5 out of 5 eggs can't believe I bought mine for $370.00 BRAND NEW!!!

Pros: At this time none

Cons: Absolutely breathtaking frame rates and benchmarking ! My system is liquid cooled and has 4x 230 mm fans so cooling this bad boy isn't a problem.

Have run games like crysis 3, Lara croft tomb raider 2013, darksiders 2, Dishonored, Hitman and battlefield 3 on ultra high settings .
No problem at all and that's not even the best part .....I have not even overclocked it yet!!!!

Hands down best value for money I might get msi 7970 lightning and cross fire these babies!!!

Other Thoughts: Man oh I was a little unsure at buying msi VRAM first but best decision ever

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 7970

Pros: Unlocked voltage: Be careful many brands are locking some of them XFX, Gigabyte two names I know for a fact have a couple of voltage locked 7970.

Reference design so full cover water blocks fit. A must for me and others

Mine runs very cool at stock clocks and runs pretty cool at 1160mhz on air I have a big case with good air flow.

Built like a tank all quality parts here nothing cheap.

3gb of Vram

Cons: Higher power usage compared too the high end Nvidia cards which are computing handicapped. So it does make up for it.

This reference design does get loud when at about 40% fan and gets even louder at 55% fan never had it above 60% since I don't like to run them maxed.

Small case owners might want too beware it's big and then there still could be cooling problems do to bad airflow.

Other Thoughts: Got mine too 1200mhz pretty easy stable with many games at about 1.20v memory at 1575mhz at 55% fan or so Crysis 3 would make the gpu get in the high 70s and it's winter right now. I'm heat limited not Silicon limited which is great because I plan too water cool. I backed it down some 1160mhz 1500 mem lol I know only 40mhz core but I needed quite a bit less voltage for it so it runs cooler.

ASCI: 74.9

The fan does get loud but it is very effective no heat in my case all goes out the back like a blower style cooler should.

Where it say MSI on the bracket if it was just slots it would probably lower max load temps a couple of degrees celsius minimum lol not like I can see it in the back of my case it is nice looking when you look at it though.

For $430 I think we should get a real nice case badge but you get nothing my Evga gtx560 non ti came with a nice case badge not a little sticker but a nice badge and I paid $170 for it a year or so ago.

This is my first red team gpu the drivers on new games like Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, Bioshock have been real good.

Paired with a FX8350 ASUS 990fx gen3 mobo runs everything great loving my new rig. Saved a bundle buy not going Intel do I have the best rig in the world no but did I pay a lot less yes.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Incredible performance. Reference design 7970, so it fits the Heatkiller waterblock I bought perfectly. Haven't had an excuse to overclock yet since I'm too busy playing games at max settings like liquid butter.

Cons: Under load, there's a bit of an obnoxious coil/choke whine from a small component towards the rear of the card. It's not so bad with the case doors on (and obviously with audio blasting while gaming). All video cards I've had going way back to the R9800 have had this to some extent. I think it's unreasonable not to expect a little noise with the high power/high draw cards.

Stock cooling is barely adequate - I was seeing GPU temps close to 80C after a few 3DMark runs. Under water it stays under 45C while running Furmark. :-)

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievable card

Pros: So far everything. I installed, downloaded catalyst and ran Kombuster burn-in for 12 hours. So far there is no game which I cannot run with all settings on high. I play the free Crysis on my 47" lcd and it is outstanding. I havent even overclocked this yet.

Cons: None so far. People with problems with new systems usually dont take the time for a full burn in before they over clock. Memory especially needs this.

Other Thoughts: If this card drops below $400 Im getting a couple more. Going to try crossover mode.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Amazing

Pros: Voltage unlocked you do have to enable stuff in AMD's CCC program and just use Trixx I couldn't get msi AB to allow me control voltage. There's a little vdrop in Trixx.

Runs real cool at stock temps and cool at 1125mhz and 1575 mem with a little voltage.

AMD Reference card: Full Water Blocks available which was a must for me.

Best quality MSI didn't skimp on anything from the plastic shroud to the silicon.

Mine came 1010mhz @ 1.100v according to gpu-z Trixx says 1.112v

Cons: Only getting one not cheap.

Get's pretty loud at about 60% fan but it is very effective none in your case it blows it out the back of the case.

No case badge for 400+ we should get a nice one.

Other Thoughts: I can hit 1200mhz, 1575 mem at 1.200v= 1.86v cus of vdrop in trixx
GPU-z never says max above 1.86v.

I plan on water cooling this bad-boy and I hit the silicon lottery I'm heat limited and on water I know I can get this thing to 1300 @ like 1.250v in gpu-z. For 24/7 use will keep at 1200mhz or so when on water. Thank you MSI. aslo

Be careful XFX and Gigibyte both have 7970s that are voltage locked and oc like shi t. I bought a 379.99 xfx dd 925mhz it was voltage locked at 1.175v and wouldn't oc 30mhz stable in a couple of games I returned it. This MSI came 1010mhz at 1.100v really thats all that needs be said. n

5 out of 5 eggsJust The Right Spot

Pros: Upgrade from AMD HD 6950 2GB xfx and I have actually been able to clock a 68% performance increase in frames per second for alot of my games. Very nice card and Highly recommend.

Cons: Fan is one serious vacuum cleaner on 50% or more.

Other Thoughts: Even though the fan is loud if you are truly a gamer, is your case and fans and system really that quiet? Come now, I bet it can get loud.

5 out of 5 eggsWorkhorse

Pros: I bought this for some gaming, but mostly crunching Help Conquer Cancer for World Community Grid. Running11 WU's at a time with this card at 1125 MHz with stock voltage 24/7 with fan speed at 37% and temps never get above 61C. This card alone is cranking out an average of 115,586 points daily and it has yet to even hiccup.

Cons: *Rebates - (Although I've never had a problem with MSI rebates)
*MSI/Newegg don't run enough sales on these
*I don't have 3 of these

Other Thoughts: System: MSI 990FXA-GD80 MB, AMD FX-8150 running at 4.3 GHz, * 8GB G-Skill Ripjaw 2133MHz, Kingston 120 GB SSD/WD 500GB, Apevia case with Koolance BK-750 drop-in-kit cut into case for cooling

5 out of 5 eggsreally fast

Pros: really fast. very solid

Cons: Huge. you will need a large case
power hungry. you need at least 600W PSU
very loud under load.

Other Thoughts: the speed outweighs the cons listed. I am buying another one for Crossfire.
