5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, worked right out of the box, recognized no problem by both WinXP Pro SP3 and Win7 Ult.

Cons: Not as powerful as a higher end card but you better expect that for the price and series

Other Thoughts: Got it in Dec 2012, has worked just fine so far. Purchased to upgrade from onboard Radeon HD 4000 on MSI 880GM-E41. Playing World of Tanks online its kicked my FPS to the 30's-50's from the mid teens and runs well and fairly cool. Avg gaming temp is 48C.

4 out of 5 eggsCaution

Pros: - fits low profile case
- no fan / low power req
- low level gaming is fine
- Windows 7 found and loaded driver fine

Cons: - DO NOT LOAD ATI CCC ... locks out MOB sound output

Other Thoughts: Ended up doing clean install of Win 7, and let OS find/load driver for the MSI card. Works fine for light gaming, no apparent need for the CCC application.

1 out of 5 eggsResolution beyone 1920x1080 is impossible

Pros: Easy install. Thats about it.

Cons: The card specs indicate Max Resolution2560 x 1600. however I am convinced that is impossible and a really cruel joke to play on someone. I am running this card with an 27" ASUS PB278 using a Dual Link DVI cable and cannot get better than 1920x1080. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit with 3GB RAM on a Dell Precision T3400. I should have sprung for a better card.

Other Thoughts: Any help from MSI or Newegg would be great. Otherwise I am going to RMA this card because it does not support any resolution greater than 1920x1080, and the reason I bought a $700 monitor was for 2560x1440

1 out of 5 eggsBad Card

Pros: None see below.

Cons: I purchased this card for a customer. It worked for about a week then started producing lines across the screen. Had to create RMA and pay to ship it to MSI to fix. Took over a month to get the card back and it still does not work. I junked the card and purchased another one from another manufuctor and have not had any problems.

Other Thoughts: Just an FYI when you rma with MSI it is all done online and there is really no way to follow up and check on the progress. All you can do is goto the website and it will say processing but you cannot follow up or add anything to the RMA.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Video Card

Pros: 1. Worked right out of the box.
2. Fits perfectly in a small form factor pc (HP Compaq dc5750).
3. Low power consumption (using a 240 watt PS).
4. Plays nice with Ubuntu 12.04.
5. Including the low profile brackets was important in my decision to buy this item.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I was impressed at how easy it was to install this card. This is a noticeable step up from the integrated graphics on a business machine.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Entry Card

Pros: This card is very good for average stress levels. I did not need to tweak my stock power supply. Its been running since March 2012. It fits into a Dell Optiplex GX280 SFF just fine. The heatsink is fanless and nothing but fins on fins to disperse heat.

Cons: When running my VGA monitor I had to modify my case just to use the VGA plug (not a huge deal). Runs around 70C

Other Thoughts: Decent for Solidworks 2011 and maybe 2012. Runs Fallout 3 on mid settings (DVI) at about 21 to 26 fps (depending on your processor load)

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Dell Optiplex GX280 SFF
Pentium 4 @ 2.8Ghz w/Hyperthreading
2Gb DDR2 SDRAM
7200RPM HDD
Stock power supply

***Card might be transplanted into next build***

1 out of 5 eggsStill Can't get it to work

Pros: Works well with one vga input monitor

Cons: But I bought it to use it with a second monitor. The vga and HIMI inputs apparently don't work together. I've learned a lot about DVI-D, I.... I'm awaiting my third dvi to vga converter. This has been a real pain.

Other Thoughts: Spent about a month reading forums for an answer and the only thing that makes sense is that it won't show a monitor connected to the HDMI or the DVI-D at the same time a monitor is plugged in the vga input. It may also be that my Dell doesn't have the power needed.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

You can't convert the DVI signal to VGA at all since this card uses DVI-D which only provides digital signal and contains no analog signal.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the product, received the unit back from RMA but are still having issues, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at usreview@msi.com and we will be more than happy to assist you, thank you.

pixels showing on screen, screen freezing, etc until the monitors failed to read the card completely.
