msi makes a great card
- Pros: This is an amazing card in a great price range for OCers. i mean all cards differ but when i started pushing mine it took a while before i had to stop. I, sitting at 730core 1030mem and 1800shaders. up from the stock 600/900/1500. thats a big jump without changing voltages.
- Cons: although this card overclocks extremely well it does not like the nvidia OCing tool, but i realy dont think any card does. its better to use riva or the evga tool.
- Other Thoughts: if you want a great card on the cheap this is it. Crysis with the natural mod installed @1280x1024 2xaa 30fps. after OCing.
- Pros: Great card for a 21" 1680x1050 or smaller monitor. Plays all games great for me.
Free game, but the game is very buggy
- Cons: Watch the rebate as you need to send an "Invoice Detail", not the "Order Detail" as it specifically says on the MSI rebate site. Also when you go to pring the Invoice Detail it doesn't list the product description, only the newegg product number, so I made a print screen of what it shows on screen to print. This is neweggs issue
- Other Thoughts: The 4850 is a better card if you have a larger monitor or want a little more.
I have been sticking w/ the hundred dollar cards lately and get great bang for the buck if you buy a new one every year or 2 instead of buying a 2 hundred dollar card(as long as you research to get the best one). I came from a 7600GT that worked good on a 19" monitor.
happiness comes from pink PCB
- Pros: This Card is amazing ...... especially for the price... while some people will say it is just an 8800gt renamed... let me tell you otherwise, while the chip is very very similar... due to the fact the 9800 chips are based almost entirely upon the 8800 series.. well.. keep a good thing rolling i always say ! at any rate this is not the EXACT same thing as an 8800. if i owned an 8800 gt i probably would not upgrade to this. But I have been chillin with my 8600 gts which i love to death that card has gotten me and masterchief through some tough times... a long with that indian guy in prey.... no problems. I was going to add a 2nd 8600 gts in SLI mode when i did my upgrade last week.. but i came across this deal here... for a little bit more you get a WAY biiger memory interface which = SPEED .. and you get a ton more horse power.... This card has run everything i've tossed at it ON MAX settings Tested games = quake 4 , rainbow6 vegas 2 , FEAR, the original Halo for PC, and spore.
- Cons: the only game i had to lower settings was fear by just a hair. Also Halo was buggy but it was not meant for vista.
not really CONS at all. I am ordering a 2nd one to run SLI MODE. and hopefully get a quad core .... seems i just bought this dual core a month ago... =( times change so fast.
- Other Thoughts: Also if the guy previously posting finds out how to hook these nvidia cards up in Crossfire mode... let me know.. that would be AMAZING... i can only get these to run in SLI... =( I'm a newb... lol
