Step up to the MSI N670 PE 2GD5/OC VGA card for a new level of gaming experience with amazing visual brilliance and environmental interaction in the blockbuster titles. Based on the graphics-optimized 28nm Kepler architecture, the GeForce GTX 670 packs powerful SMX shaders and abundant amount of memory, which deliver reality-redefining performance to render a smooth, true-to-life imagery in the FPS, RTS, MMORPG and RACING games. The GPU Boost technology extracts more performance by dynamically increasing the clock speed when it's needed most.

More powerful than reference board, this new GTX 670 Power Edition is based on the MSI Power Edition architecture which incorporates Triple Overvoltage, a strengthened PWM enabling an impressive 22.5% boost in overclocking potential compared to the standard design. The new Twin Frozr IV Thermal Design keeps the card cool and MSI's exclusive Dust Removal technology ensures that the cooling module remains free of dust for optimal cooling performance. In addition, Propeller Blade technology offers 20% more air flow than conventional fans, effectively reducing temperatures by up to 20°C and noise levels by 11.7dB. The MSI GTX 670 Power Edition uses Military Class III components that give overclockers a level of quality and stability they can count on. The power, cooling, and other components of the MSI GTX 670 Power Edition incorporate more functions and technologies than the reference board, making it the choice of those looking for superior overclocking performance.

  • newegg MSI Power Edition Architecture Boosts Overclocking Potential by 22.5% The MSI GTX 670 Power Edition graphics card is based on the MSI Power Edition architecture: Afterburner's Triple Overvoltage allows the GPU, Memory and PLL(Aux) voltages to be adjusted. The Enhanced PWM design provides 25% more current than the reference design to ensure high stability during overclocking.
  • newegg Twin Frozr IV: 20°C Cooler and 11.7dB Quieter than Reference Board The MSI GTX 670 Power Edition is equipped with MSI's latest Twin Frozr IV Thermal Design. MSI's exclusive Dust Removal technology automatically reverses the fans at startup to prevent dust build-up and optimize the cooling module's ability to dissipate heat. Exclusive Propeller Blade technology provides 20% more air flow over conventional fans and increases the effective cooling area. When combined with dual 8 cm temperature-controlled fans, SuperPipe technology, and a nickel-plated copper base, temperatures are effectively reduced by up to 20°C and noise by 11.7dB!
  • newegg Military Class III Components Guarantees High Quality and Stability MSI Military Class III components have been independently tested to meet many of the strict requirements specified by the MIL-STD-810G standard in order to guarantee high quality and stability. Military Class III components used on the MSI GTX 670 Power Edition include Tantalum Core Hi-c CAP, 30% more powerful SFC, and Solid CAP with up to 10 years of service life. This choice of materials reflects MSI's firm commitment to delivering trustworthy and dependable products to its customers.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: This baby runs cool. I put a custom fan curve on and around 58% fan speed the temps max at 57C, normally it doesn't go above 55C though.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After research and my own testing I found that these keplar chips have a fast diminishing return point. I use Afterburner with no Voltage increase (actually lowers performance) with Power Limit at 114% just in case but I've never seen it go above 105%.
I don't remember the exact settings for reaching the max stable OC but I got a 10% performance increase which was 4fps in Unigine Heaven. I think it was +80 Core Clock and +535? Memory Clock.
I cut these values in half to see what happened so +40 and +250 and I got + 3fps. That's a lot of extra OC for that 1fps so I settled at + 50 Core and +350 Memory.
What that turns into is is like 1254mhz Core and 6,700mhz Memory. The normal max for these are around 1350 Core and 7000 Memory

5 out of 5 eggsNum num num

Pros: Great Improvement increase over my GTX 560ti.
Cranked through Crysis 3 this weekend with all the eye candy on ranging between 29-50 fps.

Cons: Slightly louder than my old MSI Twin Frozr 560ti...but nothing to whine about. Its possible I don't notice it because my case is basically bullet-proof...but still.

Other Thoughts: Its a great card, but the 700 series just came out for like $50 more...so you should probably suck it up and get one of those.

5 out of 5 eggsPerformances?

Pros: Gets mostly good performances out of most games, It also has the twin frozr's which allow the card to run cooler for the most part. The card itself also has a very sleek look to it... too bad you don't get to see the faceplate as often.

Cons: I paid an extra 30$ for this card than I could have on a reference design, and the card is not as overclockable as advertised. My TDP is literally locked at 114%, meaning I can only gain 14% more performances. The other issue is that I've started having Microstutter issues in some games such BF3, more particularly on a few maps. I've even gotten artifacting, I don't understand how this is being caused as the card has never overheated or been overclocked (because it isn't overclockable).

