid card before, decided to try this one out. 4850 Runs solid, no problems with call of duty or Crysis. Runs with vista premium 64 bit with 1680 x 1050 smoothly. Havent tried croosfire yet, will buy another card soon

Cons: Card is BIG. barley fits in my Antec 300 case.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom 9950 BE, MSI ATI 4850 512MB, 4 GB Corsair DDR2 800Mhz, 500 GB HDD, LG DVD Burner, Antec Neopower 650 watt, Antec 300 case

5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat it...for now

Pros: Had about 8 months now, and my system runs 24/7... And runs all programs highest settings 1680x1050 no problems... BF2, BF2142, Crysis... everything I throw at it rocks.. heat pipes rock... and not sure why the other reviews are running 40-50... I've never even got close to 40 with mine... It's running at 33c right now idle but usually only runs a few degrees hotter when running - Try using Riva Tuner to have it automatically adjust your fan speeds for high req games.. Have yet to even overclock it at all... seems no need with such great performance and good running temps.

Cons: None I've found yet.. just make sure to upgrade drivers and the ATI Catalyst Control Center..

Other Thoughts: Actually got the rebate back as well, and was worried since sent out many rebates and multiple ones to MSI, even typed one incorrectly to the rebate center, but they fixed it and made it good. My first ATI card as well, very pleased as never had anywhere near this performance from nvidia cards.
