5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Still runs great on 1 Ghz overclock!

Cons: My three years warranty is expired.

Other Thoughts: I was able to remove the cooler to repaste the thermal compound and clean the fans, and it wasn't difficult to do so!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: An amazing 2010 card with an ability to keep up with games made even in 2012 on max settings. This card ran Crysis easily.... so much so that I could never understand why Crysis became a benchmarking utility capable of stressing cards to the max

Cons: 1) Poor fan quality
2) Poor lifespan
3) Poor heat dispersion in SLI setup (25C difference; top card ran at 99C, bottom card ran at ~75C). Although a lot of reviews state this card can operate at this temperature, I will not believe that this temperature could possibly promote even an average lifespan. In my books, anything operating remotely close to 100C equals a short term fail.

Other Thoughts: I had purchased 2 of these for an SLI setup in January of 2011. 2 years afterwards, 1 fan on each card had started to fail. They would either vibrate ridiculously loud or they wouldn't spin at all. The only way to make it stop was by opening Afterburner and forcing them to run at 100% to get rid of the wobble. Eventually alll 4 fans had failed. Ordered 4 new fans at a cost of $50. 1 week after installing the new fans, 1 card utterly failed and was no longer usable. I'm currently still using the good card but what a disappointment and waste of money.

5 out of 5 eggsChamp! Love MSI

Pros: I've had this card for more than 2 years now. It has never failed to preform! Max settings on ANY game I try. I would recommend MSI products to anyone looking to build a High Performance, Reliable and Stable computer system. This was on the low end of the cost/performance scale when I bought it, in terms of what was available on the market and yet it has out preformed and out lived any of my friends systems! I also run an MSI P67A mainboard which has proven to be as equally reliable and, for lack of a better term, Hardcore as anything else I could have gotten at the time. Kudos MSI and keep up the excellent work!

Cons: Due to the technology of Dual GPU graphics cards having been in they're early stages when this card hit the market and like pretty much all of them at the time. This card tends to run a bit on the hot side and requires a little bit more power than the newer models now available. Good thing MSI used a heat pipe cooling system on these card!

Other Thoughts: If your in the market building a new system, look at what MSI has to offer. I have been using MSI technology since 2007 and I have yet to be let down, not even a little.

1 out of 5 eggsvery bad customer service

Pros: runs well in the last year

Cons: froze the computer since Agu. this year

Other Thoughts: I tried to contact the MSI customer service department, but every time it played music for around 10 minus then transferred to the voice mail system. I left my information but never got response.
I also requested a RMA online. They said I needed to pay one-way shipping fee. That's quite ridiculously because I never saw that a company would ask customers to pay the shipping fee. Moreover, they requested me to mail the card first. They do NOT consider the situation that one need a video card to run the computer.
Overall, the MSI customer service is extremely bad. If you don't want to get into any troubles with this this, avoid buying MSI cards. At least I won't buy MSI cards anymore, never.

5 out of 5 eggsThis card just wont quit

Pros: Even now, runs BF3, Crysis 2, Metro 2033 above 40 fps = Ultra settings. Nvidia's continued driver support and updates have extended the life of this card tremendously (drivers 296.10 was a great performance jump)

Cons: None, seriously.

Other Thoughts: Stays super cold. Under full load, never approaches 60C, maybe, MAYBE, 55C. idles 28-30.

1 out of 5 eggsMSI Bair & Switch RMA

Pros: 460 itself

Cons: Extemely poor company practices.

Switch my 460 for a lower brand card. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a refurb.

Other Thoughts: I sent in my GTX 460 Hawk Talon Attack version for an RMA. I finally get the card back after about 3-4 weeks.

After installation, I realize the clocks are lower than my other Talon Attack.

The reason being is because the card I received was the regular GTX 460 Hawk And NOT the Talon Attack version.

If a company isn't going to honor you an "equal or greater card" in replacement, than why even bother purchasing from them?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued MSI Customer,

2 out of 5 eggsAwesome until random crashes

Pros: To this day a great card far as speed goes, will play any of my games on full specs with great frame rates on a 22' monitor. Amazing factory overlock.

Cons: Unfortunately, I also ended up with one of the troubled cards. I hadn't owned it for a year yet and suddenly I get random crashes on Ubuntu and Windows 7. I checked the system log files and the crashes all had to do with the gpu. Total frustration. It's like they say, avoid the 400 series like the plague. Very disappointed with nvidia and MSI on this one.

Other Thoughts: Would've been a 5-star card if not for the crashes and freezes.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued MSI Customer,
“Please contact MSI customer service representative Jane at janegao@msi.com, or call Jane at 626-913-0828 ext 221 with your case details. Thank you.”

5 out of 5 eggsWhere's my Second Hawk?

Pros: Great Card it was part of my animal Build.

Sabertooth P67, 850W Black Widow PSupply, and of course the Hawk Talon Attack with an i7 2600k cpu to finish it off.

It ran StarCraft 2, Empire/Napoleon Total War, Magic The Gathering 2012, Star Trek Online (like a Boss), and countless others I can't remember....

Cons: Nothing, other than Newegg isn't currently stocking it. I was planning a Double Bird Config SLI setup.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should buy more of these and send me an Email. I would love another to complete my build.

4 out of 5 eggsHELP I'M CONFUSED with the warranty...

Pros: AWESOME POWER!!..it's like a baby with a machine gun.

purchased on 12/2/10

need help with the on returning the card to get it fixed...who do i send it to?

Cons: mine came a little bruised, when i opened the UPS box to see the actually box for the card the box looked like someone kicked it...which was weird. Then, there was some weird residue on the card. Which i safely removed, using the proper amount of lighter fluid. Plugged it in, installed the drivers from online, and everything worked fine...but now my card is getting a little buggy when i play DX11 games...especially battlefield 3...i see crazy spikes and weird stuff...my 2 and 3 year warranty is still in effect, i just need help knowing how and where do i return this to get it fixed. If anyone please help, i would certainly be most thankful.

Other Thoughts: i need help on how to return this...i know....fail.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this card

Pros: Only good things to say about the card. In a stock Xion XON-EC001 case, Furmark, Guild Wars, and CS:S can't push the card past 61 degrees. Older Source games are played with max settings at over 150 fps, and the card doesn't top 30 degrees. My case is not doing this GPU justice - I can't wait for appropriate upgrades to start overclocking.

Cons: It's discontinued. That sucks.
