Enjoy cool and quiet gaming experience, and incredible performance boost with MSI’s N460GTX Cyclone series! Adopting military class components, MSI exclusive Cyclone thermal design with a 9cm PWM fan, dual heatpipes and nickel-plated copper base which effectively decrease temperature, the N460GTX Cyclone series generates 15.7% lower noise than reference cooler at full speed to create a quiet environment.

Tailor made to hit the gamers’ sweet spot, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 delivers revolutionary levels of price/performance. With up to 4x the DirectX 11 tessellation performance of the competition, GeForce GTX 460 packs highly detailed visuals into your games - without sacrificing high frame rates. And with NVIDIA 3D Vision, PhysX, and CUDA technologies, GeForce GTX 460 powers all the incredibly realistic effects that your games can throw its way.

  • newegg Exclusive Cyclone Thermal Design MSI’s N460GTX Cyclone series is equipped with exclusive Cyclone thermal design, which uses a nickel-plated copper base and two heatpipes for heat transfer and a 9cm PWM fan to dissipate the heat quickly. Aside from effectively reducing the GPU temperature, compared to the reference cooler, the Cyclone thermal design can reduce 15.7% noise and prevent dust accumulation. The N460GTX Cyclone series maintains a balance between cooling and noise to deliver a quiet and cool platform.
  • newegg Military Class Components Except from Hi-c CAP, which is the same grade as parts used on the space shuttle and satellite with a lifespan 8 times longer than solid capacitors, MSI selects a noiseless and low-vibration Solid State Choke (SSC) on the N460GTX Cyclone series for better overclocking ability. More important, Solid Caps are used to extend the entire lifespan of products.
  • newegg MSI Afterburner Overclocking Utility MSI-exclusive Afterburner overclocking software allows you to adjust the fan speed and tune the voltage of the GPU for up to 30% enhanced overclocking capability to completely unleash its power.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 11 Support The new DirectX 11 GPU with full Shader Model 5.0, DirectCompute 11 and tessellation support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision, 3D Vision Surround and 2-way SLI Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. Expand your games across three displays in full stereoscopic 3D for the ultimate “inside the game” experience with the power of NVIDIA 3D Vision and SLI technologies. SLI technology delivers up to 2X the performance of a single GPU configuration for unparalleled gaming experiences by allowing two graphics cards to run in parallel.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of my favorite cards

Pros: Very quiet and ridiculously overclockable. I really feel like I got my money's worth out of it. I got it up to 900Mhz without even trying very hard.

Cons: The 768MB if GDDR5 started looking too small too fast. I never really expected games to need so much VRAM

3 out of 5 eggsLooks beefy

Pros: Great price out the door.
Looks nice & has a lot of features & power

Cons: Either the 960 PSU is bad but still works or the graphics card is bad. Got 10 minutes out of it then the computer reboots non stop & the GPU fan stopped working.....

Other Thoughts: MSI in a MSI board. Good board at that, P55-GD65 which should handle it. Like I said in the cons, the PSU which is a newegg product either doesn't have multi 12 v rails or the card was bad. I waied too long & for what I paid for it, I don't think having to pay for labor would be worth an RMA. Totally my fault. I should have put this rig together when I got all the parts in. I would have shipped both the PSU & the card back. Bummer.... These were not cheap motherboards......

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Build Maker

Pros: The card is perfectly comfortable to handle, the pin connectors are positioned properly, and the card is sturdy. It takes handling easy without feeling like it's going to fall apart. It socketed well, and clicked in with ease. It runs extremely quietly, even under a heavy load and delivers absolutely stunning performance.

It has never reached more than 50% load while running SC2 on very high at 72 fps. It renders with perfection and the Nvidia software/drivers update quickly, easily, and without hassle.

This card delivers in price, performance, and ease of installation.

Cons: The dual DVI can be a pain, as is the mini-HDMI. I would have preferred for one of the DVI to be swapped out for a full size HDMI, but I'll stick with it.

Other Thoughts: I was looking to make a top end gaming rig for under 800. The graphics card was going to be the one really big spender, and I looked at every review I could come up with, and they all pointed to this card.

