  • newegg MSI Power Edition Architecture Increases Overclocking Potential by up to 27% MSI's GTX 650 Power Edition is based on the MSI Power Edition architecture which includes two main features: the Triple Overvoltage and Enhanced PWM Design. Afterburner's Triple Overvoltage function enables users to adjust GPU/Memory/PLL voltages to completely liberate the graphic cards capacity, increasing overclockability by up to 27%. The new pwm design strengthens power capability 33% more than the reference board maintaining stability during overclocking.
  • newegg Exclusive TransThermal Cooling Design to Effectively Reduce Temperature and Noise MSI GTX 650 Power Edition features the industry-leading TransThermal cooling design that allows gamers to tailor the fan setup to the outside environment. Double Airflow Mode uses a special mechanical design for attaching the fan to the existing heat sink module and increasing airflow to effectively reduce the GPU temperature. The external fan can also be placed next to the existing module in the Dual Fan Mode. The increased coverage improves cooling for the power supply module and components. The GTX 650 Power Edition also comes with MSI’s exclusive Dust Removal technology. The fan automatically runs in the reverse direction at startup every time to remove dust and optimize cooling performance. The Propeller Blade technology increases airflow by 20% compared to conventional fans and also expands the cooling area. Effective temperature can be reduced by up to 9°C and noise by 16.8dB as well!

  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent gaming card

Pros: Works with my Asus motherboard and integrated graphics to run both Starcraft and Skyrim on ultra settings. Great card for the price if you're only looking to run one card.

Cons: Not SLI compatible. Wish I had checked when I bought it. I won't be able to simply add on a second card, but on the other hand, I won't need to for quite some time.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this for anyone but the most GPU intensive gamers.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty great

Pros: Adjustable fans are really nice. Using dual fan mode. I have a micro ATX case and still got it to fit even with a little wiggling around. Tested with several games and it runs them all perfectly.
Civilization V- DX9 top settings 60fps
Fallout New Vegas- top settings 60FPS
Medival Total War 2- Usually 60 FPS, when moving through well lit areas sometimes drops down to around 54FPS but usually no lower.
Assassins Creed III- From the little I played it, with top settings it ran fine. I don't think it held quite 60 FPS constantly but it hardly dropped. Never close to 30 FPS.
Farcry 3- Could not do Ultra settins and make 30 FPS. On High it does about 30 FPS constant. Wish it had done a bit better here.
Came with free game.

Cons: Works wonderful so none.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand why it has so much trouble with some parts of games, but I am not so bothered by it. It is expensive, but there are much bigger cards out there. It does really well for where it is at.
I question why it has a 6-Pin power connector when the thing only pulls 64 volts, and the PCI-E can give it 75.
Wish it had SLI compatability, or even more I wish it just had a bigger bit connection to the RAM. Thinking of this thing with a 256-bit interface, I know it could fly way past a few cards.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: High Overclockability with Voltage Adjustment, etc... Runs very cool at an average of 34C, 21C idle with OC. Comes with power adaptor and VGA adaptor. This card should easily run most new games on highest settings easily. Great card for the money!

Cons: Not necessarily a con but this card is large and takes 2 slots so make sure you have the space...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Quite cooling system and easy to install. I like the way how you can add another fan so props to msi.

Cons: Nothing yet

Other Thoughts: I was dumb and didn't realize that it ran on 500 watt power supply, so I had to go get another one... :P

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: -Great and I mean GREAT cooling. Idles at 19c, and max temps don't go past 40c

-You get a second fan to add on, which I did and you have different options for how to use the fan

-The power consumption on the keplar video card is crazy. It uses around 60% maybe less power then a gtx 550 ti and performs better

Cons: really can't think of any

Other Thoughts: This is a great card. Reviews call this a budget card, but you can literally play any new game at mediumish settings. That to me is deffinetly worth the price for this amazing card.

5 out of 5 eggsAll I need...

Pros: + Very quiet, even with the 2nd fan attached
+ Runs cool; rarely goes above 40*C at max load
+ Solid performance
+ Good value

Cons: None to mention at this time - if you do your research ahead of time, no one should have any cons unless their card croaks! :-)

Other Thoughts: Got mine from another online retailer with a gift card.
Scores: 7.4 on WEI, 19123 on 3DMark06 and P3210 on 3DMark11 at stock settings with a Core i5-2500K @ 4.3GHz.
This is a perfect card if you mainly play last-gen games (I only play Flight Sim X, which is more CPU-intensive than GPU-intensive, so this card is perfect -- all settings at ultra at a fixed 30FPS). I can also see this working as a great HTPC option due to the near-silent operation and low temps. I previously had a GTX 560Ti, which was overkill, so I sold it and made some $$$ and got this. I'm very happy with the purchase.

PS: for the first reviewer, you can choose not to install the nVidia live update during driver install. There are a series of option boxes, including one for the nVidia update feature; just uncheck that box the next time you update your driver (I'd also check the box for a clean install)...

5 out of 5 eggsGood and quite

Pros: Quiet. I'm using single fan mode.
The automatic dust removal from the fan running in reverse at startup is nice.
Good performance.
2nd fan is provided and an option to use if desired.
Scores 7.4 (currently) on Windows Experience Index for Graphics and Gaming graphics.

Cons: The Live Update software is a little annoying at startup on Windows 7 64-bit systems. Since it runs as Administrator and starts its self at system boot. Given the Windows 7 default settings prompt the user when a program wants to run as Administrator. This creates an extra step during PC startup of allowing the program to run. I ended up going into "msconfig" and disabling Live Update from running at startup. I'll just run it when I desire manually. The program does not offer any settings option to stop it from running at startup. So this could be a real headache for someone not familiar with disabling programs from startup via msconfig, if you don't like it running at startup. And the Live Update software does not catch Nvidia driver updates as quickly as the Nvidia software that has its own update checker and notifies you. So the Live Update software is something I cannot find a real need for at this time. As anyone using Nvidia products knows, the Nvidia update checker works good. And the install disk installs both this Live Update program and the Nvidia software too. The Live Update program from MSI ends up being bloatware.

Other Thoughts: Despite the one Con, I highly recommend this card. I output via DVI to 2 LCD monitors and it works great.
