5 out of 5 eggsGreat HDMI card

Pros: Low profile, solid construction, fast for this low price range. Drivers work with XP and newer OS. Low profile option is good for PCs that come in that form factor.

Cons: Heatsink is warm but not ideal for cooking waffles.

The driver CD that the card came with was blank... empty!!! ? Had to go online to find drivers which turned out to be easy. MSi has a good website.

Other Thoughts: Great card. I like to go with items that have a larger heatsink and no fan if possible. Less noise and fewer mechanical items to fail down the road. It still cools adequately. Has onboard sound card like it should so your HDMI sends video and audio to the TV. Works great to use a computer on a larger screen. Set up was quick once I found the drivers online. No video flickering or any quirks at all so far. Have been using it for 3 days with no trouble.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat video card for the money!

Pros: Fast and easy setup, it's an NVIDIA so you to use their frequently-updated drivers
Dualview monitor support

Cons: The only con is that you'll need to remember any monitors need to be plugged in before bootup when setting up dualview, otherwise the option will be missing. I suspect this is an XP thing, can't speak for Windows 7 since I haven't upgraded yet.

Other Thoughts: It may be reporting to the OS that you have 1 GB of VRAM but it's actually 512. This is part of an NVIDIA feature that uses shared RAM on your system for more framebuffer. Sort of how virtual memory works on Windows

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievably great

Pros: I have a 1GB version of this in another system and they are both performing extremely well. Actually, can't find much difference between this one and the 1GB model. Easy installation of hardware and software. Running cool. Great color, definition and speed. Don't know how MSI does this for the price.

Cons: Absolutely none!

Other Thoughts: Replaced another brand/name adapter with this and I don't think I will ever use anything but Ge-Force from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: For $10 it's a pretty nice video card.
Better than the on-board video I had
Great for online streaming and other video playback
Exchangeable front mounting plate to fit multiple cases

Cons: Bad for games (it's $10 so I didn't expect it to)

Other Thoughts: Windows System Rating gave it a 4.4 for Graphics and a 5.5 for gaming graphics. I may be able to mess with some settings to get a better score.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Quiet as needed for HTPC. At first would not work correctly; after removing the VGA connector it works fine (HDMI). Love the Low-Profile design as well. HTPC 300W total. T-UP

Cons: Does not work with VGA connector on mine (don't need VGA at this time anyway).

Other Thoughts: HTPC w/ integrated graphics was skipping audio and dropping frames. Added this piece to remedy it. Will get to testing tomorrow.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cheap card for h.264 acceleration

Pros: Very Cheap.
I have received my rebate from this.

Cons: Gets a bit hot.

Other Thoughts: I was getting tired of my HTPC not being able to handle 1080p content due to my old CPU. So I opted for this for h.264 acceleration. I can now play 1080p stuff. :)

5 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: Quiet. No fan. works as described and supports HDMI. The price after rebate is ridiculously low. I'm not looking for a top of the line gaming card here. This was purchased to support an HDMI output. I'm not asking alot - but it does work just fine.

Cons: The heat sink it tall. That helps with cooling (obviously) but it will impact your ability to use the slot above the card.

Other Thoughts: Price independent - it's fine. Price dependent - spectacular.

1 out of 5 eggsNothing but BSOD

Pros: Inexpensive. Great features on the spec sheet for a low-end video card.

Cons: I could not get this card to work on a Dell Inspiron 530 running Windows Vista 32-bit. I tried the driver that came with the card, the latest driver from MSI's website, the latest driver from nVidia's website, the nVidia driver that Microsoft Windows Update recommends, and even an Omega (third-party) driver! They all resulted in a BSOD & reboot. The card functioned with the default VGA driver, but that driver doesn't support the full resolution of my monitor (1920x1200) in addition to having no hardware acceleration. Quite disappointed in this purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
A compatibility issue is usually caused by lack of certification and qualification by the system manufacturer, therefore it is the DELL BIOS that is not compatible with our graphics card and very likely some others as well.
Unfortunately, we have no control over how DELL makes their BIOS therefore there is nothing we can do about it.
Please kindly check with DELL for a BIOS update to resolve this issue.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the product, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at usreview@msi.com and we will be more than happy to assist you, thank you.

Best Regards,

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy if you have Dell Optiplex 745, 755

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Caused blue screen (physical memory dump) with Dell Optiplex 745, 755. It was causing memory dumps and couldn't figure out why. Then I read the review of this card touching the compositors. And sure enough it does!

Other Thoughts: Wish I would have read the other reviews before buying!

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this if you own a DELL

Pros: None

Cons: Can't be installed in a Dell Optiplex 745, 755 or GX620. The heat sinks hit the capacitors on the motherboard. Though it may fit a SFF Optiplex GX280, but there might not be enough air flow to cool the GPU.
