3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, but LOUD

Pros: Good mid ranged / starter card. Specs are nice enough to play most games smoothly, and scales well with CF.

Cons: Gets hot and that fan is a screamer.

Other Thoughts: It is slightly under-powered of a card but for the price what do you expect?

5 out of 5 eggsStill a good enough card...

Pros: I've had this card for a while now, it's still very quiet under load, the fan hits 3600 RPM (100%) and it still doesn't make a whole lot of noise. It's retired for sure, but even with 1GB DDR5 @ 800Mhz, 128-bit; it handles Skyrim very well (without ENB or SweetFX) and with advanced configs it even manages to play Cry3 at around 25-30fps, which isn't bad. All in all, it's a very sturdy mid-range card.

Cons: Bit of a dust magnet, at the time I bought this card (11/29/2013) it was 141.99, which for 128-bit, seemed a little discouraging, but I eat my words there, this card should have been 256-bit for that price, like I said, but it still pumps good frames for where it is at.

Other Thoughts: There have been some RMA's/DOA's listed here in the reviews, but what most people have to realize is that QA is a delicate process, the card might look fine off the production floor, and it might operate under stress tests (which MSI does undergo) but when packaged, shipped and then handled by Newegg or other companies, ESD can STILL happen, and is quite possibly the leading PCB killer to this day. Most, if not all cards that arrive DOA have had some form of issue off the floor that just wasn't caught; or exposure to ESD.

5 out of 5 eggsA solid card!

Pros: Fast card, runs cool under idle temps and load temps, and is extremely stable. Frequent driver updates from ATi are a plus from what I see, considering how often video games and applications change.

Cons: Only wish the memory bandwidth was a bit higher, that's all. It's still plenty fast though! Fan can be a bit noisy as it starts to run. It's "louder" than my old card was with the stock cooler, but I would honestly have a more noisy card than a card that can't cool itself down under load.

Other Thoughts: This card replaced a 3-year old GeForce 8800GT from which began to die 6 months before it finally gave out in March. Started off with DVI failing to work, then artifacts and GPU crashes. This card replaced the failed card, and installed without any issue into a Dell XPS 420 with the 375w Stock Power Supply. Was really a matter of pulling out the old card, removing a PCI backplate from the case (to make room for the card's second slot), removing the cheap Blue GPU holder that came with the PC, seating the card into the PCI-E slot and plugging in the power supply. System booted right up with the new card, and had no issues installing the driver from ATi's website.

Also for NewEgg, they really packed the card nicely in the original box. So much packaging in there to the point where it'd be pretty hard to even damage the card from package mistreatment. The Free Shipping option via UPS also took little time to do it's cycle (3 days from initial order to receipt). Great job NewEgg!

5 out of 5 eggsNice video card, runs cool

Pros: Nice cooler, MSI Afterburner software is great if needed. Runs Stalker on max at 1280X1024 at a constant 90fps.

Cons: Cooler exhausts inside the case.

Other Thoughts: Idles at about 45C, max temp noticed while gaming is 69C, not bad at all.

2 out of 5 eggsFan died

Pros: Nicely built Card. Fairly quiet. Runs newest games at highest graphic options with ease.

Cons: Fan stopped working after a week. Now the card GPU heats up and crashes games. I have visually inspected and seen nothing wrong with the Fan power.

Other Thoughts: I am hoping this is just a bad card by chance, and won't have any hassles getting it replaced with a good working one. I will consider revising this Review and updateing # of eggs if my experience with Customer support is favorable.

4 out of 5 eggsConsider alternate for similar price

Pros: Capable graphics chip that will run modern games at acceptable framrates (at least 30 fps--any less than, the human eye can detect motion issues); directx11 capable, single six pin connector, low power consumption at idle (reviews say about 18watts idle and about 108 at load with no overclocking). With msi rebate, priced at ~$104 is a great value

Cons: Several issues. The fan design is really a bad idea for two reasons: 1. without a rear exhuast cover, this thing just throws the hot air down and around the inside of your case--if you dont direct that hot air with other fans to the ouside of your case effectively, it will warm up the air inside your computer and this means hotter cpu, north and southbridges. 2. The actual fan/heatsink on this thing is the natural place where most people will be tempted to handle it...don't! you can read above where others have broken their fan/heatsink and thats not good. If someone from MSI would like to make me happy, just send me a modified fan design to fix this :)

Other Thoughts: If i get the rebate in the mail the price and performance will be good--i'll deal with the hot air issue. If i have problems with the rebate, at $129, I suggest getting a different 5770 card with a rear exhaust cover--which most others are. I originally dindn't want big and bulky, and this card looked thin--well, since its a two slot card anyway, get one with the cover if you can get it for a similar price

3 out of 5 eggsA 5 Star Product BUT...

Pros: Running a 22" 1680x1060 monitor this is a very good card for the money.

30+ Frames on just about anything from Crysis to ARMA 2 set to High.

Cons: MSI Customer Support. The fan on the heat sink literally split into 3 parts unexpectedly while the system was idle.

Call up MSI, RMA the thing, BOOM! MSI says I removed the card incorrectly causing the fan to break. $45 to fix it, damage not covered by 3 year warranty.

Dealing with the RMA department got me no where. I had better luck speaking with the PR Manager Rajiv, who does the MSI Commercials on the PC Perspective podcasts. But nothing was different on the RMA side.

So put a REALLY BAD review in their comment box I did. And the reason this is a 3 Egg product and not a 5!

Other Thoughts: For less than $20, I picked up a Cooler Master VGA heatsink and 80mm fan. The card idles at 40(c) and hits 80(c) at full bore.

Worthless Warranty Voided of course. :-)

3 out of 5 eggsGood Chip, Bad Design, Bad Customer Support

Pros: The card performs to the expectations of the 5770 series.

Cons: The card is designed poorly. The HDMI output is too close to its neighbors (DVI and DisplayPort), if you intend to use the included HDMI to DVI adapter while also using an adjacent port (ie. if you plan to use DVI and the HDMI Adapter, or DisplayPort and HDMI Adapter, the HDMI Adapter will overlap the other connector).

The customer support is also unhelpful with this case, as they are not willing to offer you an HDMI Extension or and extended HDMI to DVI Adapter, which would clear the ports.

Other Thoughts: If I were just using this card for dual outputs, I would have rated this card for 5 Eggs, as I can use Display Port and DVI. However, I intend to use this for triple monitor output and cannot connect the HDMI Adapter in between the two connections.

I would not have dropped an egg for their poor design, as it would fit a normal HDMI connection, as that is its intended use. However, MSI includes an HDMI to DVI Adapter with the card, which is flawed in design, and refuses to replace said adapter.

I dropped another egg for the poor customer service I received. Customer Service does not acknowledge this as a problem and does not offer any solutions.

5 out of 5 eggsBEAST MODE!

Pros: Silent, fast, sexy, beastly! Runs all my games on high settings (Batman Arkhum Asylum, Civ V etc). Great quality, overclocking, MSI AFTERBURNER!

Cons: Wasn't free.

Other Thoughts: Got the 20$ coupon code so that with the rebate the card costed me 100%
