ADVANCED TWIN FROZR IV

Advanced Twin Frozr IV

MSI's Twin Frozr has been the industry defining graphics card cooler. The first Twin Frozr kicked off the dual-fan trend and today MSI stays true to its dual-fan, dual-slot design where others offer less effective means.

Twin Frozr coolers also use a large Aluminium-fin grid array that provides a huge amount of surface area for cooling. Heat from the GPU is transferred to the fin grid array by virtue of heat pipes with MSI's special SuperPipe technology. SuperPipes transfer heat twice as fast as regular heat pipes enabling an MSI Gaming graphics card to stay cooler than the competition.

Futhermore, MSI provides all new Airflow Control technology on the Twin Frozr. This new thermal tech leads air to the heat pipe by a special deflector on the heatsink, so it can deflect more airflow to heat pipes directly. In addition, this exclusive heatsink design increases the area of heatsink to enhance the efficiency of dissipation.

MILITARY CLASS COMPONENT

Military Class Components

One of the deciding factors in performance is the quality of the components used. That is why MSI only uses MIL-STD-810G certified components for its Gaming cards because only these components have proven to be able to withstand the torturous circumstances of extreme gaming and overclocking.

Solid Caps

With their aluminum core design, Solid CAP's have been a staple in high-end mainboard designs and provides lower Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) as well as an over-10-year lifespan.

SOLID CAP

Hi-C Cap

A Hi-c Cap is a very small but super-efficient capacitor. Besides ensuring enough spacing around a CPU socket to install large coolers, it also allows for 93% energy efficiency. Thanks to Hi-c CAP's MSI mainboards are the most energy efficient in the market.

Hi-C CAP

New Super Ferrite Chokes

New Super Ferrite Chokes use a Ferrite core that is super-permeable. This allows the Super Ferrite Chokes to run at about 100 degrees Farenheit (35 degrees Celsius) cooler, have a 30% higher current capacity, a 20% improvement in power efficiency, and offer better overclocking power stability.

Pros: When it was working, it ran things amazingly for the price.

Cons: None of the drivers past the 13.6 ones that came on the installation CD worked for this card. I tried every possible solution under the sun and couldn't get any progress. to top things off, I RMA'd the card back and apparently it did not have a serial number on it. So I was sent a broken, defective card with no serial number and suffered a total loss on it because of it. I definitely won't ever be buying AMD again.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to install, runs sniper elite 3 and hitman and all that in 1080p
Comes with easy to use Gaming boost software for computer illiterate people.

Cons: Runs hot, uses a lot of power.
Catalyst software Is just blah. They need to make something like Gforce experience.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money

Pros: This is a great price for a great mid tier card! I have had this card for a year and have no complaints about it. It runs relatively cool so I don't have to worry about it blowing up! MSI really knows how to cool their cards. There is also a lot of power in this card for the price they ask. Best budget card on the market by far!

Cons: I can't think of any cons!

5 out of 5 eggsExactly What I Needed

Pros: This card performs well in all gaming and rendering applications.
It is cool, Quiet and amazingly good even when not overclocked.

Cons: This card is a rebranded 7850 I think, so that means I can't have any of AMD's newest technologies such as TrueAudio or things of that nature.
Not a 295x2 or a 290x?

Other Thoughts: This is a great budget graphics card. I paired this with an FX-6300 for the ultimate budget gaming machine

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Video Card!!!!

Pros: This is an amazing video card!!! I previously had an ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX 650Ti and I had graphics driver crashes when I would be playing Guild Wars 2 constantly in really busy towns/areas so I would have to play on the lowest settings to prevent a driver crash. I then ordered this awesome video card and switched to Radeon and it's amazing!! It's nice to not crash anymore and actually be able to play the game on max graphic settings!!! It's like a brand new game again!!! Radeon rocks!!

Cons: NONE so far!!!

Other Thoughts: I bought this while it was on sale and it was totally worth it!! I'm very satisfied with this video card and I am now officially a Radeon fan!!!

3 out of 5 eggsReconsidered MSI

Pros: Worked out of the box, good customer support, great price, runs games well, and overall easy to use.

Cons: First one only worked for a month before I had to send it in, it costed me an extra 30$ on top of the 210$(price back in May when I bought it) to ship to MSI to fix, and it didn't have a serial number sticker on it (don't know who to blame for that)

Other Thoughts: Originally I said I would never go with MSI again, but their customer support was kind and responded at a very fast rate, usually within the hour of an email, so I guess they aren't all that bad.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI 270x

Pros: Easy to install, very quite, and no stuttering/artifact issues that I have read about in other reviews.

The AMD rewards bundle, and the price is what ultimately lead to my purchase of this card.

Cons: None that I can think of yet.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet and Smooth sailing so far?

Pros: Runs all my games very well.
Quiet - Fans idle at 18% and Ive never seen them past 25% when gaming.

Cons: Requires two 6pins which could be an issue for some modular PSUs that don't have a lot of ports.
Fan speeds above ~35% become quite audible. - Only an issue if you want to set up your own fan profiles.

Other Thoughts: Quick note on the screen flickering/shaking issue.
I am unsure if I have actually experienced it. I have experienced shaking with 1 specific game with certain circumstances, so this might just be an issue with the game.
I cant make a definitive answer on which is culprit though.

This is a notable upgrade from my old 5770. I don't play a lot of intensive games, but it is nice to be able to play new releases with no need to turn graphic settings down, and its really nice to no longer hear my graphics card through my headphones

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful performance for the price.

Pros: Have had this card for 3 months now. I have it in a pc that is my primary everything, and stays on 24/7. So far the performance has been exactly what I hoped for.

I have yet to find a game that doesn't run smoothly on highest settings, most recently Farcry 4, Civ: BE, FFXIV and many more.

I setup a temp alarm at 75 Celsius and have yet to hit that. The average idle temp is 28-30 C, average under game load is anywhere from 40-60 C depending.

Cons: The only Con so far is I don't really like the MSI software attached to the card. Mostly just the Framerate app would never function properly for me. However there is FRAPS, and the software was unknown to me at purchase, so no eggs off.

Other Thoughts: Bought it for $180 after the coin mining died down. Feel I got a good price for how it performs, no regrets as of yet.
