Based on the NVIDIA's latest 28nm Kepler architecture, the MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC video card is built around 960 CUDA cores and 2GB/192-bit GDDR5 memory, and features 1098MHz Boost Clock - 65MHz high than reference to deliver more juice for smoother, more responsive gameplay. It supports the full range of GTX 600 series technologies including GPU Boost, Adaptive Vsync, PhysX, 3D Vision, and triple-display 3D surround gaming with a 4th accessory display to bring you to a new era of entertainment.

The new card boasts the popular Twin Frozr III cooling design with dual 8cm fans with Propeller Blade technology, nickel-plated copper base, and Superpipe technology. The MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr GPU temperature runs 19? lower than the reference board and noise is reduced by 12.9dB to deliver the best thermal and noise performance. All solid capacitors ensure 10 years ultra long lifetime, lower temperature and higher efficiency and the aluminum core prevents explosion under extreme condition. The GTX 660 Twin Frozr also supports the Afterburner overclocking utility, making it simple to adjust the graphic card's power and timing for even more performance. With support for NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround and a maximum of 4 display outputs on a single card, users will be able to enjoy the ultimate in gaming and multi-tasking.

  • newegg Twin Frozr III Runs 19? Cooler and 12.9dB Softer than the Reference The MSI Twin Frozr III cooling design has continued to win the praise of the industry media. The exclusive Propeller Blade technology features unique air channels on the fan edges to boost cooling performance by increasing the cooling area and providing 20% more air flow compared to conventional fans. When the MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr graphics card has a full load, the GPU temperature is 19? lower than the reference board and fan noise is 12.9dB softer. The combination of lower temperatures and reduced noise proves once again that MSI products deliver the best user experience!
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg Single Card 3D Vision Surround Support Apart from supporting the latest DirectX 11 technology, MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr can use 3D Vision Surround technology to set up a 3-display 3D surround environment with just one graphics card. With high-quality 3D displays and 3D glasses, this allows gamers to enjoy the amazing visuals in 3D games and movies. Up to 4 display outputs are supported on one single card, allowing gamers to take full advantage of multiple displays and multi-tasking while gaming.
  • newegg MSI Solid Capacitor Graphic Card MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC video card utilities high quality solid capacitors. For the gamers and high-end users, this feature not only means that product has better quality components within, but also provide much stronger support while users want to engage in hard-core tuning.
  • newegg Support for MSI's Exclusive Afterburner Overclocking Utility The MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr graphics card supports NVIDIA GPU Boost technology to achieve optimal gaming performance through dynamic management of operating frequency. When used in conjunction with MSI's exclusive Afterburner overclocking utility, gamers can customize the power and timing to maximize the overclocking potential. Afterburner also supports free Predator video capture, remote monitoring of desktop graphics card from smart phones, and one-touch burn-in and special effects testing with Kombustor, making it an indispensable graphics card overclocking utility for enthusiasts.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad, lil' expensive.

Pros: Works well, I got this because it had the highest review average for my price range and because I heard 660's were a good model. Together with my 4790k, runs almost all my favorite games in 1920x1080 at a constant minimum 60 framerate at the highest settings. (I have a 144hz gaming monitor, and there are very few games that a single one of these cannot handle in 1080p @ 144hz, with a few settings disabled maybe in some cases.)

Cons: A little bit expensive. If I thought a bit more about my purchase, I may have gotten a 760 instead, but I trusted the constant 5-star reviews this one was getting and have no regrets beyond the price tag and have been gaming very happily so far without having to worry about overclocking.

Other Thoughts: Great design, IMHO. Not sure if I'd get 2 for SLI though, might as well get a single 9XX and save up for a later second I think in that scenario, but a single one definitely does wonders.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: I bought this on sale and now i wish i would have bought a second one to sli it with cause it is a beast for what you pay for it i simply cannot kill it and it never gets hot i mean never i max out every game with this card and try to push it to the limits but it keeps going, if i get a fps lag at all i over clock it and watch the temps it just does get hot, but of course i have a well vented case so that it can get plenty of air4

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsGood card for 1080p gaming in SLI

Pros: Specs of my machine :

Monitor : Samsung SyncMaster PX2370 1920x1080
Case : Corsair 350D
CPU : Intel Core i5 4670k @ 4.4GHz
Cooler : Enermax ETS-N30-TAA
Motherboard : MSI Z87M Gaming
RAM : Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 8GB kit
GPU : MSI GTX 660 TF OC 2GB in SLI
HDD : SSHD Seagate 2TB
PSU : Corsair TX 650

I run Far Cry 3 maxed at 45-60FPS. Far Cry 4 is a little hard than FC3 to run so I stay maxed but with AA x2. Temps of GPU 1 stay arround 75c and the GPU2 at 60c with big games (both card goes arround at 45-50c with Diablo 3 and StarCraft II). It's a little lourd when I play FC3, Metro 2033 but with headset it's ok.

