5 out of 5 eggsNot bad for my first GPU

Pros: For a budget build, this was great. Parts and all including this GPU, I hit a little over $300 for decent performance and amazing graphics

Cons: Fan on the card takes up two spaces, but that was expected... its my bad planning on the motherboard I can use the slot under it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but slightly trumped by Sapphire

Pros: Good price/performance ratio at time of buying ($80 after rebate, Q1 2014). Modestly cheaper than Sapphire or EVGA. Both OpenCL and gaming graphics perform well.
Slightly better/luckier in scrypt cryptocurrency mining than Sapphire 100358L (not particularly diagnostic of performance).

Cons: Louder fan than Sapphire equivalent.
Slightly less gaming performance than Sapphire.
Runs 1-3C hotter than Sapphire during extended gaming.
VRAM is slightly slower/lower overclock available than Sapphire (I cannot remember the speeds/timings off the top of my head; they were configurable via OpenCL drivers).

Other Thoughts: I got this device to add to my cryptocurrency mining efforts and crossfire with my Sapphire 100358L for gaming.

I have noticed an inconsistent ~1-2% decrease in OpenCL mining performance (in MHashes/s) with CFX enabled. When I added the card, my mining share success rate roughly doubled, as expected. After optimizing my settings, I ended up with almost identical MHash/s rates on the GPUs.

The card by itself performs maybe 2-4% poorer than the Sapphire in gaming (I do not have the benchmarks off the top of my head). In CFX mode, I get a 70-75% increase in graphics performance (representative benchmark below).

Tomb Raider Benchmark
FPS min/max/ave
CF disabled: 20.1/41.5/30.5
CF enabled: 35.0/62.1/52.9
Gain (%): 74.1/49.6/73.4

Other game benchmarks findings were consistent with the above.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price Performance Point

Pros: Plays things like Left4Dead, Dead Island, Skyrim, Witcher 2 & 3 and the like with a lot of the eye candy turned on. Low power draw and quiet operation.

Cons: wasn't free.

Other Thoughts: Bought this about 10 months ago to run an HTPC that's hooked up to my tv. I wanted to do some gaming too. For a bargain basement price, this card has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it using moderate- to high-quality settings. Haven't fiddled around with any over-clocking so I can't speak to that. No regrets, would do it all over again.

4 out of 5 eggsGood graphic card

Pros: Small form card, decent performance in gaming, low power and heat, so it's very good in a small form factor box. Good price and quality product.

Cons: You can find something with more performance, with the same size and power consumption.

Other Thoughts: I used it for almost a year and I was happy.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Installed in a snap, the drivers installed without a problem. Plays all the games I want it to at 60 fps on medium to high settings with my build. Temperatures during heavy use rarely exceed 40 degrees Celsius, about 10 degrees cooler than the card it replaced.

Cons: After I installed the card I started getting blue screens after around 5 hours of heavy gaming. The crashes are more infrequent currently, but I don't know if the card is causing the crashes.

Other Thoughts: I'm not regretting getting this card, it does everything I ask of it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat graphics card value for the money, bad rebate

Pros: great value for money, quiet cooling fan, fan cover has open sides making it less likely to get clogged with dust and much easier to clean out, rear heat exhaust vent, smaller than the card it replaced (ATI Radeon 3870 HD).

A rebate was offered when I purchased the card but, I would have bought the card without the rebate offer because it was a good deal.

Cons: Ordering from NewEgg has always been great over the years and this time was no exception. MSI offered a $10 rebate with purchase which I applied for. I filled out all of the paperwork and sent it in. They refuse to give me the rebate on account that the invoice received from them does not have the word "invoice" printed on it. This sounds like a load of nonsense to me. MSI rejects the rebate applications and only allow you to resubmit once.

I don't blame NewEgg. I blame MSI.

I see that MSI is still offering the rebate. I didn't know if NewEgg knew that this was going on and I wanted you to know. I care about NewEgg, I love your customer service and the value your website offers and I don't want your reputation to be fouled by MSI.

Other Thoughts: After four months of regular operation, this card is working beautifully without any problems. From web surfing to graphics intensive computer games this card handles the workload effortlessly. I love this card! Thank you NewEgg!

4 out of 5 eggsOnly took 6 mos for the rebate!

Pros: Card has worked flawlessly through the summer heat, running at 99% - 100% CPU for literally 23h50m a day; using it to mine cryptocurrencies. It's still running just fine - could not be happier with its performance.

Cons: If you have a job that pays more than 5 dollars an hour, your time is better spent working at that job than trying to track down your rebate. I can remember trying to cancel my internet account in the late 90's and having to call my credit card company to stop payments to them in order to cancel the service. It seems that all those customer service reps and management opened a rebate company and MSI is using them to process your mail in rebate. I would attribute it to simple incompetence, however, that would imply that there was no intended malice. It is impossible for them to be so terrible at their core competency and stay in business, so part of their business plan must be to run you through so many hoops that you just give up and surrender the rebate. If there is a MIR offer on this card, do not take that into account for the price of the card. Just plan on paying the retail price and save yourself the sudden onset apoplexy that accompanies trying to work with the rebate company. The card, however, is fantastic. And Newegg, as always, beat their projected delivery date and exceeded my expectations.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks decently, rebate is awful

Pros: The card functions well for the price. I bought it for $89.99, and was eligible for a $20 rebate, which I was not able to utilize due to incredibly constrictive rebate policy (all items postmarked within 15 days of PURCHASE)

Cons: The rebate allows you no time for error. Fifteen days from the date of purchase, as opposed to the receipt of the item, including weekend days, is just garbage. Minus two eggs for that.
