5 out of 5 eggsMy brother loves this card

Pros: Runs in HP slimline with stock 220w PSU
Very low heat generation
Works with MSI Afterburner
Low profile brackets install easy

Cons: Not the best graphics by a long shot
Need an adapter to use VGA with the low profile brackets.

Other Thoughts: My brother plays wow.....a lot, and his hp slim line was having trouble keeping up, so I had him buy this card, put it in with the stock 220w psu and it runs wow on low graphics very very easily, and stopped the lag for him.
Windows 7 didn't see it right away so i pulled it back out, installed drivers, and then it worked fine.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing for DVI, but not VGA

Pros: Quality is phenomenal on dvi, with a good screen.
It fit my computer well, no problems with an HP pavilion.

Cons: VGA was a little worse than built in.
It had a lot of software included, and it was not explained, so you had to install it to see what it was, then take it off if you didn't want it.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, if you want a DVI input for a non-compatible built in VGA, this is exactly what to go for. I paid $20 after a rebate, but it seems that it would be worth the 30 as well. The picture quality is astounding, running an LED LCD Asus monitor, off of an HP computer. It also seems to have good 3D rendering, but I'm not a gamer, so I can't compare it to much. It plays HD videos well, and color looks great. I have yet to try the HDMI port, as I have no cord. I actually kept some of the included software, which I usually NEVER do. There was a driver updater that did all my computer hardware, which was surprising, but convenient.

4 out of 5 eggsSweet for basic use

Pros: Got the card open box for $15 shipped, what a steal! I was using a NV 9500GS & getting a benchmark of 25000 with 3d mark 2k. I put that card in my TV box for home theater & installed the new Radeon card. I'm now getting approx 24000 for a bench mark . Blows away the onboard video by twice the score.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I had purchased a NV 8400GS previously, what a dog that was. It was slower than my nv 6600 card & just slow all the way around. I'm happy with the Radeon card. I did notice heat sink was loose. I put some new thermal paste on gpu & tighten it up, all good.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for my build

Pros: low profile mount.
No cooling fan.
HDMI out.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Installed in a Media PC with windows 7. Looking for a card with HDMI out and no cooling fan (noise concerns). This card fit the bill perfectly and installed without issue. The video and sound quality from the HDMI are perfectly acceptable.

Another poster rated this 1 egg for not working under windows XP. I don't think that is fair to the product considering Windows XP went end of life so long ago. It is not advertised as being compatible with Windows XP, and I'm sure there is a much broader market to manufacture items compatible with current Operating Systems than obsolete Operating Systems. I think it's a bit foolish at this point to expect hardware to work with XP unless it is explicitly stated in the description. I'm sure it also probably wouldn't work with Windows 3.1, perhaps we should dock points for that as well?

4 out of 5 eggsSolid replacement card for dying on board video

Pros: I needed an inexpensive replacement card to run dual displays on my office workstation, the onboard Intel video started acting wonky. For the price, this card is probably hard to beat. Runs cool under office loads, passive heatsink makes no noise, handles dual 1680x1050 just fine, as expected. I have not done any gaming or video encoding and probably never will. This will be for 95% office work. Using supplied half-height backing plates, it was a snug fit, but was installed into my Lenovo SFF workstation without much fuss.

Cons: The VGA output quality is poor. I have run the same setup on both this card and the original onboard video, primary display = DVI, secondary display = VGA. The Intel chipset offered a much better picture quality over the VGA connection, the DVI quality appears about the same. Running the latest ATI Catalyst driver and LCD driver from HP, the VGA picture is still washed out with lacking contrast and dull colors compared to when the same monitor ran over the same VGA cable to the onboard video. Tweaking within the Catalyst controls improves things, but not by much. Minor complaint in the big scheme of things, and for a secondary display that I really only use to read email, the picture is acceptable. I am just slightly disappointed that the overall picture quality was a bit better running integrated graphics.

Other Thoughts: Not purchased via Newegg, I needed this quickly in a pinch, so I had to source it locally.

1 out of 5 eggsDEAD ON ARRIVAL

Pros: Came with the low profile brackets, that's about the only good thing

Cons: The card came dead on arrival and would not display in either vga or dvi, even tried a different card and that card worked with the same monitor, i also bought the last card, so i probably cant return, the packaging was standard and the drivers were the worst not user friendly and would not install on win xp

Other Thoughts: This puts me off from msi even tho it was a low cost card. Just had ordered it for a customer at our shop

5 out of 5 eggsNOT MISLEADING

Pros: This card, unlike the HD4350, is not a mobile chip and does not require specific manufacturer drivers to work properly, this is a big advantage to me, keeping track of the original CD is a headache.
This card is only 19 watt TDP, meaning it draws almost zero power compared to all other real video cards out there, combined with the fact that it is a HD5xxx series, this means it has all the advanced hardware video decode assist available with the newer (verymuch newer) chipset.
The card never really gets over 65c for me when doing video decode with the passive heatsink, which is really nice for a passive video card... perfect for the modern 1080P HD PVR / HTPC.

Cons: The only disadvantage I can find to this card is that the VGA connector does need some fenagling to get into an adjacent low profile slot if used as such, including taking off the plastic jacket for the VGA connector that sits inside the case.
Remember also, this is a video card targeted at low wattage and build cost so this is not the best card to game with - the easiest way to tell that is the bitwidth of the ram bus combined with it's GDDR3 usage.

Other Thoughts: The card does dual display just fine when in a LP case using the LP bracket. I think the other poster conveniently forgot there is a DVI and HDMI port on the main bracket, and if you want another VGA port you can always buy a DVI to VGA adapter for like 3 bucks. I think that poster forgot how cheap this card is, and how little profit the manufacturer sees from this kind of card. C'mon, it has three different video outputs and is an HD5xxx series, that's wonderful for this pricepoint!

2 out of 5 eggsMISLEADING

Pros: Umm it came with a box... and puts fuzzy bunnys in motion

Cons: It is listed as being a half height card that does dual display.. Well the cable the VGA header uses is MUCH too short to bend and reach the 2nd slot.

Other Thoughts: Goo Chuckles, Dechache, and Bleekblak08 :)