Cons: Had to RMA a card due to a DOA (artifact when I plugged my monitor on the second card and I realized that after 2 month).

Other Thoughts: I recommand this card for a 1000$ gaming machine. Run games smooth at medium 1920x1080 with only one GTX 660

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works
will meet system requirements for everything i do on the computer for a long time

Cons: competes for physical space with the part of the case it fits into on the back. i wouldn't know if the bulky bit protruding from the card was essential or not but even though it doesnt clamp in perfectly it's still held in and supported all the same so im not worried

1 out of 5 eggsLasted about a week

Pros: The refurbished card works great ...

Cons: Lasted a week without intense use or overclocking (I made a terrible mistake and threw the box away).
Paid for a new card, to send to MSI for a reburb.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy, if you do save the box. Incorporate the cost of sending the card back to MSI when buying.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2).
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.
4. If you require RMA, we will need the serial number. Serial number are located on the original box or on the physical box itself. (You "Do Not" require to have the box to RMA).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card's heatsink is massive. I like the heavy/solid feeling construction. It's a beast. Great performance, and looking forward to playing with nvidia's shadowplay. Has SLI support, although I don't plan on taking advantage of it.

Cons: Nothing as far as I can tell.

Other Thoughts: It's a thick card, and takes up two of the case's expansion bay slot things.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price

Pros: -Great looking card overall

-More than acceptable performance for it's price range

-Has handled absolutely everything I've thrown at it greatly, but there is of course that last shred of performance to be desired, as this isn't top of the line, but when I picked it up it was definitely a contender near the top.

-I'm a big fan of the dual fan design, and this card looks fantastic in my system

-Quiet enough, it makes sound under load about as much as it does when it isn't, I honestly have never needed to concern myself with how it's running.
Ran multiple 8hr. stress tests when I first slapped my system together, and it performed very well.

-avg. temps under heavy load for extended periods of time are around 70*, short periods of time it rarely exceeds 67*, idle temps/non-gaming are in the range of 40*-50* depending on the day and temp of my place.

-Was pleased to find that FarCry 3 ran @ 45-60 fps smoothly on high+ultra @1080p, I did not expect that great of performance, but I am almost completely out of the loop concerning GPU's at this point.

Overall if you're looking for a VERY decent single card solution, this is a good one to take a look at. The cooler on this thing is great, very quiet.

Performance is very good, no complaints there but for screen snipers/ uber enthusiasts, you'll obviously want to look higher.

Cons: No cons really...

Although one thing to mention is the heatpipe on the side can get RIDICULOUSLY hot, despite the card temps reading massive increments cooler. I don't know how these sinks work, but I assume that's why the pipe is there and that it's keeping that heat away from the card itself. Just a heads up though, if you're ever testing + swapping cards in and out, you'll want to give this one an extra bit more time before trying to grab it, or just watch out for the pipe.

Other Thoughts: -Not a con, but worth mentioning.

Again, I am out of the GPU loop,
but this card is very heavy. Heavy enough where I wish I had a support of some kind, as it does *ever so slightly* pull down on my motherboard.

The board can handle it, but I still don't like thinking about the constant bit of strain on my board and the slot this card is hanging out of.

However, not a complaint, because I love the durable and cold-steel feel of this card, was actually very chilly when I unpackaged it, took that as a sign of good design/cooling, turned out to be true in my case.

I don't know how these sinks work, but I assume that's why the pipe is there and that it's keeping that heat away from the card itself. Just a heads up if you're ever swapping cards for test runs etc, leave this one extra time for that pipe to dissipate more heat, it stays hot a while and REALLY collects that heat up.

3 out of 5 eggsA little noisy and warm.

Pros: Still runs after a year. All games I play on high settings. Skyrim-Fallout

Cons: Large open case, but one each in and out 120 + excellent CPU cooling wasn't enough.
Had to add a side 120 case fan blowing on it to keep from overheating and shutting down after 2 hours. Still gets hot and glitchy. Burn your finger heatpipe.

The case air itself is not warm and the cooling for the CPU is excellent. The card is the generator of the heat and a 120 fan + holes for a second 120 fan is barely keeping up with it.

Other Thoughts: Is a case full of fans now necessary for a single mid-range card? My 9800gt had no such problems. It used a single blower exhaust cooler and never had a problem...without a personalized case fan and in a case that was less open.
