3 out of 5 eggsSolid card for the time it lasted

Pros: Was a good value for the price, ran well for a long time

Cons: Had the card for just over 2 years before it died. I expected a bit more longevity.

Other Thoughts: Was alright, don't know if I'd purchase it again given how long it worked for

4 out of 5 eggsGood video card

Pros: This video card has run everything that I've thrown at it very well and I've had no issues for 3 years.

Cons: The card does get hot and I am nervous about trying it with a Crossfire setting but that is more of an issue with system cooling.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Do you have the temperature readout from the graphics card?
Please let us know at usreview@msi.com and we can verify if it's alright or not for you, thank you.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price

Pros: Bought the card over 2 years ago. Runs good. Doesn't max the latest games, but anything from 2011 and under it does a pretty good job unless you're running GTA IV, which requires a beast of a card (or two).

Cons: I had a wire intruding in my fans space, causing the fan to vibrate. Sounded like a bike with cards in the tires. Tucked the wire back in it's original spot, haven't had an issue since.

Tried overclocking it some, causes artifacts on my secondary screen immediately.

Other Thoughts: Wasn't a bad card for the price at the time. There are MUCh better cards out there today.

1 out of 5 eggsHawk 5770

Pros: Started out as a good card now after 26 months later fan is going out , paid $154 X 2 for 2 video cards

Cons: I would stay away from MSI products such as video cards, no longevity

Other Thoughts: I dust my system every 6 weeks to keep on top of it and now have a video fan going out

3 out of 5 eggsShort Life, moderate performer

Pros: Worked great for about 14 months under moderate use in a very well ventilated box then began to exhibit weakening

Cons: Purchased 01/07/2011 Now the fans are loud at start up and the GPU's seem to be weakening. I've got EVGA 8800's that still work today and even earlier cards in Beta test units that are still working. These were advertised with "Military Grade" components - Yea, right.

Other Thoughts: I've been around the block with MSI on several other pieces of hardware and should have learned my lesson then. Running a Beta test facility all the hardware gets moderate to light usage with short periods of heavy usage in boxes that are maintained weekly (cleaned, tested and so on). If hardware fails in under a couple years use in our facility you now that it weak and was never really stress tested. Guess whose motherboards and Video Cards we won't be using any longer....

3 out of 5 eggsWas a good deal when I bought it

Pros: - Excellent Card for the price
- Fans do a very good job while they still work
- No major driver issues (I only use the drivers released by MSI)

Cons: - Fans become very loud after less than a year

Other Thoughts: Bought this card to replace a 3870 which I had for over 2 years with no issues. This one worked fine until about a year after i installed it, the fans started making a slight rattling noise. It got worse and worse and now (less than 2 years after install) the noise is like a generator running. I know a lot of people on this site buy a new card every 6 months but I don't have that kind of PC budget. Would have liked to have this card last 2 years without fan issues.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card for the money

Pros: Works great with every game i play. Double fans keep it cool.

Cons: Had this card for about 11 months and the fans started making a loud grinding noise for about 5 minutes randomly. Not too happy about this. Though other than that, good card.

4 out of 5 eggsRan well for about 2 years

Pros: Runs quiet, performed well for the tasks I had, at the time I believe it was priced well, not sure if you can even buy this anymore though.

Cons: Cooling was lack luster, seemed like it would run cool but it didn't seem to be very impressive. It started causing unexpected reboots about 2 years in, so I'm now in the market for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Most cards I've owned lasted longer, considering this was suppose to be "Military Class Components" I expected more out of it, seems like a gimic to sell units. I'll most likely look at other brands, first impressions are key and MSI failed to impress =/

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money

Pros: This card is great, I can still play most new games maxed out. Fan is dead silent below 80% but is noticeable after that. Plays BF3, Skyrim, Arma 2/DayZ at ease.

Cons: Fans went out after little over a year. Sent in for RMA and MSI's customer support is just terrible, it took over an hour to speak to a team member.

Other Thoughts: Card deserves 5 eggs but MSI's service brings it down 1 egg.
Twin Frozr design seems to be very inefficient. Never buying a MSI product again. Avoid the hassle with their customer service because you will have to deal with them eventually if you buy their products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: You get what you pay for, a card that works and runs well. Still does for all the new games currently out.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Unless you change the stock fans and heat sink on it with a liquid cooling block or playing with headphones on, playing alot of the newer games on the highest settings will make this card sound like a jet engine.
