3 out of 5 eggsPoor longevity.

Pros: The card served me well for around 2 years and played any game on the market during that time

Cons: Fans started making a weird noise 19~ months in.

Stopping working completely ~23 months in.

This is not a story unique to me.

Other Thoughts: This card is already obsolete anyways, so find something else.

Especially if you are looking for something that will last awhile.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Recall

Pros: The card has outstanding graphics and performance.... when it performs

Cons: I built a new system with all new components
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition
2 x G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3
2 x 2 TB WD HD ( lost one due to the constant self reboot)
MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II OC Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
After about a month the screen would defrag and system would just reboot. Temp always read fine, and I even tried underclocking. Sometimes I could go a week. Sometimes it would reboot several times in a day.
Didn't matter if it was pushed under a load or just sitting idle. I wasn't sure it was the video until I read some other posts on this card. I was reading identical problems, so I have went away from MSI.

Other Thoughts: Sounds like there should be a mass recall instead of sweeping the problem under the rug to save their reputation.

2 out of 5 eggsFailing after just 1 year

Pros: The card is a haus. That is when it works. It's surprised me for the longest time that most games don't seem to treat it as such. Still it has been able to run anything I've thrown at it.

Cons: The card is absolutely massive. That's well noted in the specs though. My current issue is that one of the dvi ports is going out. This effectively hinders a dual monitor setup. Now the card does have other ports. It has an hdmi and 2 mini display ports. I've tried hooking a dvi to hdmi cable from my monitor to the card's hdmi slot. That seems to work...yet when I hook up my 2nd monitor with a dvi cable or even a vga to dvi to the working dvi port on the card, only one monitor is displayed. It seems to be an either or thing and that's just not acceptable for a card I paid almost $300 for at the time.

I'm unsure of where I've put the packaging so I'm not sure I can get a replacement for this. Also, I haven't finished my due diligence by calling the manufacturer and inquiring with them about how to proceed. So, bottomline, there's more I can try on my side; however, there is no mistaking that one of the dvi ports went out and there's no good reason for it.

2 out of 5 eggswent up in smoke

Pros: none?

Cons: Not sure if it was working to begin with. I purchased two for crossfire and I noticed a lot of stuttering. I took one out and it worked fine so i thought it must be the crossfire not working. However when i went and put the other card in a different computer it just glitched out and died. Smelled like smoke so i had to pull it out.

Other Thoughts: I tried to contact the manufacturer but they never called back. The other graphics card works good so i just want an exchange.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: The card simply runs any game I play at the highest settings, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare, CS:GO, etc...

Cons: Never got a coupon for Dirt, I was kind of hoping to try it out

Other Thoughts: I love this card, I docked it an egg for no Dirt coupon, otherwise it would have received a 5

2 out of 5 eggsGood card, terrible service

Pros: The card ran beautifully for 1 year and 3 months. Was very quiet, though quite warm. No problem installing, no hiccups for the time period.

Cons: At the 1 year and 3 month mark, the fans stopped working, so I RMA'd the card and shipped it. I hear nothing from MSI for 3 weeks.

Then I get an email out of the blue saying they don't have the parts to fix it or any comparable replacements and that they will reimburse me for "market value" which was around half of what the card was still selling for on Newegg!

When I call the RMA number a guy who sounds completely unintelligible and whose manager is "at lunch" all the time informs me that there is no one in the RMA department I can talk to and that they will email me. I am not the type of person who normally has these kinds of issues with phone support people.

Other Thoughts: I enjoyed the card while it lasted, but I will never be doing business with MSI again over their terrible customer/technical support.

5 out of 5 eggsPurchased 5/22/11

Pros: The only reason I'm writing this review is because I noticed they're in stock again. If you're looking for a good performing card without the bleeding edge price, consider this card while they're still in stock. I've owned mine for about 15 months and so far it's still running strong.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was able to flash the BIOS and unlock the card to a 6970, albeit a lower clocked version. GPU-Z confirmed 1536 unified shaders.

1 out of 5 eggsFinal Opinions on this card.

Pros: Worked great when it worked the day it worked.. Otherwise none.

Cons: Well. I have 2 reviews before this one on the card explaining my situation, and after being denied an RMA because sticker was not attatched to the card itself (note the serial number sticker was not even attatched to the back of the card, it was on the front on a VGA fan, so I had to take it off or I would face with overheating the card). So what I did was told Newegg about this, but since I did'nt take any pictures I was denied my RMA. Oh well. I want to try to send this back to MSI and see what they say.. kind of sucks alot that I had to buy a new card, but I had faith in MSI and bought a Twin Frozr II 570 and it works like a charm. Probably forever going to use Nvidia cards. They work like a charm and I get zero lag on all games that I play at max settings.

Other Thoughts: I hope MSI allows an RMA. I really would like my money back. The sticker has no damage and you can still read the serial number. I believe it is stupid that if the sticker is taken off and has no damage that an RMA is declined. Of course it's my sticker and my card. I bought it, my name is on the receipt, and the box is in perfect condition.

2 out of 5 eggsNice but already dead

Pros: It said cool 24/7 no matter what ran D3 on high and Lol on the highest it could go. Never went more than 45c. BUT THATS IT

Cons: Had it for exactly 1 and half months. But one day i turned it on and its almost dead the, artifacts are all over the place. I only run 1 21 monitor on dvi, for 300 it shouldov lasted way longer. I didnt believe any of the reviews untill now... To top its off THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CLOSE Fri to sun, so your done, they take your money for a product that last about a month right after the time where you can exchange it for a new one instore. then they are close so you cant call. Shotty business i think. Im switching to EVGA, 300 can get me a pretty nice evga with better customer service and better product life....

Other Thoughts: Im very disappointed, I mean seriously, you spend all the time and money building a 1k plus system and this stuff ( since i cant say what i want happens.....
