4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Fast, silent, easy to install.

Cons: Overheated about a month after purchase, I cleaned it out and haven't had a problem since.

Other Thoughts: I have had no problems with this card other than a one time over heating. Works perfectly.

Pros: Very good, had a good deal at the time. Has held up well. Easy, simple starter for a budget gaming rig.

Cons: Fan feels a bit weak.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked fine while it workd

Pros: Bought it for Starcraft II. Played it at 1080 no problems at all.

Cons: Died exactly 6 months to the day after installation. Depending on MSI's RMA process, I'll bump this up to a 4 star. If it's a hassle, it'll stay at a 2

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Card

Pros: Got in on a budget. Can edit videos in 720p on Sony Vegas Pro with no problems at all.
I play all my PC games on my Samsung Plasma TV, and these are the settings I use and how good they are:
WOW: 1600x900, Ultra, 60fps indoors, 45-55fps outdoors (orgimmar).
Mass Effect 2: 1280x720, Ultra, 60fps constant.
Dragon Age Origins: 1280x720, Very high AA 2x, 60fps constant.
LF42: 1280x720, Ultra, 16x AA and MS, 50-60fps.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas: 1280x720, AA 2s, AF 5s, Ultra settings, 40-60fps.
Obivion: 1280x720, Ultra, AA and MS highest, 60fps constant.
Metro 2033: 1280x720, medium settings, 20-50fps.
Batman AA: 1280x720, highest settings, 60fps constant.
FarCry2: 1280x720, highest settings, 40-60fps.

All respectable for the price. Plays all current games great, but I feel that newer games it will struggle with. Good for video editing and today's games.

Cons: None come to mind.

Other Thoughts: Though you can OC with this card, it's not really worth it. I only have the sliders up like 4% more than regular, and that's as stable as I can get it. Any higher and it would hurt fps. And with this settings, I'm only getting 2-3 extra fps, so really it's not even worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent, until the fan bit it.

Pros: Excellent performance, given the price.
I don't play many 3D games, but when I did, the N240GT let me play at acceptable settings on my 2560x1600 monitor.
My desktop's 3D accelerated effects are also all sufficiently snappy.

Cons: I have owned this card for 13 months, and just recently it began making a horrible buzzing or grinding noise. At first it was intermittent, but now it's constant. It is definitely the video card fan, and not another component in my computer.
I can't stand it. I'll be replacing it soon.

I'm glad to see that another reviewer quickly received an RMA for theirs, but I seem to have lost all of the warranty materials I received with my card.
I called a friend who runs a computer maintenance and repair business, and he believes that the bearing on this card is not serviceable, so I could not oil it myself. He added that he did not think a replacement fan was available, or if it was, it would not be for a reasonable price (even 20$ for a year old 80$ video card seems silly). Though this last should not be taken as a criticism of MSI, since most modern video cards are this way.

4 out of 5 eggsCoolest running card I've ever had

Pros: I never played any games with this card so I can't comment on that at all, but this card was fantastic for typical computer use. It runs cooler than any other dedicated GPU I've ever owned, typically idling in the 30's. It is also extremely quiet, except when the fan started buzzing.

Cons: The fan started occasionally buzzing after 6 months. I RMA'd the card and received a replacement after about 3 weeks.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: Not many

Cons: I've looked on other sites and it turns out the problem with my card was a manufacture issue, not with the drivers. The card from newegg and the builder msi, turned out the majority of people that I read on sites had the same driver nvidia3d_____.dll file error that I did.

Other Thoughts: The card is nice but it has major flaws. The computer is all way faster than the card so it can't be any other parts

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued MSI Customer,

3 out of 5 eggsCard works. Fan is too loud. Support is poor.

Pros: Good step up from integrated graphics and works fine on my antec green 430 watt psu.

Cons: The fan is too loud! Why did it not include a PWM fan? There's no reason why the fan has to run at 100% when the GPU is 25° C. The fan socket is 4 pin, and the included software kind of insinuates that fan speed is controllable, so I called up MSI support to ask if fan PWM is hardware enabled. I might as well have asked for an explanation of Pacific Rim economics. Tech support = Joke!!

Other Thoughts: I have 5 other fans running at the same time. They're all cheap coolermaster fans, but are on the mobo's speed control. The GPU fan is waaayyy louder than the coolermaster fans.

The card works fine, but by the time I buy a new GPU cooler with PWM fan for $20-40(assuming that the card has hardware PWM enabled), I could have instead purchased a higher end and higher performing card that likely includes fan PWM.

Not to mention if I actually get the rebate back.

5 out of 5 eggsMost Underrated Card

Pros: Appearance: Looks great in my system.
Performance: Handles every game I play on medium settings at 1680 X 1050 and plays most games at max settings with AA on 4X or 2X.
Overclockability: Using included MSI Afterburner software this card becomes a beast, running stable at 625 core clock, 1625 shader clock, and 1925 mem clock.

Cons: Fan: The fan ran quietly for about 8 months, then became noisy making grinding sounds, fan sometimes doesnt spin when I start up my computer and I have to manually spin it to get it to start spinning.

Other Thoughts: Purchased back in March for $80 and included Street Fighter 4, it has been great to me so far besides the fan which I clean regularly.
