The MSI N670GTX-PM2D2GD5/OC features the NVIDIA GPU GeForce GTX 670 based on the new Kepler architecture. The GeForce GTX 670 combines high performance with exceptional power efficiency. GPU Boost dynamically boosts clock speed for extra performance. New anti-aliasing modes eliminate jaggies without sacrificing frame rate. And NVIDIA Surround lets you game on three monitors from a single card. Core voltage adjustment is also supported by this graphics card. When used with MSI’s Afterburner overclocking software, the MSI N670GTX-PM2D2GD5/OC supports GPU overvoltage function to fully unleash the overclocking potential. The graphics card also features PCI Express 3.0 support for improved encoding schemes that provide twice the performance of current PCIe 2.0.

  • newegg MSI Afterburner overclocking utility Co-development by MSI and Rivatuner, MSI graphics card utility “Afterburner” allows you to adjust the fan speed, adjust GPU & memory clocking speeds in real time, and tune the voltage of the GPU to completely unleash its power. A real-time monitoring interface and burn-in stability test give gamers the power to control the card's overclocking status at any time. MSI Afterburner also supports wireless control by android/iOS handheld devices and built-in DX 11 effect test. Afterburner is a completely free utility which is compatible with almost all MSI graphics cards.
  • newegg MSI Solid Capacitor Graphic Cards MSI Graphics Card products utilize high quality solid capacitor. For the gamers and high-end users, this feature not only means that product has better quality components within, but also provide much stronger support while users want to engage in hard-core tuning.
  • newegg PCI Express Gen 3 Standard This advanced manufacturing technology reduces operating temperatures and improves performance, and when combined with the latest connectivity standard it can also deliver a staggering 32GB/s of bandwidth with compatible CPUs and mainboards. For gamers, this means an even better gaming experience with 40% more performance than previous generation GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards.
  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.

3 out of 5 eggsVery powerful, but not without problems.

Pros: Some performance gain over GTX 580 (Super Clocked Edition) and uses much less power (can run on a solid 500 watt power supply). Also runs quietly. Plays every game I've ever tried at highest settings at 1080p.

Performance is not discernibly different than the GTX 680. Without benchmarking applications, you cannot tell this card from the GTX 680 in gaming. What little difference there is almost lies within the margin of error.

Cons: Occasional stability problems on STOCK settings. I get a random blue screen about once every six months. It IS the card as other cards did not do this in the same system. I would recommend that if you get a working one, you NEVER overclock it. At stock it is already ridiculously powerful.

I can only imagine that if I ran it overclocked the stability problems would sky-rocket.

Cooling system is a magnet for dust and the card has to be cleaned about every two months with compressed air.

Other Thoughts: The GTX 660 Ti (or one of the later series cards) is a better way to go than the GTX 670 because of the stability problems. Ironically, it has never crashed in a demanding game but it has crashed...

...playing a DVD. Seriously bizarre.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card but load

Pros: Very good card when I built my computer and handles pretty much anything I threw at it. Ran pretty much everything at 60fps with most settings on high or better.

Cons: This card is loud.... Even with 6 case fans blowing at max I could still hear when the cards fan spun up. But sadly after nearly 3 years it just cant keep up with the newer games. Already ordered his big brother GTX 970

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card While it Lasted

Pros: Worked perfectly for over a year

Cons: Failed hard after about 15 months of steady use (albeit no reinstalls no physical trauma, etc.) Maybe it's just the state of tech these days... nothing lasts forever

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING CARD

Pros: I feel bad I forgot to review this card. I have owned this card for over two years now and it has been an awesome card.

Running stress then benching with Furmark this card does not get over 83c, this is in a 68f room.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The only time there was a problem was with the Nvida Beta drivers, some versions have no problems and some do, so this card has been great except when a bad driver is loaded.

If you have a problem and contact the person who responds to posts on newegg, they will help you.

I asked for a UEFI GOP supporting BIOS and they had one to me the next day, very helpful people at MSI.

I see the new line of MSI 700 series cards have been rated the highest, I can see why.

5 out of 5 eggs  great card

Pros: Doesn't get super hot

Great performance in games

Runs many games at ultra (see other thoughts for more details)

Cons: Almost none, drivers were a bit weird initially, but that was probably my bad

Other Thoughts: Honestly this is a great card. I've had it for nearly a year and it still kicks a**. I can max out bf4 and get at least 45fps, and it handles crysis 3 similarly (minus the AA and MSAA). It runs decently cool, though I've seen it go to 90C on one occasion, not really sure what happens, but usually when gaming it only gets to 82. I WOULD however look at the newest series of cards against this though.

1 out of 5 eggsCurrently RMAing, Fingers Crossed

Pros: Ran fast and stable while it worked

Cons: After four months my motherboard no longer detects it. I tried other cards and they work fine. Very disappointing that it only lasted four months.

Other Thoughts: I have heard a lot of bad things about MSI's RMA service. Hopefully I don't get a used broken card like others have. Will change to five stars if everything works out.

1 out of 5 eggsToo Hot and TOO LOUD

Pros: Seemed to work well but has progressively gotten hotter and louder at full load. Added an intake fan over the card recently - already have two exhaust fans - no improvement. Unbearable noise while playing the current release games. No pros today!

Cons: Full throttle GPU runs at 105 C with the fan at the max of 80%. Unable to run current games.

Other Thoughts: Sounds like an RMA with MSI is a big gamble - not sure who's RMA card I'll get back.
