Fast and affordable, the MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC graphics card  with GeForce GTX 650 GPU provides the prefect entry point to DirectX 11 and 1080p HD gaming. The MSI Afterburner overclocking utility allows you to adjust the GPU voltage of the graphics card to fully unleash its potential. It also features All Solid Capacitors to extend service life and ensure durability.

  • newegg Afterburner With Afterburner overclocking utility, the MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC enables all MSI graphics cards users to boost performance and to monitor all kinds of critical information in real-time. Afterburner is a completely free utility which is compatible with almost all MSI graphics cards.
  • newegg All Solid Capacitors The MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC graphics card utilizes high quality solid capacitor for lower temperature, higher efficiency and up to 10 years ultra-long lifetime (under full load). The aluminum core eliminates the risk of explosion. For the gamers and high-end users, this feature not only means that product has better quality components within, but also provide much stronger support while users want to engage in hard-core tuning.
  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.
  • newegg TXAA AntiAliasing Antialiasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new antialiasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.

4 out of 5 eggsBest in its price range

Pros: Simple to install, wasn't too pricey for its model, and gave me a noticeable increase in fps. I liked the overclocking program it came with, I have never overclocked before and it made it quite straightforward. Also, I have a 300W PSU and it ran the fan just fine.

Cons: Wasn't quite the fps increase I was looking for (5-10 increase) from my geforce 9500.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great card, would definitely recommend to a friend.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
The fps increase should be a lot more from 9500, can you tell us about your processor and amount of system RAM to usreview@msi.com?

4 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: I discovered,,after installing it that it required a separate power supply. Easily taken care of. Since installed and software loaded, this video card worked beyond my needs. I'm not much of a overclocker but this card came with overclocking software. Learned quite a bit about this card. The difference was observed as night and day.

Cons: I noticed one issue it had that really didn't affect me. It is not configured nor modified for SLI. I would only consider applying two cards only IF it would be needed. The game I frequent would be Battlefield 3. The card is set at maximum levels and it plays it NO PROBLEM.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed before 90 days

Pros: Has HDMI, DVI and SUB monitor outputs. Performed well with Mythbuntu and Mythtv / Comcast for HD and SD recording and playback. Sound thru HDMI worked great with linux.

Cons: Unfortunately the outputs died after warranty and before 90 days. Cooling was not an issue - fan was operable. However, No output from back ports. I have alot of respect for MSI and hope this was an isolated incident. Replaced with gigabyte card with same chipset. Cross my fingers :)

Other Thoughts: I wish video card manufactures would put the components (including heatsink) on other side of board. When video cards are installed in a tower the fan and heatsink always face down. When it did work it did a very good job with sound and video running mythbuntu 12.04. and Mythtv ver.26

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent gamer budget card

Pros: - Price
- Bang for your buck
- Can run a fair amount of mainstream games (LoL, CoD MW3. GTAiV, Left For Dead 2, etc.) on High to Ultra settings.
- Size! (This things tiny, but don't let it's size fool you)
- Reliability

Cons: - No Cross-Fire support.
- Doesn't make you a mug of coffee.

Other Thoughts: This card has made quite an impression on me; I'm an entrepreneur and am using this exact card in my own rig (I'm a gamer on a budget!) as well as multiple "Budget" gaming builds and have had much success in overclocking the unit. One of my customer couldn't believe the computer equipped with this card and a 965 Deneb was running CoDMW3 on ULTRA settings while maintaining 60FPS! This little guy holds his own; for $100 and less, you won't find a better card, I've done my share of homework (not to mention the experience I have). As a student currently enrolled at Florida International University majoring in I.T., I tip my hat to this card (great job MSI, built a very solid card for an awesome price!).

Below is a link to a video I took using FRAPS to capture CoDMW3 game-play (I show all the video settings in the beginning if you don't believe me!)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Great price after rebate ($70-80) plus freebies
Easily overclocks core to 1,150 MZ
Benchmarks better than GTX 650 Ti
Works great on Flight Sim X at max settings
Supports 3 displays

Cons: A 2 Gig version should be available for $10-20 more, but its not.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a gamer but was looking for a reasonably priced card for everyday use and Flight Sim. With a fast core, GDDR5 memory and support for multiple displays, its the best value in the market.

2 out of 5 eggsRebate Process Rip off

Pros: Good start up card, but get a real video card.

Cons: No SLI plug on card

Other Thoughts: Just got rebate server to reply my application. Two days to late to post mark. Not funny! Rebates are so time consuming that the user earns $2.00 and hour office work paid by their own rebate.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

This card does not have SLI support thus why no SLI plug is present.

1 out of 5 eggs5 Month update

Pros: Price

Cons: 5 month update, filled out form online at MSI, still no replacement fan after 5 months, now it gets a 1 egg. The glued fan still works fine and is just as quite as my other fans in my case but I figured I would have received a new fan by now.

Old Review:

Pros: Cost was where I wanted it to be.

Cons: The clip-on fan came with 3 broken blades . I didn't give it the once over like i normally do before installing any upgrade. Plugged it in it sounded really bad. took it out and looked at what was making the noise, 3 missing fan blades. I looked in the box and found the missing blades. I sold my old video card to a friend so it was ether plug in some old PCI video card I got 10 years ago and wait for a replacement fan or glue the fan bits. Being someone who doesn't like to wait I choose glue. I don't know how the fan is supposed to sound normally since it was busted when i got it but after gluing the fan blades on, it makes a little noise but nothing more then all the other fans in my case make.

while most people would give consider this a DOA and give it 1 egg I made lemons into lemon-aid and I'm giving this 2 eggs. Lets see how it is going to be with MSI on getting a replacement fan. If its EZ I will bump up a egg or two (if i can do that, IDK if you can change a rating) If its hard, it goes down to 1

Other Thoughts: DON'T EXPECT HELP FROM MSI, IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.
