1 out of 5 eggsWarranty does not include fan

Pros: Its a 570 gtx. Very good card. Bought this to sli with my current EVGA (who has a 3 year warranty that covers the fan no problem)

Cons: Fan broke after 2 weeks of use. RMA'd to MSI. MSI says the warranty does not cover the fan. Which means MSI knows that these fans are faulty.

Other Thoughts: Seriously. After 2 weeks, I turned the PC on to be greeted with a buzz and a snap.

How can you not warranty the fan?

Also, MSI wants $50 to fix it. Just buy a fan off newegg. Probably be better but don't get the MSI Reference fan.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
Our warranty covers the card and the fan for full 3-year, however if it's physically damaged then it's not covered by the warranty and we will charge you a $55 fee to replace it.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with our tech support team directly at 626.271.1004 for assistance during regular business hours from M to F, 9am to 6pm Pacific Time.
Or you can email us at usreview@msi.com, thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed Display Drivers

Pros: Supposedly best in class

Cons: Bought this because it was best in class I thought, I have had continuous problems with failed display drivers ever since purchase. It normally happens when watching a flash video or on a flash website. AFter the display driver stops I have to reboot my PC to get it working again. This sucks because I use VMWare and have like 2-3 servers that I have to reboot because of this (its a home test environment). I have no idea how to fix this, I have done a ton of research and isolated it to the video card/display driver.

Other Thoughts: Any help form MSI on this would be awesome but I am having an even harder time getting ahold of them.

2 out of 5 eggsNothing but problems since day 1

Pros: I spent a lot of money on this card and bought it because it was supposedly the best at the time.. It is a highly rated card.

Cons: Since day 1 I have had issues with the display drivers crashing or saying that they failed and were reloaded. It often happens when I run youtube.com or a flash video player. For awhile I though it might have been due to lucid logix/virtu so I disabled this and also updated the drivers and the problem still occurs. I cant use my media editing pc to watch youtube videos without it crashing after 2-3 videos. Not sure what to do but if you google display drivers stopped working many users recommend back dating the driver set, which I tried and it still did not fix the issue.

Other Thoughts: would really appreciate some feed back from the manufacturer on this 1 as the card was near 400 dollars and I just cant get it to work.

1 out of 5 eggsMSI Fail.

Pros: Ehh, it was fairly quiet, and it ran fairly cool. See cons though...

Cons: Could run at stock overclock without crashing and getting errors in almost every game. CTD all over the place. Dropped it down to stock clocks and the problem went away. Why did I buy a high end stock OC card to run it at stock clocks? Basically, they sold a card at clocks it couldn't handle. Should have just got my money back then. I liked the quietness of it though, so I kept it. Couple months later, today, it just started an awful unbalanced fan ticking noise that won't go away. Tried a few things that normally fix that problem, blowing it out with compressed air, cleaning it, checked fans, ect. Nothing fixes it. I guess I have to RMA it to MSI, 1 day after I bought Battlefield 3, and a week from a bunch of other games I pre-ordered coming out. I honestly don't even want the card back if its just going to do this again.

Other Thoughts: I upgrade 1-2 times a year. This is the first time I've tried MSI. I liked the look of their products, and some of the reviews were good, but I guess no reviews are based on longevity. Probably the first and last time buying MSI for me, unless they can pony up some really good customer service, but I'm not holding my breath.

1 out of 5 eggscard died within a day

Pros: While it worked, it was fast and it ran cool.

Cons: Hmm lets see.
It died within 5 hours after receiving it from Newegg. The system powered down during a game and that was that. Card no longer works. According to hardware forums, the reference 570's use cheap/non efficient power supply units, and that is the root cause of the cards dying. That is funny seeing as these cards are $350.00...Imo, buy a Frozr III model or the Asus DU version, both are non ref cards and use quality power supply units. So those cards will likely last longer than a day.

1 out of 5 eggsDied After 3 Months

Pros: Plays pretty much all games on High/Max Settings.
65C Full Load In a semi hot room.

Cons: Died after 3 months with no OCing other than factory OC. Really expected more from this "Military Class" product.
First MSI gpu, and probably last depending on how RMA process goes.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Runs extremely quiet and cool. MSI Afterburner is an awesome utility. Runs all my games without a hitch on all high settings at 1920x1080 resolution on a q9550 @ 4.0GHz.

Cons: Pricey

Other Thoughts: Can't wait for BF3 and Skyrim on this beast.

2 out of 5 eggsPowerfully disappointing

Pros: It's powerful, and doesn't break a sweat for most games.

Cons: Crashy crashy crashy. I have Just Cause 2, GTA4, and Deus Ex: HR, and will get a guaranteed video card failure within the first 2 minutes when I first launch any of these games. Sometimes the game can recover and I can continue playing (GTA4). Other times, the game crashes to the desktop. If I relaunch the game, it might work for a while, or it might crash again (Just Cause 2, sometimes Deus Ex). Most of the time, however, the card simply locks up the system, and I am forced to reboot. Underclocked, overclocked, factory defaults; it doesn't matter. New drivers, old drivers; nothing helps.

Other Thoughts: I was planning using this in an SLI build, but due to the frequent failures I'm contemplating tossing this thing in the recycle bin instead. I'm going to try some aftermarket cooling first, though - hopefully the crashes are heat related. I doubt it, since the crashes occur so soon after launching a resource-intensive program, but we'll see.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware X4

Pros: this cards ran great for the first two weeks. DX 11 games look and feel amazing. GPU temp never goes above 72 even under Heaven Benchmark. I've owned four msi cards and the first three were great.

Cons: After a week or two this card just breaks. Visual tearing, choppy gameplay and flashing wrong colored textures. Won't even load graphically demanding games like crysis and warhead, crashes and locks. This will be the fourth time I've RMA'd

Other Thoughts: Really disappointed in MSI on this one, Loved my 8800 gt oc, 9800 GT and my gtx 275 twin frozor, all great cards, all still working. I really hope they can get it right this time and if this is a design flaw that they give me a different card. Don't buy this model if you don't have a backup card for when you have to RMA it. Here I go for the fourth RMA, hope they get it right this time, fingers crossed.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Quiet

Cons: I want to second AJD's comments. The GPU runs cool but the rest of the card doesn't. Mine started to die after 2 months. I have a very well ventilated case, so maybe that's why its lasting more than 2.5 weeks for me. I rma'd my first card and MSI sent me a brand new one. The second card is now starting to die just like the first.

Other Thoughts: Don't think I'll rma again. I am going to bite the bullet and go with a different manufacturer. I really wanted to like this card =(
