2 out of 5 eggsMSI 570GTX - The year after

Pros: Very Fast performamce
Extensive options via Nvidia Control Panel

Cons: Causes almost all 3D games to crash, especially with BF3 at Ultra settings. Noticed by artifacts, followed by a complete system crash. Formatted and reinstalled Windows 7 and it happened all over again

Other Thoughts: I'm just unlucky I guess

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money

Pros: 570 for a 560ti Price. 480 processor cores vs 560ti's 384 processor cores. Runs all my games 7-10fps avg faster than 560ti OC'ed

Cons: Had to do a bios flash because of artifacting out of the box but based on the reviews on this card I was prepared for that. It was very easy to do. MSI tech's E-mailed me a self running batch file that took care of it right in windows.

Other Thoughts: I've never had any issues with Nvidia cards until I got into the new Nvidia 5 series. I started out with a MSI 560ti SOC that worked awesome for the first 3 months then it started artifacting. 2 RMA's later they sent me one of these but the OC'ed addition because I refused a 3rd 560ti as an option. I must say it was a pain going so long without a decent video card but MSI cross-shipped for me and there tech's where very helpful when I called about the issue with this card. I've owned several MSI Nvidia cards in the past 6600gt, 6800gt, 7800gt, 8800gtx, gts250, and never had an issue. So when I buy a video card my first choice is to go MSI, and I'm glad I did because they took care of me.

5 out of 5 eggsGood card, good price

Pros: Fast, runs no hotter than 65C in my case at full load, fan never gets above 65% or so so it's fairly quiet IMO. Most of the time it idles at around 40% fan speed and is indistinguishable from the rest of my system.

Card that you get is a bit shorter than the card shown, which IMO is a plus because it can fit in more cases comfortably.

Cons: If you crank the fan to high speed it can get pretty loud (mostly just air noise, but still), but there's really not any reason to do that unless you're doing extreme overclocking or your case for some reason has poor cooling.

Other Thoughts: I've read some of the other reviews and heard some bad things about this card shortly after I ordered it. Honestly, I think it's perfectly fine. The design of the card I got is different than the one shown, i.e. the fan is a bit smaller and the card itself is shorter (which is a plus IMO), and apparently this one has a louder fan. I don't know about that, but this replaced 2 GTX 280s in my system and it's certainly a lot quieter than those, which I didn't consider to be that loud in the first place, so I'm satisfied. With the recent $50 rebate this card was a great buy.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: 3 Year Warranty.

Cons: Like many others have mentioned, this card gets hot and causes system crashes if not monitored closely. Eve Online caused it major problems when the captain's quarter patch was release, but the game released a patch to disable that code and everything was fine again. It has caused at least 3 system crashes during this weekend's Star Wars The Old Republic beta, so I am done with it. I am going back to Radeon and avoiding MSI like the plague.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud fan, NOT a reference design

Pros: Fast performance, good price when on sale.

Cons: My card came with a model# of V222 which is a 570 core on a 470 PCB and 470 cooler, from what the internet forums are saying. This results in a MUCH louder fan than what's on the reference 570.

Did I mention LOUD FAN!?!

Other Thoughts: Not a reference 570 design.

V801 in the model # I believe is a reference design, which is in the overclocked version of this card (N570GTX-M2D12D5/OC). But reading those reviews, I'm not sure you're any better off due to artifacting.

3 out of 5 eggsRemoved GTX 470, looks like I'm putting another one back in!

Pros: Cheapest 570 on here, working so far. No funky graphics or artifacts. Faster than my 470.

Cons: Well, I ordered what I THOUGHT was a reference model GTX 570. What I got was a GTX 470 PCB and cooler, with a 570 GPU and RAM. I did some google searching, found out this has happened to a few other people as well. At this point, I am going to email for a return, or an exchange for a model closer to what I planned on getting. I am afraid to try overclocking at this point, who knows if it can handle it... I guess I don't like putting 75% of the same card back into my computer for over $300.

Other Thoughts: I will update if anything changes, for now I am posting this so others think twice before making this purchace.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst reactions...

Pros: Bought this card for the extra CUDA cores for speed up Adobe Premiere. Haven't tested that yet, but I'm sure it will work as intended. The fan enclosure funnels heat directly out of the case.

Cons: Much louder than the MSI 460GTX Cyclone it replaced. The included driver (version 263 I believe) didn't recognize the hardware. I already had an updated driver (v.275) installed that did. ASUS EPU-6 Engine (that controls fans speeds and such) doesn't recognize the MSI GTX 570, so no controlling the fan noise there. I think it's just the design, size and enclosure that make it noisy, rather than the speed.

Other Thoughts: It's a smaller in height due not having such a huge heatsink/fan, but a longer card than MSI 460GTX. We'll see if the fan noise is too much to handle. Kind of hard to edit video/audio with a small turbine next to you. Perhaps the performance will make up for the noise.

2 out of 5 eggsArtifacts, then dead

Pros: fast when it works
minimum noise

Cons: weak fan
artifacts
it randomly dies without OC?

Other Thoughts: Bought this card back in May, at normal speed artifacts started about 2 weeks. I am using a well ventilated nzxt phantom case with very good cable management. Artifacts started to get worse during the last month when playing dragon age. Card randomly died next weekend. Looking forward to get an RMA for another card that doesn't work like the other customers. MSI should just send us an upgrade and stop this joke.