Despite going with an AMD Phenom 2 X4 3.2 ghz and corresponding Motherboard, every reference said that price per shader, Nvidia had AMD beat, and I took that and ran with it.

This card does not disappoint, and if anything, under promises and over delivers.

If you get an opportunity, BUY IT. You will not be sorry.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Came stock at 725mhz core (stock is 675mhz)
A friend and I spent 2hours & found a great stable clock with Intel Burn Tool (cpu) & MSI Kombustor (gpu).
Quiet (except at 90-100% fan) - My comp is 1.5ft away from me under my desk
900mhz constant
Max temp is 52C
Idles at 30C
Room Temp is 75F (about 22C)
Memory OC at 2160Mhz
I can hit the max Memory OC in MSI Afterburner (2400mhz) but I start getting artifacts after an hour of gaming so I turned it down to honestly an arbitrary # without incident.
It looks pretty too

Cons: I keep asking the gpu to bake me cookies... but I don't think it understands.

lol seriously there are NO cons. This card is amazing.

Other Thoughts: I had it OC'd to 940mhz, but for some reason my MB doesn't like it when I OC my cpu past 3.2ghz and my gpu past 900mhz at the same time... so I am now running 3.7ghz cpu and 900mhz gpu.

after 6months it got dusty so I cleaned it out and remounted the heatsink for fun (used some random CoolerMaster Paste).

Seriously.... buy this card.

4 out of 5 eggsN460GTX

Pros: durability

Cons: drivers

Other Thoughts: Only issues ive had with this GPU is the open fan design. One of the fan fins broke shortly after installation when i accidently bumped it with my hand. I had to break off a counter fin to stop it from vibrating the case during operation. On a plus side though, Cooling doesn't seem to be effected.

Have also had some driver issues(not updating properly and driver crashes)

also shoulda got the 1G instead of 768MB

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bugdet Card

Other Thoughts: I ran an 8800GT for a couple years, I can see this card lasting me the next few.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Card, Terrible Support

Pros: Great card, when it works (which is 95% of the time, thankfully).

Cons: I have a random error where the card essentially fails to initialize, resulting in artifacts from BIOS all the way through the loading of Windows (in safe mode, with Code 43 error). The issue is sporadic, but annoying.

To date, attempts to get any help from MSi have been absolutely futile. Their moderators on the forum as well as the techs responding to online service requests don't seem to fully understand my problem (or English), and the answers either don't address the problem, ignore half the questions, or simply don't make sense.

Other Thoughts: I will not buy another MSi product. I'm not sure if I even want to bother trying to RMA the card because I'm almost positive there will be some ridiculous wait to get it back. Tempted to live with it until it gets worse and just buy from a reputable company like EVGA next time. I only wish I would have researched MSi's reputation for service a little more.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsincredible price/performace ratio

Pros: for the price, this card is amazing. i can run games like Crysis, StarCraft 2, Arkham Asylum, and CoD Black Ops at 1680x1050 with all setting maxed. extremely easy to overclock with the MSI Afterburner software. runs very cool, even OC'd, due to the excellent heatsink/fan design.

Cons: at this price? no cons.

Other Thoughts: the MSI Afterburner software is incredible. you overclock with click-n-drag sliders; have the ability to save 5 different OC profiles; monitor GPU temp & usage. i easily overclocked mine to 850 core and 1920 memory with no stability or heat issues. this is THE card to buy for a gamer on a budget.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cards!

Pros: Great bang for the buck. Performs well, stays quiet, smaller form factor than most GTX 460s. Comes overclocked from reference design. A killer duo in SLI!

Cons: Relatively small frame buffer verses most newer cards. Also from what I've heard cap whine is normal when they're new and I experienced this as well. If you hear a strange buzzing sound the first few days of ownership, don't be alarmed. After usage this seems to subside.

Other Thoughts: One thing I'd really stress as a pro for people with smaller cases who are worried about picking a card that will perform well but also fit, is the small form factor. This card is only 7.9" long! vs. other 460's which are ~ 9".