Other Thoughts: The card isn't terrible by any means, my particular card just doesn't perform or overclock as well as advertised for $30 more.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card

Pros: Absolutely fantastic GPU. Out of the box the core clock boosts to 1241 MHz. Runs quiet and cool - my temps rarely exceed 60c under load.

Using the 2.2.3 version of Afterburner I'ved OC'ed to 1350 MHz with no problems. (Which is pretty overkill - I've been leaving it on stock settings lately).

I run dual monitors and so far I haven't had any games drop below 60fps on 1080p/max settings (I use adaptive vsync most of the time).

I also edit/animate with CS6 software and the performance bump from GPU acceleration is great.

Cons: Heavy card. Sags in the PCIE slot.

Other Thoughts: The dust cleaning feature is kind of neat. It runs for about 30 seconds on boot and is definitely audible. Pretty much a non-issue considering that's the only time I ever hear the card.

5 out of 5 eggsExpanding on previous review

Pros: Realized I left some information out of my previous review from a week or so back that could be important to some people looking to buy. See other thoughts.

Cons: See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: This card DOES fit inside of a Rosewill Challenger case, with just a bit to spare. Now, the fans. On default settings, the fans remain quiet all the time, and you will never hear them. However, if you edit the fan curve so that they reach 70% or higher, they will get quite loud. On the card that I got, one of the fans is constantly rattling, but this doesn't bother me because I'm always wearing noise blocking headphones. It probably ticks off everyone else in my house though. The card sags quite a bit while inside the case as well. Oh, and that dust removal technology that MSI boasts about DOES actually work. After cleaning out my case 2 months after buying this card, the card wasn't dusty.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card when it works properly.

Pros: Runs any game you throw at it pretty well.

The design of the card is really nice.

Great price.

Cons: I can't overclock the thing at all.

To play any high demanding game, I actually have to UNDERCLOCK this card down -13 mhz on the core or else the game being played will crash at any random time starting from about 3 minutes in.

Extremely shady card when it comes to performance. I RMA'd the thing and was sent back a brand new card and the result was the same. I'm just not having any luck at all.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to love this card and I'm sure it is loved by many people for its flawless performance, but that just wasn't the case with me. I have lost my trust with MSI, and I will be getting my money back for this card immediately and going with a different branded card.

If you want to not recommend this review then whatever, I'm just stating the cold hard facts with my experience of this card.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
The PE version has already been pushed to the limit of what the GPU can handle that's why you can't push it anymore.
If you want a better, more overclockable GPU then please look for the Lightning series.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Have owned many cards in my years of computer gaming. This is one of the best cards. Cheaper than a GTX 680, quieter than most cards, sips power and plays almost any game at ultra settings.

Cons: Still pricey for most people, not much included besides the card itself.

Other Thoughts: I have built many computers in the past 10 years. All were for gaming. I have owned cards like ATI X800, Nvidia 7900, 8800, ATI 5870 and yes, even an EVGA 680 sig 2 card. This card performs just as well and as quietly as the EVGA sig 2 card I had. Its a great card, I do prefer EVGA's warranty, but this card is clocked fast and ready to eat up the games. Have owned for 6 months now and no issues at all.

5 out of 5 eggsN670 PE 2GD5/OC

Pros: fast stable smooth

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Got this card the first week it came out payed 450 for it. it boosts to 1425 with out a hitch, I just order another for Sli, it seem that MSI Afterburner has a lot to do with how it overclocks, some version i can only 50mhz with version 2.2.3 gives me 200mhz no problem. i will probably flash the new card to the older Bois if I can't get to 200mhz ..hope that helps

5 out of 5 eggsYes, yes indeed.

Pros: I bought this card a month or two ago, and I am very, very pleased with it. At stock settings, it overclocks itself to 1215 MHz and stays under 65 degrees Celsius under most conditions. Most people would be fine with 65, but I prefer my cards to stay a little cooler, so I've edited the fan curve to keep it below 60 at all times. I haven't tweaked the card at all, save for the fan curve, and it still screams in games. This card laughs at Skyrim, caps at 60fps constant with a ludicrous number of 2K resolution texture packs installed along with AO and an ENB for better shadows. Planetside 2 runs very well with the .ini file edited for ultra settings, 50-60 at most times, 30+ in large firefights. Any other game I play caps at 60 with no problems. I've had no problems with the drivers, Afterburner is an excellent utility, but I can't speak on the over voltage, I haven't tried it as I see no need to. I run dual monitors, one for gaming and one for, well, monitoring, and this card still runs perfectly.

Cons: HAH! No.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a Radeon 7770, and the difference is huge. Current specs:
i5-2500
8 GB RAM
WD 500GB 7200RPM Caviar Blue
generic 600 watt PSU
