4 out of 5 eggsGave me some trouble for some years, but better now

Pros: Good price/performance ratio at the time.
MSI provides a live updater that detects if your system is UEFI and update bios accordingly.

Cons: Not ATI fault, but lacks some NVidia features like in hardware Physics acceleration. Games that use those features will be heavily penalized in AMD cards.

Card give me constant black screens from time to time since purchase. Wasn't every day, or exactly at the same time, but usually the black screen or screen locks where there.

Other Thoughts: Had it on an MSI motherboard the black screens where not that frequent. Sometimes once a day and each day. Sometimes once a week. Sometimes 3-5 min of computer time, sometimes after long sessions.

But on the new system, a Skylake based machine with an ASRock Z170M Extreme 4, it was a pain. Most of the time card was freezing, or turning off the Fast Boot.

Actually fixed it by loading a Gigabyte Windforce UEFI bios on it. Do a research first, and found both cards had same ports, RAM brand and configuration. No more black screens, freezes, etc, etc. after that. Staying with it until Polaris or NV next gen.

3 out of 5 eggsCard didnt survive, but MSI earned my loyalty

Pros: Price, Performance, MSI warranty.

Cons: Died around 13 months in, replacement card(referb) of the 7970 died in under 9.

Other Thoughts: Original died, the 2nd card died, and because of my experience I was much more successful navigating the RMA process. They deserve a lot of praise, the replacement card carry's a full warranty(not just the remainder of the original) and while I have a backup card so I didn't feel to much pain, the last card they sent me is a jewel. They upgraded my to current architecture and I couldn't be more satisfied.

1 out of 5 eggsGood While it Lasted

Pros: Amazing card, everything runs great, kept very cool.

Cons: A few months later running any program that needs a good amount of gpu (furmark, farcry 3 etc.) will run the temperature up TWENTY DEGREES IN LESS THAN THREE SECONDS. It will then creep to 79 where my computer will crash without fault. I'm not sure why this is happening but I am really unhappy with the result of buying this card. I can't do anything that uses my gpu now.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what to do apart from RMA it, the whole thing is really a hassle.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Very easy to install into my Carbide 500R case, plenty or room. Runs almost silent. This is in my new gaming computer and it has been running great. The install was very easy and the cables run very clean. I have been running games at up to 140fps on ultra graphics. I love the card and feel it can handle anything i through at it these days. The MSI software is easy to use though I don't need to overclock the GPU as it is running great. even when i max out the card I can not hear the fans running and the GPU stays cool. I would buy this again in a heart beat and will for the next build I do/ or if i go to a dual GPU i will give this card a try though there is nothing out there that i have played that this card can not handle with ease

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsGreat card...when it works

Pros: -Looks nice
-Works very well (when it works)

Cons: -Since purchasing this card, I have had the infamous black screen/sound loop issue, where while playing a game, the screen will suddenly go black, the last ~.1 second of sound will loop infinitely and the only thing I can do is a hard reset of the computer (I can't alt tab, open task manager, anything). After having this issue for about a month, I RMA'd my first one, and had no issues with the one I got back for a few months, but I just started having the issue again. It's a great card when it works but this issue is just not worth it.

5 out of 5 eggs1 is good, 2 is better

Pros: Ordered 1 for my initial build, recently ordered a second, and these things blow every game out of the water at the highest possible settings.

PS2 at true-ultra, Far Cry 3, Skyrim with true-HD mods etc.

Cons: Runs slightly warm for my tastes, but the last time I had a desktop was when 8800GTs were the big thing, so I guess this may just be part of adjusting to newer hardware (temps are comparable to other builds using these cards)

Other Thoughts: Great cards, awesome price point, not really much to complain about. Just make sure you have a decent PSU to run two of these (like any dual+ build)

Cons: After few time playing, its fan become noisy. Lose an egg because it.

Other Thoughts: After all, it is a great GPU. Temperature close to 60 celsius even after a long play time.

5 out of 5 eggs3 months of hardcore gaming +++!

Pros: Maxed out settings on BF3 "Ultra" mode... I fly jets in the game frequently. Played with native settings and latest drivers and have NEVER had a problem in 3 months since I built this rig. Paired it with an MSI Z77-G45 and an I7 3770k... Everything native and PCIex 3.0. Still running the stock coolers but built inside a HAF-X 942, so I have PLENTY of airflow. The card is pushed and has never failed.

Cons: No cons, no problems at all. It's very quiet until pushed, then the fans spin up and get loud, but that is expected as a deterent to prevent thermal runaway.

Other Thoughts: I've been a micro/miniature certifed electronics technician since 1990. I've built and or repaired hundreds of computers. I build a new computer at least once a year for myself and this one is the first one to experience NO video problems.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Fast, quiet, came with a game, great bang for buck, overclocks well, .... it just works as it should which is more than i can say for (see cons)...

Cons: ...my first card. It crashed and froze up before RMA. The new card has been trouble free for months now. Newegg is always great about RMA's!

Other Thoughts: I Love The Custom Cooler!
