It's Okay
- Pros: Cheap (got an open box for 57). Quicker than expected. Dead silent. No boxy shroud on card to block sata ports. It's SMALL (tired of everyone saying the opposite).
- Cons: 2 wire fan, cannot be speed adjusted (no need to though). Overbuilt power supply. Can't OC anymore than competitors 4830 (~20-25%), the chips themselves seem to be the limiting factor.
- Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 25% OC 8800gs to this (which I OC to the same 680 core/1080 memory speeds of the gs). At 1680 it runs COD4+5, FEAR2, Call of Juarez maxed out with no slowdowns. Farcry 2 and Crysis I can run a tier higher detail settings than the GS (1280 res) with even smoother results. Overall, it's about 25 to 33% faster, a good deal at the right price.
Final Touch
- Pros: Great upgrade for my budget gaming rig, I went from a 8300gs which came with my dell 530. I couldnt find any card that was this cheap with such great reviews and framerates. Ive been using nvidia cards since the old TNT card. Im glad Im back with ati, they didnt let me down, and msi makes the BEST 4830 card out there, BUY THIS CARD!!!
- Cons: r u serious!? old drivers on disk....um... thats it
- Other Thoughts: Dell 530 (made in late 07)
Antec Neo 480 Foxconn G33M02 Intel 4500 Duo 2.2 (will upgrade this summer) Crucial DDR2 667 4gig MSI 4830 OC 512 :) Audigy 2 ZS Vista Home Premium 32
Very noisy
- Pros: Works great, plays all modern games very well!
overclocks nicely
- Cons: Fan is extremely loud! Maybe mine is faulty? But it sounds like a harddrive that is constantly writing/being accessed.
You can't overclock if you update drivers to current ones. You can only overclock with drivers on CD ( ??? )
- Other Thoughts: I wish I had gotten a 4850 or 9800.
